A new era is about to begin and I know the new staff will embrace the tradition here. The Administration is already working hard to assure that Oak Ridge remains a factor every year. I personally will miss working with Coach Gaddis as the head coach. Coach Gaddis loves Oak Ridge football more than just about anybody I have ever known including former players. I am so happy to see so much respect being paid to him all over social media. You can question any coach on their coaching but you can never question this man's love for Oak Ridge. As Principal Garfield Adams said, he's a legend.4 points

I remember someone was on a lift, off of school property, with binoculars last year still calling plays. At least that is what Murphy tweeted. That darn Murphy and his information!!!!!!!!!2 points

Commish, i don't think you have anything to apologize for. You are one of the most respected SPT posters on the T. You have always been very cordial with us HC posters over the years but as you know every fan base has their own fans that want to be the show or have the last word. I think we both have that type of fan on here.2 points

Anyone who thinks Haywood would be overconfident or anything but angry and with a chip on their shoulder doesn't know that staff, lol. They still feel like they have something to prove to South Gibson and will be highly motivated.2 points

Henry is a physical team but very slow, and looked even slower on that Munford grass last Friday night. I see the Jackets kicking it deep and making Henry drive the length of the field, seeing what they really have and not letting them start every drive at the 50 or better. Plenty of holes in that Henry secondary. Henry honestly looks slower as a team than they did earlier this season. 3rd Quarterfinals game for this very experienced senior class, think Henry will be surprised when they see this Springfield team at home in SPT playoff mode!2 points

Thanks for the confidence!! I wish yall the best against the Yellowjackets Friday night! I do believe Haywood can win this game however if the Tomcats go into this week of practice as well as the game unfocused and over confident, the Hornets will win! The hornets are too good to overlook, even a little bit!! I personally have a lot of respect for the Hornet program! Whoever wins this game better be ready for a BIG battle next week!! Both of those teams are extremely good!! Lets go Tomcats!!! Yall got this!! Hornets, if yall win Friday, I will be cheering for Yall the rest of the way!!!2 points

Agreed. Solid coach that has never gotten the credit he deserved. It’s his show now at York and I think you’ll see this program take off very soon!2 points

Great hire for HVA, he is a hard worker and really football smart. Good teacher too. He did a great job as defensive coordinator at Oak Ridge under Gaddis and he is ready to step up to a Head Coaching job. He will do a great job at Hardin Valley if the players get on board.2 points

Maybe so.. I just remember going to the games the years before and it seemed like that 2012 team had the same players and was destined for greatness. Regardless they have some great talent up there most years.1 point

I think they were evenly matched in 2012 but we just didn’t get it done.1 point

Weve not conceded, we played pretty well against you last year and we are better this year, then again, weve not beat Oneida yet, I'm betting they are not ready to throw in the towel either.1 point

Dang, with my last comment, I really figured I would fire some people up. Dead silence! If you could not tell I was totally kidding and just trying to get a few laughs from folks!1 point

I concur. But that's certainly not totally out of the question. We've seen that dance before.1 point

. “This will probably be the two best teams left in 2a playing this Friday. Shame they have to play in third round. “ https://www.coacht.com/boards/index.php?/topic/265386-mahs-westview/&do=findComment&comment=4210548 Meanwhile over on the MAHS vs Westview thread I just happened to see this post . Should we both just forfeit now or what? Awaiting further instruction.1 point

Fellow H2O posters y’all are doing an excellent job keeping these TC Turds busy while I continue writing my celebratory speech for Friday night which is scheduled to take place on the Hartsville courthouse steps. You guys have hit on some great speaking points and I will be sure to give you credit. Some of the keynotes I’ve already jotted down. 1. The resurgence of the 2039 sweat bees. 2. Fall Breaks 3. Petitions 4. Mental health issues regarding TC fans! 5. Pep Rally’s and beat Watertown apparel But I would be a fool and would completely let down 100’s of Hartsville women if I didn’t thank them for all the times they’ve helped “clear”my mind before getting on here and destroying their girlfriends ( sorry I meant husbands and boyfriends… I’m so use to them saying it … my bad) on the coach t message board… Without them… there would be no H2Oman! Hartsville women… you are the best!1 point

