  1. And besides the football game last year that’s the first win for y’all this season against Marion boys and girls. In any sports so calm down scooter.

  2. The Lambert era is over! He was a heck of a coach and even better person! I hope he has tons of success at The Cumberlands. Who’s gonna get the reigns at the Reservation??

  3. My kinda coach. Walking the hallways seeking out talent. Hard to believe a guy that size never playing football before. Plus receiving an offer from a college without ever playing a game. They say you can’t teach speed. You can’t teach size either. Cool story.

  4. Keep a look out in the NFL draft for former Huntingdon standout Sadarius Hutcherson. He’s had some great seasons playing G at S Carolina, and a great pro day workout. Big step for a man from small town TN. All of the Mustang faithful couldn’t be more proud of him.

  6. I’m not positive but I figure Carter Smith will be. He was back up last year. But I may be wrong.

  7. There is a rumor going around that the South Pitt schedule is about to get even tougher. Going to drop a team and add Gatlinburg Pittman.

  9. Greeneville is a sure favorite. Especially with Satterfield and Gillespie returning for their senior year along with Grove.

  10. Yep. Everyone knows me and TL go way back. The man carried a flower girl down the isle at my wedding for goodness sake lol. I want to publicly say he is a great Christian man and an outstanding role model. He’s always loved and coached his players hard and held his staff to a very high standard (even the volunteer staff didn’t catch any breaks lol). We will miss him greatly. Best of luck Coach Lambert, you will be missed. Him an Rhymer will make an amazing team and they’ll definitely impact young men in the right way. Been a bunch of young men give their lives to God during the team devotionals he puts together. He’s a great coach but it’s not his coaching abilities I will miss most.

  11. CCS had 3 really good backs last year. 1 was a freshman I'm pretty sure. #6 I think.

  12. WOW, hate to hear that but I fully expected him to unite with his partner at the Cumberlands. Very close friends.

  16. I don’t know Coach Turner personally. We did play them in a two year series at a school I used to be at, went 1-1. I do know that he gave many years to that school and community. Prior to Tyner, he labored at the old Kirkman High, where they once lost 40 something games in a row. He showed his loyalty to Hamilton Co. Schools by accepting the assistants job at East Hamilton. Class act.

  19. Very impressive. I assume he is a higher rated recruit than the lineman from last season who committed to UT. Good luck to the teams who have to go against this guy next season....

  23. This is a little bit of a stretch, and not always true. Clayton left Franklin to take the Hillsboro job and went to the state within 2 years of being there. Jay Gore was at Brentwood for some time before going to McGavock. I think opportunity is there from both outside MNPS and from within to hire quality coaches. The issue is the academic part someone mentioned a few posts prior. MNPS ranks exceptionally low in comparison to other counties across multiple academic levels (reading comprehension, test scores, etc). Raise the academic level in the district, and in turn raise the athletic level as well. Why? Because more Metro-Davidson families will choose to send their kids to their local school, instead of a private/charter school.
