Yea I watched Whitwell play SP in 2018. Would love for this SP Waverly game to happen.

One of my favorite games to watch. York and Smith are the only two teams left from old District 7AA when there were only 3 classes.

The Anderson County Mavericks are the most underated 4A team in the state and thats a good thing. They have a few kinks to work out. Greeneville is another dark horse. I think when the dust clears we are still looking at the 3 headed dragon of East Tennessee.

Me either. In summary, McMinn is overrated and ranked ahead of MJ. MJGB is mad. Everyone east of MJ is jumping in. I think that’s about it.

It may just be me but I'm almost certain that neither Mount Juliet or Fulton will win this game.

All these suggestions need to happen. Give these kids a chance to play and play at full potential. The other side of this is some schools are going to miss out on gate. We all know football funds all other sports. We have missed two game/gates so far. The school systems are doing all they can to keep kids apart and safe. In our situation the problems are occurring with non athlete students. The student-athletes are simply pulled into the quarantine situation and forced to sit out for 14 days. Our coaches are doing a great job with separation during workouts and practice and even on the sideline. This is our current situation and it could always change.

I don’t know what they have, but they are located south of Nashville on I65. Lewisburg being their county seat.

Looks like some of these groups that want to get the Warriors name changed will get there wish now. Of coarse they'll have to get the rights from a eating establishment. MC new name, MC Chickens!!!

A lot has been made of the coaching staff at Springfield. Has anyone else noticed that Jo Byrns has taken a huge nose dive in recent years. I mean JBS went to several title games and gave Trousdale all they wanted one year. Now they are losing to powerhouses like Clay County. I wonder how much is talent drop off. and how much of it is because Drew Wilson left and went to Springfield. I am sure he would be a great head coach somewhere, but it awesome to have both Wilson brothers coaching at Springfield.

Do they get invisible 2nd place votes somewhere?

Thanks Blazer.I hadn't read that stuff in a dozen years.Couldn't help but read much of it again.Looks like I got the last post in and it was dead on about DB rebuilding the next year.We were very mad and hurt as fans,players,coaches and parents after that game but I had two boys in the system and couldn't turn loose on anybody.I had a hard enough time keeping my mouth shut during that time frame.My middle son weighed around 190 and could run with about anyone on the team .He Benched 315 for reps of ten before he was old enough to drive and they were trying to play him on the line for that reason.I was yelling fullback and he ended up defensive end.Well,coach Watson knew more then Batman because he turned my smallest son into an all first team conference and North east Tennessee defensive end.

Offensive line finally decided to play football. A lot of pancakes during this game and guys getting after it. This game and the Tellico game were night and day up front.

Crockett, Ripley, and Obion Central are going to be tough regions games for Haywood too.

Good suggestions for food. Thanks to all. Back to the game - this week's 3A AP poll shows Covington still at #2 in the state. Westview is ranked #6 in the state. This has to be the headliner for 3A football in Tennessee this week. Based on those rankings it's apparent that it should be on TV. However, since it probably isn't, you can view the game by going to Facebook and there will be Live Stream coverage on the Covington Gridiron page.

Last year they had a few linemen left that squeaked them out a couple wins. This year the talent has went away completely.

I’ll say this. If everything y’all are saying is true about us trying to schedule other opponents instead of playing SP then that’s very disheartening and embarrassing. I will say this also. Playing the day we get out of 14 day quarantine is asking for a disaster regardless of who the opponent will be.

Great win by Marvyille. Defense kept them close until the offense came around. As far as coaches would not trade any of ours for anyone. So proud and blessed to have the coaching staff we have. The last two years we have come out and pitched a shutout in the second half while scoring twice. Looks like the halftime adustments advantage is clear there. I don't blame Rankin for going for it, although I might of just done it and not tried to draw them offsides and then call a timeout. I think Maryville is in his head a bit but that is understandable. What is he like 3-12 all time? They were probably all excited after Coach Quarles left, man that has to be a disappointment.
