Unfortunately we have a number of players, including key players left on this team that are in a "wait and see" mode as to whether or not they are even going to play football for Oak Ridge next year. Many are waiting to see if a change in leadership takes place before they jump back on board. Don't shoot the messenger! I am just sharing what I have been told by parents and players on multiple occasions this year. I think at this point everyone involved with this season knows that this is not the standard or the expectation for Oak Ridge football. I don't think that anyone that watched this team play could disagree that great change must take place to get this program back to where we all know it should be. I'm not calling for anybody's job, I have never publicly called for any coach to be fired. (except Butch Jones). But at the very least, there has to be an honest assessment of and drastic changes made in the way things are being done/not done. It's about demanding accountability from everyone involved top to bottom; players, coaches, support staff, admin., everybody. Being good is not easy. Getting the results we all want requires commitment, hard work and dedication to be your best from all involved. " We got a long way to go and a short time to get there." Well talking about McMinn, win lose or draw this Friday night they should be proud of the hard work they put in this year. They probably exceeded many people’s expectations for them this year. They had tremendous teams the previous two years and the 20 seniors they lost coming into this season accounted for a lot of that success. This team has played hard and got better as the season has gone along. Pulling for them this Friday. Go Tribe

The Commandos have plenty of big play power in Ellis, Manning and Baker, the Wave defense has already seen them once this year and will again be greatly challenged to reign these guys in. A big key for Gallatin will be to play well from the opening whistle, have some good things happen early, to be able to stay in it and give themselves a chance. Hendersonville definitely has the horses to run away from a team, they can snowball a team in a hurry. Get ready for lots of run plays! Upper 40's and dry at kickoff, there should be a huge crowd for what is one of the longest standing Sumner County rivalries.

Once again trying to spin this thread to make it look like it’s SP that is against everyone when it’s actually the SP people saying y’all are not good enough or maybe you can compete with Clay or hopefully little SP can show up and make it a game etc…Why do that? Everyone knows y’all are good on the gridiron everyone knows Clay is the one that is the decided underdog so just stop please. Now on the other hand if SP has to play against Clay in a region basketball game then yeah you can say all of those things because they won’t stand a chance. Clays JV team would see more of that game that the starters would but this is football. So do us all a favor and quit poor mouthing the SP football team. It won’t work

It doesn’t matter how you slice it, PC is the gold standard of metro football. Numbers don’t lie! Far as winning the state the day to day nonsense our coaches go tho, I’m not surprised we can even get out the second round let alone go to state like we have. Alcoa’s of the world don’t have to worry about if their kids have ate when at home, or miss practice to watch little brother or sister. All they have to do is coach so you can’t compare the two!!!

Just my own personal opinion but I think Maryville came out a little flat and DB came out firing on all cylinders. It was a pretty evenly played first half. Most likely a few attitude adjustments at halftime was all it took and Maryville was off to the races. The score still turned out about the same as it would have if DB had scored 7 or 14 against the 2's late in the game. But DB does deserve some credit for scoring the 14 on the 1's in the first half.

If the Wildcat players do happen to read what we old guys think on a message board - Please get in the weight room. Please watch some instructional video on the nuances of the game. Please educate yourself enough to be a coach on the field. Please watch some film of Spencer Gulmire, James Mitchell, Ethan Grumski, Elliott Normand, Alex Alcorn, Kendyll Clark, Jacob Adams, or Jacob Bervin. Recognize the warrior spirit of these former players and play with a heart the size of a mountain. Believe it or not, effort on the field will prepare you to be a winner in life. Longtime Wildcat fans will support your efforts, but keep in mind, they know what effort looks like. Respect is earned. Bring it back it 2022

And for the record, he was obviously talking about Trenton Peabody having the longest win streak in the state. They lost for the first time in 3 1/2 year a couple of weeks ago.

Yep, Summit, Beech, Brentwood and Springfield is all better than Covington and Dyersburg just in my opinion. Either way though, like I said I'm hoping that tough gauntlet of a schedule helps us out this month.

After reading a lot of these posts, I believe it would be best, considering the price of fuel these days, for TC to just stay home & eat pizza. We obviously have as much chance as a snowball in a furnace. Maybe next year.....

It will be tough without #7. That’s a big blow when the games have gotten tough he has been the problem solver for them. On the road against a team that was going to give you fits anyway. I now have to lean towards Hardin to take the win, but I wouldn’t be surprised if PC wins they have won the other games that he has missed but how long can they keep that up.

People are finally catching on! Lewis hasn’t since ‘13 and only once since ‘03. Annndddd this is with (7) SEVEN ten (10) ten win seasons in the last (17) SEVENTEEN years! This means two things: 1) It’s a safe bet they wont beat Chapel Hill Friday. 2) They have weak schedules year in and year out! What this translates into is: #paperchampios

It's tough doing that game after game but like RTD said you can only play 11 at a time. We got a lot of guys rested up last week and they should be ready to go. I imagine everyone of our seniors are going to try everything within their power to persuade Meigs coaching staff to keep them out there the entire game. That's how important every game is from here on out. I would say a lot of teams try to go offense / defense as much as possible throughout the year but playoff time I think you might see a little different strategy from Meigs. It wouldn't suprise me if you see every senior out there on the kickoff team to include our QB Carroll Friday night.

You act like this great victim, but go on the attack when someone has a different opinion than you or expresses it in a manner you don't care for. YOU should never make implications on how grown men should rate football or football players or be the great judge of others character. Respect is earned at any age. No free passes. You are in the minority of men if you disagree. I can respect them as humans, students, sons, boy scouts, Burger King employees. I can praise them for quality deeds in the community, but they did not earn my respect as high school linemen. This argument goes WAY deeper than just high school football. Maybe the other poster should have said "the fine young men of the Cardinal and Gray (15-0 next year, baby. RWR!!!) were a little short of the mark in their blocking this year. But they were good enough, smart enough, and doggone it, people like them because they are our precious youth". Nah, that's disgustingly weak. Ahhh, that feel's better.

I would love to see a change because I think the program needs a reboot.But if Gaddis stays I will support him and the team 100%.Only because I think he would make some big changes in how things are done.I know he loves Oak Ridge and hates to lose.For those 2 reasons I cant imagine if he is back that he keeps doing the same things.I do know there are many fans who are done with him and that makes things tough to come back from.Some of these reoccurring problems must be fixed no matter what it takes.I dont care who the HC is next yr they better not bring a pathetic Oline out there again.

PF dodged us earlier this season but miraculously healed the following week. I hope coach puts up a 100 on PF which we can if he wants.
