I would like to ask all of CoachT to lift our long time poster and friend BPM up in prayer. His family as suffered a hard loss and they certainly need all the prayers they can to lift them up.
BPM, you certainly have my thoughts and prayers. We love you buddy!
We do have a good supply of skill guys from our middle schools, what we are lacking is a good supply of the big uglys on the line. A big reason why we were 3-8 was we were missing 3 starters and a talented freshman backup for almost the whole season. We just didn't have the talent and/or numbers to be competitive with the better teams on our schedule.
I understand your point about relatability, but I don't think CSC has had that problem with any of his stops. Oridgecat has written much about stepping it up in terms of effort on the field and effort in the weight room, so I will not repeat what he has written except to say that I agree 100%.
I’d be willing to say he has flipped to story up in Canada to make himself look good. But anyways, I’m still angry about it and it will always stick with me, but only in the back of mind because the front is full of Gold trophies without him.
Very well said. Adapt or die and he’s adapted while others have died. Prime example is the Fulton program, high school all the way down. Josh seems to have been the one who was able to get the players there. Their high program and youth program has dropped like an anchor since his departure.
Blazer, Let me give you some insight. We have had 4 losing seasons in 79 years of football and 2 of those were in '43 and '44, our first two football teams. We have 8 state championships and 1 national championship. Oak Ridge football has been traditionally good if not excellent consistently for 75 out of 79 years. We know what it takes to be champions and have done things in the past to remain a top tier program. So being excellent at football has always been a priority in Oak Ridge until recently. What I'm trying to tell folks is that the current admin, school board and city leaders need to step it up and get the things done that they know need to happen in order to allow the program to excel.
Cliff notes: Being Excellent at football used to be a top priority. Is it still? We are about to find out.
I'm just a alum who played there a few decades ago (manual was in place prior my arrival). Personally, I have no patience for coaching or parents it is just easier to sit here and talk shop and Monday QB with the real minds. Being married to a teacher myself only solidifies my stance on having no patience for kids everyday. But I do think JJ gets a bad rap here by many who choose to not acknowledge he didn't invent this environment, he just adapted to it. I wish JJ the best but his success or how he does at Bearden has no impact on me.
I think it will be interesting to see who CSC brings in on his staff. Is there any rumors of him trying to bring coaches with him from halls or any other knoxville schools? I believe these hires will play a BIG factor in how the turnaround process begins at Oak Ridge.
Although it's a plus to be playing your best at tournament time, that brings up a memory about that last coach at DB. I don't remember his exact words but he more or less said regular season games don't matter. I think he got down to 6 wins in his final season. I hope Poore isn't using this same philosophy. The great Buck Van Huss believed in being ready in game one and winning every game.
Yeah I did. I'm glad they proved me wrong. Guess it show's what happens when you have a group of coaches and players come together and amazing things that can happen. I just wish I could have been there for those last few games. That stupid covid hit me hard, but I was listening to it and those young men made this older man feel a lot better. But, I beat covid, thank God, and my family who got it.
They can laugh all they want. We are happy to have him. And Cleveland will never sniff a championship in football again as long as there's an OaKland and a Murvil.
@CzarStar865 the big bird has been kicked out of finer establishments before! @HTV Look at every thread you post on.....So called "sources" don't know there rear ends from a hole in the ground. Just admit to the big bird and all of coacht that you don't know all.
The New Word for Tomorrow at William Blount will be "Racoon Eyes".
Shad has been telling fans with so many returning starters coming back next season that most people won't Racoon Eyes us.
Point that finger all day long, but if you look back I have been on the right track a lot more than I have missed.
But by all means, keep pointing your fingers.
And linking yourself with Czarwhateverhecallshimselftoday tells me all that I need to know.
Have a good life, brother. Enjoy that self superiority attitude.
