BC & Throwdeslant, let me ask you this and I'm not on here to start anything, just want your honest opinion. You (put yourself in a head coach's position) are on a 5 game winning streak, just had your best game of the season, got lots of momentum going into your biggest two games of the year w/ playoffs and seating on the line. Are you going to tell me you would schedule a top 10 team (any classification), knowing that more than likely you're going down, your momentum gone and the possibility of injuries to key members on a team that (to my knowledge) has no depth at any position. Would you take a game that nothing good could come out of it? I'd love to see it earlier in the season. I wouldn't call it being a chicken, I'd call it being smart!

To paraphrase what Reagan said to Mondale, we are not going to criticize you for your youth and inexperience. But, we were cheering for Covington and Haywood when South Gibson was not even a gleam in Gibson County’s eye. I have shoes that are older than your school. My ancient memory says that before there was a Coach T, or any posters on Coach T, there was a restaurant in Brownsville called Stacmot. In the 1970’s I used to take my family over there for catfish. So, my esteemed and respected fellow poster has adopted the same pseudonym. It’s a highly respected name, too. I do enjoy trading banter with you. I enjoyed meeting you at Covington a couple of years ago. Despite being relatively new, y’all (SGC) have come a long way in a short time.

I give u that. My predictions are based on not having those guys.

If LC other 2 gold balls and 3 runner ups isn't part of a culture then Peabody recent success is not a part of a culture. Now do I believe that no but tradition goes along way in establishing a culture and LC has done that in every decade the school has existed.

I believe it was their running back that was really good. They went 6-4, but fell in the first round to Midway unfortunately.

This group of seniors need to stand together and realize that they all have the same goal. You can have all the talent in the world but if you don't play together as a TEAM you aren't going far.

Trust me THEY know they ARE still playing. Just go to practice or down on the field after a game and you'll see for yourself. WILDCAT PRIDE

I did make it over to Bullitt Park Friday night. Although the score looked close it was pretty much a dominant evening for the Bears. I probably won't get to catch another Ridgeview game till the playoffs, as their season should outlast D-B, the way it's looking currently. Your score prediction is somewhere in the ballpark I was going to go. If WB has a passing game at all, that's always good for a couple of scores at least against D-B. I just don't think WB can stop D-B's offense though.

None of the QBs have apparently stepped up and taken the position. A lot of mental “sophomoric” mistakes. I tend to believe I know what I would do, but I’m not at practice and don’t know what happens there. I’m not one to second guess this staff. I don’t like having a multiple QB game plan, but like I said, I don’t know everything that happens.

I’ll take HVA by 2 due to a self inflicted safety by Heritage.

I'm not sure how this thread got to page three because Hardin Valley totally sucks. Maryville would get a better game out of splitting up into and playing a Red and Black game Friday as to play this horrible school that pretends to have a football team played at the worst stadium built for a soccer field in the entire state. It had the worst playing surface in the state until Jimmy bought them a plastic football field a few years back. It would be fitting if there was a bowl game played season ending at the Turd Capital of all football teams in Maynardville called the Turd Bowl and let HVA and Heritage find out who stinks the worst.

Obviously, it was a poor choice of words on my part. I certainly didn't intend for my statement to be taken in that way. It was not my intent to criticize South Gibson's football program, but apparently I did, and I apologize. Murfreesboro Oakland has one of the best teams in the state. The Patriots lead the overall series with Haywood 3-0-1. That's not a good look for Haywood. If anything, I think that statement attests to the power of Oakland's program and possibly a weakness of ours. I felt the same way when I made that statement concerning SGC. If you look back at the other quote that I made in the post, I stated, " I tip my hat to South Gibson. You have a first class program." In fact, I had nothing but praise for SGC in that 2019 thread. If you check my post history, I don't think you'll find any posts where I have criticized Coach Stidham or the South Gibson team. I wholeheartedly agree with your statement, "SGC has a bunch of kids that will give it their best shot every play and play that way to the last whistle." South Gibson is a a formidable foe. I don't believe that I, or anyone else, has denied that. I'm aware of South Gibson's track record against Haywood. I know that the Hornets give it their all. I know South Gibson has put up 101 points against Haywood over the last two years. In fact, I have mentioned in several posts over the course of this year that Haywood has had difficulty stopping South Gibson's offense. Coach Stidham always comes up with an excellent game plan. There has been no disrespect toward South Gibson there. When Milan and South Gibson were members, I never questioned the power of Region 7-3A. I'll readily admit that when that was the case, 7-3A was one of the strongest regions in the state. Haywood lost 3 regular season games last year. Two of those loses were to 7-3A Covington and 7-3A South Gibson. No disrespect there...it was indeed a powerful region. I also hope it is a clean injury free game and the refs are not involved too much. Good luck to both teams.

Gotta be honest Huntingdon is top 5, I don’t know if I would switch TC and Westview! I am a huge Ty Simpson fan but if we are talking sloppy December football a style like TC or Huntingdon just translates to the crazy weather conditions better, perfect day dry field Westviews a 1 or 2 but when does that actually happen late fall ?

Said it 100 times...if they give you all they got and play as well as they can, the score doesn't matter to me. Always proud of 'em when they win, but that ain't all that it's about.

Thanks Trader. Family is doing well. Had another grandchild born a couple weeks ago so I like you am doing better than I deserve. As far as our team, I’m always proud of our bunch. Had their back when they would only have 20 players and only win one or two games a year. We don’t have the overall speed this year but then boys will give you all they have and that’s all a fan could want.

I think he’s doing the best with what he has lol. It’s not like people are just jumping out of their chair to be the head coach at chapel hill.