Yeah, but like a coach once told me, "under the table money spends in the short term, but it doesn't do you much good when you go apply for a mortgage or car loan and have to show provable income to qualify."1 point

It's tricky. Go back and watch the West vs. Rhea state semifinal game from 2015. Watch it closely, it's tricky. Especially how they get up to the ball so quickly and snap it. You really have to be paying attention to even know it's coming. Did I say Tricky?1 point

USJ has multiple ways to score, they just don't know it yet. They have a lot of weapons and a lot of hungry players. Both teams have incredible linemen. I think this game gets decided on which line can control the 4th quarter. This is single A ball so you are going to have a significant fatigue factor set in for one of these teams late because neither team has been tested much this year. Wade is 10-5 in playoffs as a head coach and Stroup is 10-7 so both head coaches have roughly same playoff head coaching experience. The right play call on crucial 3rd downs can keep the Mo going and perhaps give the linemen the confidence in the 4th quarter to put on more steam. Its very hard to compare regions and teams in the tennessee 9 division system, but this one appears to be evenly matched if they played this game last friday. If someone has something different this week in their arsenal, then they have the upper hand.1 point

I'll be here win, lose or draw. You have to come back to Springfield again next season also, hope we make it with a sour taste in your mouth. I'm not going anywhere! #SPTbrand #YJP1 point

I’m pretty sure in a roundabout way, Cats is implying that you’re blaming the lack of SRs from this past seasons team on Gaddis, as if it was his fault in some way or another, but I may be wrong? As to why the lack of SRs? From my understanding, some quit, a few became academically ineligible, and a few others transferred. Those things are something in which a Coach really doesn’t have much, if any control over.1 point

You obviously have an answer to your own question, so just share it instead of asking the question. Be sure to explain why there are are approximately 25 or more players in the freshmen, sophomore, and junior classes. I have no idea why there are only 10 seniors but I'm dying to have you tell us the answer to your own question.1 point

You mean someone would actually ask Eddie George to come speak to the team before a big game? Can anyone confirm this? This can't be true.1 point

I wouldn't say that, at Boone I have seen us beat ourselves multiple times in the same season..... heh-heh1 point

I can't believe a small community would come together to support their football team before a big game.1 point

Think it's about 4,maybe 5.But all state reciver,Clay, is back.Qb back for 2 more years. Also have good freshman qb.Most linemen are back and think top 4 running backs are back.I think 2 juniors in the group,One sophomore and a freshman that's going to be a stud. And hear middle school has a very good back.I do know they have about a 230 lb running back on the 5th grade team.Seen him play.Hes got good speed and running over people.Hes as big as the coaches.Several big boys on that team.Future is very bright.1 point

He is a night owl. Bed time is not his forte for sure. Jacketpharmer Jr has made the wise move to chose English books and Edgar Allan Poe instead of these useless banter. As far as the pep rally is concerned…. This seems to be at best mystery and at worst fantasy without some sort of evidence and confirmation. Surely the H2O faithful have sent someone undercover to the local watering hole for concrete evidence. Can anyone confirm? Side note…. If any words seem to be too complex and lack meaning, @DownHillMan is working on those dictionary copies. Just have a little patience.1 point

First of all, I wish Coach Gaddis well in his retirement and it was an honor to know him and he will always be remembered for his success at Oak Ridge and how many players and coaches passed through under him. His 1991 State Championship team was one of the best teams in TSSAA history. Just last season he coached a good team that started slow on an incredible playoff run to the finals. Good job, well done. As for his successor, I haven't heard of any frontrunners yet for the job, I would say that it may take some time, even until after Christmas break, I am sure they will probably put together a committee and once the job is posted, they will get a ton of applicants and then screen them down to about 5 to interview and then make a choice. I would say that coach will be young, maybe late 30s, early 40s, energetic, motivated, have head coaching experience (like Coach Gaddis was when he first came in 1988). He will probably be able to bring in some staff with him. He will be inheriting a pretty good team as there are quite a few returning starters and some who were out with injuries returning also. Stay tuned.1 point

Why must Minor go? He is the best young coach we have but you are right he is ready to be a HC somewhere and I'll always support him. Gaddis as the AD is interesting. Mullins is good at it but I have always hated how he wouldn't let Clary stream at home live. Just pray that everybody has the kids and school's best interest at heart. RWR!1 point
