  1. Nobody “ruled him out”. He got beat and we acknowledged him losing. You were the one who made a big fuss about it all.

  2. I am hearing rumors that the eagles will be returning to the mat in 2023. I have heard that they have even cleared out a spot where they plan to have the wrestling room. This would be huge for growing the sport in East Tennessee! I would like to see them add Men’s and Women’s wrestling. This would give King a great in state rival a little under 2 hours away! If anyone has any additional info on this please add to the post!

  8. I like your opinion and faith in District 4AAA but at around 8:30pm tonight both Oak Ridge and Powell will be getting ready for Round 2 of the Region 2AAA Girls Tournament. If you don't go to the game watch it on YouTube.

  11. Interesting tidbit of trivia from the tournament. Evan Anthony from CBHS ends his career as a 4x finalst, 1x champ. Every lose he took in the finals was to an eventual 4 or 5 time champ. L Whitworth, L Horst, W Marchetti, L Taylor (great match). I don't think that happens too often.

  12. Just for the record, DB is losing practically every starter from that team in 2020. They were a senior laden squad. Not quite sure what they have coming back, but they’ll look totally different, even more so than us probably. I do know Powell, Greeneville, and SD bring a lot back from last years quality teams each team had. We’re Oak Ridge though, we should never fear or question playing a tough schedule. Even if we do lose some of those games, it’ll only help us when the playoffs do come. Like one poster above said, playing a weak schedule, regardless of your teams circumstances, doesn’t benefit you very much in the long run. Look where that has gotten AC the past few years.

  13. Landon is a talent that doesn’t come around often. He’s gonna be hard to compete with in the upcoming years.

  16. Both MTSU and the city were fed up with fooling with it last time, from what I heard. I agree it’s the best place.

  17. Bradford over Shires. Probably not a upset IMO but I think Shires was ranked 1

  20. It wasn't stopped due to blood time. His dad walked out on the mat and stopped the match. Riley had a bar in deep and was about to turn him, and with a pre existing shoulder injury, his dad did not want to risk additional damage. Bennett was in control of the match prior to the nose injury.

  21. It's all about commitment. You shouldn't expect to hire and retain (for a long period) a "difference maker" type coach if you only provide minimal support from above. Great coaches maximize their resources and community, but there's a limit to what can be achieved without help.

  22. That would be great, but from what I've seen on the scoreboard lately it looks like Bradley is playing REALLY well right now.

  28. Nole and Bounder are right with Bonk also making some points. Whatever happened to the idea you play good teams in the regular season to get you ready for the postseason. We could replace DB, Farragut, Greenevile and South Doyle with some weak Chattanooga teams and Oliver Springs but we would be exposed in Round One. Bottome line, I've had my say on this topic and I am done. We go over the schedule every season and nothing every said makes a difference. A BIT OF NEWS... We should have a good QB battle this season. Tarwater works hard and has ability and the other QB (Peyton ?) looks good, works hard will attend an Invitation Only Camp in Nashville. He also has a full year of starting varsity experence from his Freshmen year at a small Middle Tennessee school. I am not going to take sides and just let the chips fall where they may. My gut says we end up using both guys throught the year. Good luck to the Wildcats and Lady Wildcats in the Region 2AAA Basketball tournamet.

  29. Agree. Can't fault them for moving in and Mom taking a job as a teacher. I am sure if it was flipped and she got a job here we wouldn't be complaining. Happens everywhere. So no need to throw that jab at Huntingdon. Win w/ class....lose with class.

  30. Not sure if this has ever been accomplished before or not but regardless it is unbelievably impressive. Congratulations to the 3 Uhorchuk brothers for all winning State Titles. Ethan 106p, Caleb 113p, and Daniel 126p all in the same tournament. Also, a big shoutout to Daniel for becoming the 13th 4 timer in TN wrestling History. Great Job Team U!

  31. I am a CPA guy but I give Dilfer credit for what he is doing at Lipscomb. It is great for D2 Middle TN football and competition. I think their schedule shows they are going to play the best they can if possible. CPA's schedule next year is brutal, BA, MBA, Oakland, Indy, Lipscomb and others. Go Lions but glad to see Lipscomb back in it.

  32. Truth. People in the Chattanooga area have always seemed to hate Rhea Co. also for some reason.

  33. I can see that. Summertown has a lot of moving parts to make soup and can beat you with different players. Loretto without Weathers would not be good.
