Meigs and Jasper will both have good teams. It should be interesting in rounds 2-3 this season. Someone from region 1 or 2 is getting smashed in round 4 though.2 points

Alcoa is not the same Alcoa of old with only the “small school” community talent to chose from. I sat in the stands for many games when they had to play a lot of their players both ways. It is not the same anymore. You have just as many skilled bodies as Maryville does and more than most schools 3A or 6A. I think Alcoa is a great team and I have a ton of respect for them until they cry “oh gosh darn we can’t compete with those big ole schools.” It doesn’t matter if you have 100 kids on your roster if they aren’t talented. If you have 11 on each side that have alittle bit of talent you are ahead of most schools no matter what class they are in.2 points

That's respect brother. He's a heck of a Coach. Don't blame you for wanting to keep him... Thanks for watching.2 points

I really enjoyed the 2a breakdown until you said you tried to get Hackett to leave Watertown! Y'all leave my man alone cause we got attachment issues. Yall thought Kiffin leaving Knoxville was bad lol.2 points

We just want to be competitive. Personally I want to see the stands packed for big games like they used to be. These kids work their tails off and deserve to be supported. Hopefully we can give Meigs a good game.1 point

We pay him a monthly fee for the bulletin board material. He is more expensive during the regular season compared to game week. We won't be looking over Marion when the time comes. We know you all are out for blood etc.1 point

You are the king of bulletin board material lol. You've been saying this stuff since the game was announced. You obviously talk to different people than me because we all know to get to the title game Meigs is the team to beat. I don't think they need any pumping up in Decatur. You talk more about us than you do Sequatchie1 point

I agree. It is a lot easier for a QB to throw the ball around the yard when he doesn't have a 200 plus pound linebacker breathing down his neck.1 point

Who is bragging lol I’m more excited about our line play bc we are bigger then last year at each position lol1 point

We definitely don’t get transfers like that hahah I don’t think we would be mad at it though.1 point

One of my high school maxims: Never, ever play a game in the Commonwealth of Kentucky!1 point

I heard about what Jacobs said to the kids at practice the next day. The message he sent to the players was he definitely cared what happened. I gaurantee he wants his players to be 100% serious about everything they do. Yes in the long run the 7v7 results don’t mean anything but good coaches build good habits. No days off… everything counts.1 point

The main thing is we are just a few short weeks away from playing meaningful football!1 point

Fair enough. I think this years region opponents are tougher than what Haywood has been used to.1 point

Well I guess we will be heading to Alcoa instead of Corbin Ky. Been to Goddard Field many times to watch Alcoa. It should be a great atmosphere to kick off the season.1 point

Yeah it’s true. Alcoa vs Rhea Co Aug 20. Rhea was going to play at Corbin originally but that is no more the case.1 point

Gotta keep working the crowd. Clapping is good, booing is good. Silence doesn't sell tickets.1 point

Both great coaches but I would/do give one the edge over the other. That would be George Quarles (What is Rankin's record vs G.Q?) I know it's been said there shouldn't really be a comparison since it's 3A vs 6A . But if I may say so, I do believe, if everything were the same, and we just swap the 2 coaches out with one another, it is my most humble and honest opinion, G.Q. would have a better record against Maryville than Rankin does today. So I say: George > Gary1 point

Yes sir. The kids in our community are no doubt blessed. In my opinion we have the nicest stadium in west TN.1 point

Exactly. It’s a money maker especially for Alcoa. The Maryville game gate probably matches or beats all the other games combined.1 point

So the last Milan board meeting $144,000 in weight room upgrades was approved. Also Jumbotron will be installed and ready for the first home game. Indoor practice facility for all sports is still in the design phase and is planned to break ground around Christmas of this year. Cant say enough how happy I am for the kids in our district and how appreciative I am of the people within the community that are making it happen. #MilanAwesome #MadeInMilan1 point

Maryville will be outstanding next year. 8 starters back on offense. Maryville's biggest loss will be Parker McGill on offense. I believe Noah Vaughn will be outstanding at RB. Carson Jones is a very good quarterback. On defense the strength will be the Safety positions. DJ Burks is a great player. Elijah Hames was playing well at safety before he got hurt. Dline was good all year but got whipped vs Dobyns Bennett and Oakland. I expect Zack Braden,Caleb Graham and Frankie Diaz to get bigger and stronger next season. Mike Bethea will be a good DE. Even though Maryville loses 3 good LBs in Townsend,Burchfield and Garner. I still think they will be good. Braden Hoy played well and he is back. Cannon Johnson and Jason Manaker started some games last year. Need to find 2 corners. Kickers will all be back.1 point

We'll be plenty big enough next year. Size isn't much of a concern for next year's team as much as replacing the Senior leaders we're losing. For any program, replacing Seniors will always be a question mark and we had some good leaders from the small group of Seniors we had this year.1 point

And if Alcoa actually were a "real" 3A program, you would have a point. But you and I both know better. Only one of us will admit it, however.0 points
