If everyone could please keep us (Waverly) in your prayers we had so much flooding and so many lives lost. People have lost their houses and cars. Worst I have ever seen and most couldn’t even imagine. Please keep us in your prayers and thank you so much to the surrounding counties and our local heroes who gave and risked their lives to save people.

Please remember to lift up those who lost family members, their homes and possessions this morning in Humphries, Dickson and Hickman counties. I just heard that one family lost two 7 month old twins......God bless these families in Jesus name....

What’s always blown my mind is the fact the Science Hill is one of the top 7 high schools in the state by enrollment. They SHOULD beat us. I mean they have. I’m not forgetting the totality of this rivalry. But it just doesn’t make sense. They should compete at a higher level. Oh well. I’ll take it. Moving on to Rhea County.

He was pretty bummed last night but there’s a lot of season to play. also, just wanted to say that the hospitality and friendliness from everyone we met from Beech was just awesome. Everyone was so kind and helpful. It’s always nice to play in a venue like that especially when you travel so far! Much appreciated!

But they are a typical Matt Lowe team with no discipline, they make all kinds of just plain dumb mistakes. Late hits, unsportsmanlike hits out of bounds and running their mouths. Matt has to stop that, but can or will he?

Just finished watching the Knox Central game. It was a limited observation, but Cannon appears to be a much better passer than Quillen. He seemed to run pretty well too. Quillen’s arm seems pretty weak based on tonight’s throws, and some decisions were pretty poor. Maybe tonight was an anomaly, but Quillen looked much like he did last year. To beat Elizabethton, they’ll need to mix up the run with a passing attack. Not sure Cannon isn’t a better option at this point.

I think everyone recognizes that, and I am grateful that he's willing to do it. There is obviously a lot more to what he does than just the play-by-play. Mark is a nice guy, but it can be painful listening to his broadcasts. There are times when it feels like he either 1) hasn't prepared for the on-field product or 2) is half-paying attention to what is actually happening on the field. And I'm saying this as someone who has been involved in both high school and college football broadcasts over the years. Believe it or not, someone can be a great person and terrible at their job (as a commentator in this case). I would love to see Mark just focus on the production side and bring in a quality play-by-play voice.

I’m pretty happy with where Moore puts Covington in his Power Rankings, but as you and I have said before, it’s what happens on the field that counts. Of course, I’m always happy to see that somebody else rates “my team”:highly. Now we just have to back it up for real. Thanks for what you do. I was sorry to read in another thread that you won’t be doing games in person again this year. Let’s hope that this COVID stuff goes away sooner rather than later. I will attend every game they let me in. I had COVID last summer, then have had two vaccinations since. My doctor recently tested my antibodies and I scored the max - 250. I’m going full speed ahead at this point.

First game lots of mistakes and a lot of opportunities to get better. We will be just fine but need to let our backs establish a rhythm. The center situation I just don't understand. If we can establish the run. Let's run it till we need to throw it. Need to get players back on the field. If a c- gets us a win over SC I can't wait to see what a B looks like

Don’t have a dog in this fight but I would say too early in the season and too much football remaining to make dire predictions. West Creek, Station Camp, Rossview and Cookeville should be easy wins. Blackman, Hville, Lebanon, Clarksville are 50-50 games. Will be an underdog against Beech. Hville lost to Alabama (sorry meant Oakland) pretty badly last night and I have no idea how the Commandos will end up. Could win 7 or 8 or could 4 or 5. Too early to get down on players and coaches.

I think if Northside can control the big plays this will be closer than people think.

Westview offense will score some points but the chargers defense will give up alot of points. The streak will continue. Peabody wins big.

I watched that game and it was very hard to watch at times with so many penalties and injuries. Both Maryville and Powell kicked off at the same time and the Powell game was just ending it's first half just shy of the end of the third Quarter in the Maryville game. It was 42 to 0 so I drove down to the Sonic to watch the rest and it was the same way in the second half as the first. I ordered a second round to keep from being asked to leave for loitering. Powell won that game with the on side kick gamble topped off by the interception at the end, other wise Anderson County exposed most of their weaknesses as to Maryville running pretty Vanilla stuff. No need to show off your weapons when all you need were pea shooters for that contest. That game was played more for the money for Heritage then anything, I can assure you Maryville fans weren't excited about it.

Well the experts have spoken so I will Throw in my two cents. I was Very proud of the lions last night. Our one legged boys came in and held their own. I agree Intense the kicking game will come around and be fine. #4 looked like Pony 2.0. The younger guys stepped up also. These guys showed heart and fight and that’s all I wanted To see. The X’s and O’s Will come. Great game good luck Cardinals the rest of the season.

No. There's no bouncing back from that. This team will beat Heritage. That's the ceiling now. And honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they lost that game too. I don't care either way. I'm definitely not coming to any more games this season. I have had it with this loser program and loser school. Nobody cares about winning down there. Nobody has any pride and it's making me sick to my stomach.

I wouldn't write them off just yet. This isn't the first time we had a crappy performance at center. It has to get fixed PDQ and I hope it didn't get in the kicker's head. The center should get kicked in the butt by the ball when that happens. Hopefully the big lineman will be back this week.

I am still royally teed off with PackerVision. More upset with them than the play of the Wildcats. Thank goodness The Voice of the Wildcats David Clary, Alex and the rest of the TV team came through. They are the best Prep coverage Team in Tennessee. I have only watched the first 3 quarters and saw some great OR plays, some bad OR plays and a solid South Doyle team. A lot of the bad OR plays are correctable. We should see good progress next week against the Bulldogs back at the Ship. Coach Gaddis knows how to take care of Bulldogs . Sic them Cats on those Dogs. Some of you have expressed frustration over slow starts by Oak Ridge. It looks like we are in for another slow start so keep your heads on straight, buckle up tight, keep your hands inside the ride because were about to embark on the Roller Coaster of Death aka Tennessee High School Football. The OL / DL will come along as will all the other parts of the team where youthfulness hurt us. Can somebody explain what Gaddis said on Coach's Corner about we have lost 4 linemen before the season even started? Thanks. Coach Cat did a good job on his report card. That was a difficult game to grade because of the erratic play of the Cats. Bounder, good selections for the WWA shirts. YIKES! Sweet has a bro-crush with 92 Dragon. Congratulations to Beech. Tough loss for the Admirals. I wish it had turned out differently but much respect to Beech’s team. I enjoyed the concession stand and the great atmosphere. Good luck to y’all the rest of the season.

If anybody has been paying attention to the scrimmages and then tonight too. This has potential to be the WORST defensive unit i may have ever seen from Henry County. Im just calling it how it is folks. I know the coaches and people don't wanna cause panic but I see a major cause for concern if something doesn't change in a big way.

Tough ending to a tough hard fought game. The Eagles showed alot of fight tonight.

Well. We don’t talk much. We play. It was a typical, humid, calf-trap of a game. Cyclones had 5 guys with cramping at the same time at one point. Tough played game. And Cyclone Nation showed up IN FORCE. Visitors side was sold out. We now own a 31 game win streak, and 4 in a row over the Toppers. I’ll take it. Now, SH has to go to Anderson County. AC loosing to Powell right now. Rhea County comes to Betsy after being dismantled by Alcoa. And Greeneville plays Saturday. Football is back!!!

To hear Carter and the news media talk preseason I was thinking Maryville might be in trouble come playoff time.... I guess now we know..
