I watched most of the first half on the Gov Network which I speak highly of and wish Maryville would do the same especially today since games start at 7 and some away games are 60 plus miles away. This reminded me of two fat ladies in a mud wrestling contest with all the interceptions and penalties and I finally turned it off with a few minutes to go in the first half with WB leading 7-0. I came to a conclusion HVA couldn't stick their finger in their hind end so I turned it off and totally concentrated on the MHS and West game in front of me. I look at the halftime scores and in dis belief HVA had scored since the time I turned the thing off. I check again and HVA was ahead so I turned it back on and WB had just tied it up 15 all. I get to my car and HVA was ahead 22-15 with 3 or 4 minutes to go. My evaluation of the program is if all the top hats down there just love the humiliation and embarrassment this program is going through please by all means stay the course. The only thing they had going for them at WB was the middle school program until someone got a hold of that and spread the cancer even farther. When I watch them I see a bunch of good kids that have so much potential and it hurts coming so close in a lot of the games only to find their way into the losing side once again. Hopefully Mo East is in the same boat and WB can pull out a win then go into the off season and either plan to make changes or stay the same course expecting different results. This mess goes on farther back then the current coaching has been here. This program has the potential to change before it's to late and meets Heritage's doom which Nick Saben couldn't mustard out a win and just needs to go away.

New Word of the Day at William Blount is Ambition. Shad told his wife this morning all was just fine until the lady at the concession stand started her fussing Ambition with the Kingsport Fans wanting the season to hurry up an end.

I will say this is the weakest sp team in years, but they have better athletes than anyone in the east. They are still the favorite to get to the title game. Sp, Gordy and clay.

Congrats to Huntingdon, great game. Well deserved win, it was their night for sure, and great atmosphere in their stadium! Couple of takeaways from the game. 1. Huntingdon is the real deal. They totally dictated the tempo of the game. There were about 4-5 swing plays in this game and they won them all. Hats off. They were better last night. They are a serious threat to win state in 2A if they dictate like that. 2. A big reason Peabody had an off night was because their opponent was locked in but literally nothing went their way last night for the first time in a long time, and playing from behind the whole game changed the playbook completely. 3. I don’t always think losing is good for a team, but i really think Peabody losing this game might be better for them than if they won it. The streak was incredible but it really was becoming too much added pressure on the players and the coaches and in some ways maybe kept them from getting better. It might be the thing that gives them a reset and puts them over the top to compete for another title. 4. Great atmosphere, great game, both communities should be proud of their teams and congratulations to Huntingdon!

This is the game all season has been pointing at, and both teams held up their end to get where we are today. Both undefeated, both looking for deep playoff runs. Meigs boasts a great run defense, Marion wants to run the ball. It's really that simple, if Meigs stops the run, they win. If they can't slow it down it will be a long night for the Tigers. The two questions coming in to the season for the Warriors was could they improve enough defensively to be a contender, and could they throw the ball. So far the second year dc for the Warriors has done a great job, only giving up 38 points on the year. Throwing is still a work in progress but the offense is just better with Hutchins at qb. I say this is a low scoring game, first one to 21 wins? Meigs will be well prepared to stop what we do having two weeks to prepare. Can they stop it? This game may come down to penalties and turnovers. Normally Marion doesn't have much of either.

Your 100% right.We should never be this bad.And 2-7 is bad enough but the way we look is even worse.The never ending problem upfront and some of the same problems we see year after yr is the issue.You want a coach that can get the max out of what is possible.But we are not even getting 50%.We need a whole staff that is committed to doing whatever it takes and invest the time needed to reach max potential.

Several of these kids dads and uncles were on our ‘89 team that went 9-1 regular season and the ‘90 team that went 10-0 regular season. Since them days we’ve just beat Gordy in ‘91, ‘96, ‘03, ‘08, and ‘19. Time for another one.

