Need 2 tickets for AAA. Yes, our coach didn't get us an email fast enough. He was also dealing with his school being shutdown due to 10 inches of snow and ice, scrambling to find practice facilities, multiple emails from parents/wrestlers, and whatever familial issues he has to deal with on a daily basis. Why this deadline? I've been following the website and assumed tickets would be available to parents until the last minute. I wasn't planning on looking at buying tickets until a couple of days prior to the event, especially with the easing of covid guidelines. Anyway, 2 tickets AAA?

This is from the email from TSSAA sent out to all programs and coaches this week about how to purchase tickets. “Additionally, please be reminded that everyone must have a ticket to enter unless they are a participating wrestler or a wrestling coach who is registered on the TSSAA Portal and has a wrestler competing that day. No coaches' family members, teammates, managers, scorekeepers, or other staff will be admitted without a ticket purchased in advance. If there are any unpurchased tickets at 12pm CST on Friday, February 19, the access code requirement will be turned off, allowing anyone to purchase up to 2 tickets without a code at the same ticket link.” The TSSAA was pretty clear to coaches as to when the leftover tickets would go on sale to the general public.

My son Mitchell will attend school at The University of the South (Sewanee) and play football for the Tigers! We're so proud of him and excited for this opportunity! He will do a signing ceremony soon.

When and why the deadline was implemented is the $64k question. At no time did TSSAA change any published information concerning ticket distribution. The constant theme was and per their website still is (1) no sales to public and (2) each wrestler gets two tickets. Not the right to purchase the tickets but allocated two tickets. There has never been anything published about a deadline. In fact even the email sent by GoFans mentions nothing about a deadline, only the codes. The logical conclusion was always you will get two tickets to see your child wrestle. TSSAA needs to correct this problem that they help create.

With Clay having home court that could change things because Clay County is very talented and they are well coached. I’ll say this much I believe the winner of the game between those two will be in the state tournament because you avoid Clarkrange until the Region Championship and there is no one on the other side that can give either team a game. Substate game on the road will be close but either team would be favored.

i also like ables a lot. the only thing about elkins, is he will have to either beat clemmons or beat the loser of laxton/brenot. and i just don’t see him beating any of those 3. he should be 6th but the brackets did him no favors.

Best coaching job of the last 10 years was Wilkins GC state championship 2 years ago. Rarely in tournament play did they have the most talent. But had 5 players bought in to a system and doing their job. Straight up out worked the other team.

Really?? David Russell quit HS coaching in 2010 and is assistant at UTM. He won 6 Gold Balls at Bradford, 2 at Gibson County 1 as Head Coach and the other as assistant in back to back years. I wouldn’t swap Wilkins for him right now and he is in the conversation with Rogers. I wouldn’t swap Wilkins for Rogers now and Rogers is a legend. Wilkins coached boys in Missouri for years, then Henry County for a couple of years and then Gibson County. I wished Gibson County had had him in the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s. He took over Gibson County in 2013 when they split the school into two schools and has done what he has done. He won a Silver Ball in 2016, was 1 possession away from knocking off State Champion Greenfield in 2018, Gold Ball in 2019, was last four standing in 2020 when Covid Police hit, has taken a bunch of freshman, sophomores and juniors to a 1 loss season this year and a number 1 AP ranking with no seniors. Wilkins respects Rogers as I do, but 1 thing he ain’t doing he ain’t dreaming to be as good as Lamar.

You’re talking district games. I’m talking about region. According to TSSAA website, first round of girls region is Friday, Feb 26 not Thursday.

He won that state title with his talented son at QB. The years he was successful down there he had one of his sons at QB. As you stated he had coached at the 1A level in the middle of nowhere. Hardly preparation for starting a 6A program in the Boro. The principal at Rockvale made some, I will try to be nice, questionable hires. He had no clue what he was doing as far as athletics and that has been evident. His boys basketball hire was coming off a winless season, but they are buddies so there you go. I guess the Board was trying to stay out of the hiring process and let the principal go get who he wanted, but at some point the hires should have sounded an alarm.

My first call would be Fitzgerald at Meigs. He is a program builder and winner. Not sure if there would be mutual interest but you have to make the call. JMO

Friday night a young football player from Clarksville HS, named Juland Laforture was shot and killed. Asking for prayers for his family, his coaches, his teammates and his classmates. This crap has got to cease. Two young lives in the past two weeks, taken too soon.
