  1. Coach what makes it real difficult is thinking of those he left here that love him ! This forces us all to face our mortality ! Now I say we all go out and follow Mikes example ! Find something we are passionate about, put our best effort towards whatever that is and love it unconditionally, ask nothing in return ! God gave us that Molder Man and allowed him to touch everyone in different ways for a reason ! I know as a man I wanna “fix” everything and this just shows we can’t control much in reality except the legacy we leave !

  2. This one hurts bad. I really thought Mike was getting over the hump when he left us that message the other day. There are no words I have right now to properly express it but thank you Mike for being a part of my life for the past decade or so. Thank you for the show that brought hours of personal enjoyment and thank you for everything you did for Football in Tennessee. My prayers go out to Mike's family and friends.

  3. I agree. I read in the Lexington Progress that McClaine only had 11 yards on 13 carries against the Tomcats.

  4. Over the last year, I had gotten to know Mike after he messaged me and asked about ole Butchie. Long story short, that lead to some conversations and we talked more via text. He would ask me about McKenzie and our players. I had it set up where Coach Comer was going to be on his show at some point this season. I never got to meet him in person. I was hoping that could happen this year. He seemed to be just a good soul who poured his heart into high school football. RIP in Mike Molder. Say "Hi" to the Duckman for me.

  5. Revelation 21:4-6 KJV [4] And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. [5] And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. [6] And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. So saddened by this news. Prayers for his family and all those who were close to him. May the peace of God in Heaven be with each and everyone during this most difficult time.

  6. I don't know why, but I had a bad feeling when I was about to open this thread this morning. There was a premonition of something dark that made me actually want to avoid it today and act like an ostrich with it's head in the sand, now I know why. This is so sad to hear about Mike. While he and I weren't what you would call "friends" in the normal sense of the word so to speak, we were always very friendly to each other. I appreciate the fact that he brought me onto his show a few times, I appreciate the little bit of time that we spent actually getting to know one another on the phone, through email, text, Coach T and those few times in person. Along with coach T, he has done more to promote high school football in our state than just about anybody else. We always enjoyed poking fun at one another at times, especially ribbing each other over our big ones picks. Mike, you were truly an amazing guy and a fun person to know. My thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends. I'm glad you put your trust in the Lord and I thank you for all that you have done for fans like us. Godspeed brother.

  7. Got a call this afternoon with the terrible news. I sure do hate to hear this. I had some good times with Mike back in the day when his son played for cascade and had a lot of battles with Jo Byrns. He didn’t care for me early on but we became good friends for a time. Time went on and we didn’t talk much anymore once regions realigned and he started doing the radio thing. I’ll remember the good times and he’ll always be one of my favorites from coacht! I’ll be sure to do my part to carry on his passion for high school football. We both loved 1A football the most! Thanks Mike!!!

  14. Thanks for clearing it up. And my intention wasn't to trash a kid in any way. I simply felt like there was something there that was preventing his playing at this point. But, that said, we live in a different day with social media. Kids get on and promote themselves and talk about who is recruiting them, where they are visiting, posting their highlight videos, and generally doing a "Look at Me" on a daily basis. . They have opened up discussion about themselves with their promotion of themselves. Fairly or unfairly, that's what has happened. And that's one of the things that hasn't been a positive of social media. Too much there to invite scrutiny these days. And personally, unless I know a kid very well and have a personal friendship with he or his parents, I don't follow high school or college kids on social media. It just seems creepy to me for a grown adult to do that. But maybe that's just me.

  18. I didn’t have the chance to meet him, but my heart goes out to his family, Lee & his coach T friends. I’d enjoyed listening to him and Lee. He did have a way about him that made you want to smile. Through coach T I have met some amazing passionate football fans and great loving people. I hated hear this about Mike and it’s sad. Jehovah Yahweh & his only begotten son Jesus are merciful & their love is unconditional & there’s forgiveness available to all who will accept. Heavenly Father please comfort and give strength to the family and friends during this difficult time in Jesus name we ask.

  20. You would think at 42 years of age I wouldn’t be in shock with news especially this day in age but it still gets me to hear hear news like this. He was one cool dude and absolutely loved High School Football. Like General said we all bicker on here at each other but in reality it’s a in good fun. Prayers definitely sent to his family and friends from Waverly.

