  1. Micah had surgery on Sept 12th for his injury. He fractured bones in his neck which damaged his spinal cord in the cervical region and he has been on a ventilator. The damage is high enough in the spinal cord to affect the muscles that allow him to breathe on his own. Yesterday his mom reported that he had a second surgery. The community support from Chapel Hill and the surrounding area has been amazing. Benefit concerts, T shirt sales, several businesses donated their profits from specific days, and other donations have raised tens of thousands of dollars. The Loretto and Lawrence County schools honored Micah during their Forrest games. Big issue right now is breathing and avoiding lung infections. Rehab can start once the breathing issues resolve but this will be a long difficult journey. Prayers and miracles are needed. Anyone looking to donate or for info can search: #MicahStrong or MicahStrong11 .

  3. That does apply to temperature checks and masks but not to stadium capacity and concession sales.

  4. AC has proved nothing. Undefeated seasons only to fall short to the 2 true teams of 4a. I'm sorry, but AC isn't getting any farther this year. You end up playing Greeneville and Betsy back to back. Heck might not even get past Sullivan South this time

  6. Covid be D*mn*D! We've made it further than the experts said we would. Very happy to see the Metro teams participating now! Wish the governing body in Shelby County would get a clue also, but I guess you can't have everything... Friday Main Event continues on and we've got another great group of Coaches we'll be talking to on this weeks show. As usual, our show airs each Thursday night at 6:00 PM (Central time). Here is a list of Coaches joining us this week: 6:30 - Gatlinburg Pittman Head Coach Derek Rang 6:45 - Cornersville Head Coach Gerard Randolph 7:00 - Nolensville Head Coach Paul Derrick 7:15 - Shelbyville Head Coach Josh Puckett For this first week this season, we didn't pick up any new YouTube Subscribers. I know we are up against a lot more sports now that the NFL and College football have started, but the 6 PM start time will get you some PREP sports talk prior to kicking off your Thursday night action. Please spread the word and ask friends and family to subscribe to the channel. We are non-profit and here only to provide exposure for the kids, coaches, and programs. Here is a link to the channel and you should see a "Subscribe" button once you reach the Friday Main Event Channel. Absolutely no cost of obligation to subscribe. It just helps YouTube track the popularity of a channel. Here is a direct link to the show this week: Friday Main Event Week Seven Stream

  8. Wilson is a solid dude! I like his "its on me" approach. Have him call coach Woods at Cane Ridge and see if he can get a game next year. That game, along with Marshall County and one more tough one would have yall battle tested for a deep run IMO. Games like that let you know what you need to improve on win or lose.

  11. I totally agree with this I would put those top three up against anybody in the east even Riverside. Waverly hasn’t proven much to me yet but you can see the potential for sure.

  13. Oakland is probably the best team in the state for all classes and is 6A so we’d be dumb to schedule them, even y’all wouldn’t play them. Walker Valley wouldn’t travel to SP. You are an internet wannabe.

  14. It’s the only district that’s fully masked all day long. I have no idea what they’re doing all I know is that the contact tracing was taken from the schools and given to the health department and they’re sending THOUSANDS home using overly aggressive contact tracing. It’s going to nuke all the sports.

  15. Or they are following the same guidelines every Major sports league, colleges, and businesses are using. They are require to follow the health department guidelines from the state and CDC.

  16. I completely agree, the team wants a W regardless of what position or how many snaps they get.

  18. They can now. The governor said that didn’t apply to high school football. The tssaa made “recommendations” as to capacity put there are schools all across the state that have been selling all the tickets they can this whole season.

  19. Im not a coach but common sense tells me you play the best players where they are most beneficial, get them the ball, adapt to what type players you got. Some coaches will pound and pound that square peg in a round hole. Do what they would do best imo.

  23. Lewis, and McKenzie are both good I believe. Probably the best the West has to offer behind Peabody. I'm pretty sure Trousdale, and Watertown are pretty much about the same as us. Their schedule is brutal. We should really make a thread for this topic. It would be fun and some would be but hurt, but it may open some eyes as well. If it's not done when I get home from work I'll do it.

  29. Milan does the same thing every week. They sell to the parents of players, cheerleaders and band members first. Then whatever is left they sell Thursday morning at the school starting at 8:30AM. Band doesn’t go to away games so that will free up some but we only got 250. Double the high school Facebook page for info.

  30. I can respectfully disagree with you and still not like you. I don’t like LeLoup either and he’s a White House guy so don’t take it personally. I strongly support anyone who I feel are pouring their hearts into this program. I know this coaching staff personally and I’ve seen first hand how much time, effort, and passion they put into their jobs so I support them. They’re 100% currently putting more into this program than LeLoup is, so I feel like he should shut his mouth. I’m not happy with the current W-L record either, but I also know this is only their 2nd year as a staff. I think the absolute worst thing for a program is instability. I believe this coaching staff will get it turned around if we give them time and if they don’t in the next couple years then I’ll be right there with LeLoup saying they all should be fired. However, right now I still say it’s too soon. LeLoup I want to see this program succeed just as bad as you do, we just clearly don’t agree on the right approach. @LocoLupe

  31. I think Powell is hands down the best team in 5a. Possibly would make semifinals in 6a. They are head and shoulders above everyone else in 5a this year, resembling Alcoa and 3a

  32. Contrary to popular belief. The majority of these seniors have been together since they were 5 years old. SP has NINE defensive starters that have played together since they were 5-6 years old. That leaves TWO defensive starters that haven’t been here the whole time. One is a DT and one is a LB. Offensively SP also has NINE offensive starters that have played together since 5-6 years old. Our QB came here in 7th grade after playing with this group in baseball as a kid. We also have ONE receiver which is also the LB referenced above. Good luck to the warriors Friday.

  34. Agree 100 percent Peabody is a 1 A school,Huntingdon will do well in 2 A ,I do feel the huge 2 A schools that are very close to 3 A has an advantage ,I think Meigs had more than 200 more in enrollment than us last year ,nowb2018 was awesome the 2 smallest 2 A school played for Gold.

  38. People have been really creative. Last Friday's McGavock at Goodpasture was arranged less than 24 hrs prior to kick-off. It was an interesting atmosphere, with everybody seeming to be genuinely thrilled just to be playing football on a Friday night. From the PA announcer to the players, people seemed to unbelievably happy just to be at a game. I've followed high school football for over 50 years, and have seen it evolve into a pre-professional activity that runs year-round. Friday night, it was just a game for the kids and the school communities. much more in tune with the late 60's-early 70's. In the midst of a very difficult time, it's nice to see people rediscover the simple joy of a Friday night football game.

  41. I think most people around Watertown thought this would be the year. Not to knock on the door but to finally open it. Watertown d isn't going give up much. And offensively they have the potential to put up alot of points. But they will have to beat the bully on our block when it counts.