The Blade Years are sort of my Oak Ridge Black Hole years. I had moved to Chattanooga, got married and threw myself in 100% to my teaching career at Woodmore Elementary. A typical Friday Night was staying to 7 PM to ready my classroom for the next week, having dinner with my wife at a Mexican Resturant then going straight to bed. I literally have no opinion on Blade. I did like Stevens but I knew he had to go. Who do I want as OR coach...? Gaddis Minor Maryville or Alcoa coach...HC or Assistand coach.

I knew it was somewhere around that time Huntingdon started playing football. The program‘s first season starts with 1930 season.

You felllows might check the AHSFHS site. Huntingdon page says 11 - 14. UC page says 16 - 11. UC claims victory from 1918 while Huntingdon says started playing fb in 1927.

Man I hate to hear that for y’all, y’all had a great team rolling until injuries. I for one said I thought y’all were down, and y’all indeed were not down. I wish for fast recoveries for y’all’s injuries. I hate hearing abt kids getting hurt. As for waverly, they will indeed be playing playoff games away, I don’t really see a way for them to get them home field playing time. There were talks early abt trying to get the field up and going but it never happened. I believe it was because there’s so much other stuff that needed repair in the town overall before they could get to the stadium. They had a brand new fence built abt 2 weeks after the flood but it hasn’t been touched since. I haven’t heard differently yet, but they will definitely be playing away all playoffs as of now.

If what Coach Gilligan said is true that the 2 monster sized basketball players quit last week, Clay is going to to get torched by 4 tds or more. If the game is at gordy refs are going to turn their heads too.

Trenton’s running back was the best runner Huntingdon has faced all year.

I just think Marion Co is hitting there stride and the stable of RB's is tremendous. You have 4 guys in there that can take it to the house on any play and that line is one of the best I've seen since the KC and The Sunshine Days. I know Meigs is a different animal all together, but I see Marion Co taking over this game and winning by 7-14.

Should be a good game. the fact the game is at HC plays a big role i think. I still don’t know how good P-Town really is. They upset SC, who beat MJ, but then got slaughtered by Springfield. Both teams whooped NW, and won a close game against NE. Portlands defense played much better against NE, while HC’s played better against Springfield. Basically, this game is probably a toss up, it’s anyones guess as to who wins.

The light hasn't gone out on you guys. You are still the team to beat in 1A. You're right, the streak had to end at some point. Better to do it here in a game that was really meaningless in the grand scheme of things vs have it happen deep in the playoffs. Peabody will be better because of this loss. I have no doubt with the talent, coaching, and passion your team has that this game will light a fire under them and they will play with a chip on their shoulders for the rest of the year. Time to start the next streak!

Haywood always had more athletics than opposing teams but now I think they got their coach

Covington was absolutely outclassed and overpowered in every aspect of this game. They didn't look like they even deserve to be on the same field as Haywood. Covington's offense is far too one dimensional and very predictable. They had zero chance in this game. Haywood could do just about anything they wanted on offense and Covington had nothing that they could run with much success on offense at all. I would bet a lot that this is one of the worst beatings that Covington has taken in a long, long time. Hats off to Haywood. They are the class of west Tennessee as far as I am concerned. They took another west Tennessee power and absolutely dismantled them. #7 for Haywood was the best player on the field and it was not close. He is one of the best I have seen in high school. He will be a monster at the next level.

Congratulations to Rhea County - they earned this win! Doubtful that Bradley was looking ahead to playing Maryville - more like dreading another beatdown by the Rebels.

The Black Swarm looks pretty good too.

They came to play and besides that first Loretto game owned it! Congrats! Lots of fight in those kids.

It's easy for me to be an armchair QB. it's not easy to pull off what you guys do...ive tried to limit my critiques lol You guys have a dream gig honestly! You get to be al michaels and collinsworth for your favorite team every week! but i know its a lot of work. there are lots of out of town fans who are older, like myself, who really rely on your program and coverage. so thanks again