  34. It most certainly does ! Gives it a great vibe ! Man we gonna have great food , great weather and 2 hungry teams going at it ! Sorry if I am not giving you green falcon boys my best banter,it’s hard right now, really need tmrw night kickoff to feel somewhat ok, somewhat normal ! I will say this there are some of you I go back and fourth on here and then someone actually talk to daily from here, even several I consider family but I wanna say in some way I love you all ! I don’t care if you think that’s sappy but guys it’s been real hard on this old boy to function for the last 18 hours ! I hurt inside knowing I can’t comfort those that are affected more than I ever could be by recent events! I believe Jesus died for us all, I trust without ceasing ,but my human mind just can’t grasp these events ! Losing Mike and having my brother Big Ed fighting this now is just hard, standing in my sub shop My 3 regular TCA kids came in for lunch and just seeing that purple T ,I lost control of every feeling in my body and had to leave my crew there to handle the day ! Guys I don’t really think the Pride that talked a bunch of junk will resurface and I am okay with that, I really need you all to humbly go to our Lord and Saviour in prayer when you can and ask Ed’s wife and kids to recieve comfort and peace, in whatever may happen ! Pls pray for Mrs Molder and their families comfort and understanding! Thanks and I ask you remember them boys and you look real long and hard tmrw night at that grass and them fellas taking the field and you appreciate that sight and that breath you take, you take a big inhale of those smells of a beautiful Friday night ! Never know when it’s our last Love you all in Christ Shane Malone (Pride)

  41. The game is not broken. I hear on this post about growing the game... i question is our game dying? Is the point about growing the game for more student-athletes to play? If not, in what way are we trying to grow the game? I'm not sure players quit playing basketball because they don't play with a shot clock. Nonetheless, I see the value in all the points that have been made. Both sides. I, however, am not in favor due to the question that still yet to be answered: Why change the game for 3% when the 97% will not need it. The major reason that most people want to establish a shot clock to "prepare kids for the next level". There are other places for that... and only 3% get that chance anyway. Also, the great John Wooden once said in his 12 lessons of leadership: " Seek significant change." I'm good with change... but not all change is good. The other biggest reason for shot clock is to quit allowing teams to stall the ball. First, the team that is stalling is most likely a lesser talented team and using that strategy to have a better chance of winning (which about 85% of the time that doesn't happen anyway, but gives a closer game). Stalling only occurs in about 1% of games nationally. That's not enough for me to decide to change a rule. Also, shouldn't the defense try to "steal" the ball if another team has it? If ateam is getting stalled on, shouldn't they turn up the pressure and trap more. The offense shouldn't "have" to give the ball away to the other team... if you want, take it. European players are seemingly more fundamentally sound that American players. I wouldn't say all of them however. We onlysee the better teams, leagues, games, players on film/video... not the majority of them. Captnoname said it right though, they practice much more than Americans... they routinely put in 6-8 hours daily vs 2-3 for Americans. That is probably why they are more fundamental much more than implementing the shot clock. Someone mentioned that coaches who don't want the shot clock are just being lazy and scared of change. Not a good assumption... I don't want a shot clock, I coach in a very tough league, and I consider myself to be a very diligent worker. I am always trying to be creative and innovative... to give my teams the best chance they can have to win. We have played multiple different styles... and we have won games in the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, 100's, and even 110's all in the same year. We play a style that gives the best chance of winning vs our opponents. I'm all for change and innovation, however, I don't feel this would be the best case. I would rather have a 4 point line than a shot clock. Less variables that could go wrong, plus the spacing would become so much better in the game, thus allowing more skilled players to make greater impact. Just a thought.

  42. Practice or dressed doesnt matter as long as they dont touch the field in a Varsity game.If they did touch the field for 1 play then they are ineligible till after that date. BUT I thought Hampton never got transfers?3 in 1 year is pretty good.LOL!

  43. I like this Greeneville schedule.Nobody knows how good any team will be from year to year but Greeneville done a great job of getting some teams on the schedule that most years your going to circle as a big game, especially for a school with less then a thousand students.Central,Oak Ridge ,Dobyns Bennett and Morristown West to go along with your region rival Elizabethton. Nice job of trying to get some really good competition on the schedule.
