  1. I also understand that at least one of the tenured teacher/coaches from the previous Oak Ridge staff who are going elsewhere just to coach is being reassigned to one of the middle schools to open up a teaching spot for a coming hire.

  2. My guess is that if not for that rule Greenback would double overnight in enrollment because of it being a newer school.

  4. Yea South Gibson will be a team we will definitely play 4 times. Not looking too far ahead it’s definitely possible that both us make it to Murfreesboro! Of course it’s one game at a time! You have Creek Wood & I believe the other team will be Murfreesboro Central Magnet School. CW is decent but other than that district 9 & district 10 is very very down this year. So it’s possible that district 12 could have 2 in Murfreesboro Yea I haven’t seen Hardin County yet but I was shocked to see them lose to Bolivar last night! They beat Bolivar 51-12 in bolivar & lost 49-42 at home. I am wondering did Bolivar have some new players after the Christmas break. I am not comparing but we beat Bolivar 73-40. Loretto’s coach is a beast! I really like her & how she handles everything! Oh yea I will be in the building tonight & check South Gibson out

  5. You have no idea! Not to be ugly but WB would have a hard time winning 1 or 2 games and I'm being serious. You should see the kids from WB who are starters that show up each summer trying to figure something out. This rule is crippling to our team every 5 or 6 years.Property is just too high to up and move for some folks. Also hard to find now. That would probably change if they would make the right hire instead of looking for a miracle maker. Dont mean to high jack just conversing!

  6. Since this class period is just 2 years, wish they could have taken a look at rural-urban. It wouldn't take care of all issues but in general it's more difficult for rural players to transfer/move in for 9th grade from a different feeder since they're more spread out. It was a topic in the state meetings a few years ago and got a vote but never was a serious threat to come about.

  7. I think everyone has pretty much played everyone first time around may be couple snow reschedules. L.A. is definitely the deepest, if coach Riddle can fine tune her rotations, get the right breaks, could win out regular season and a trip to the glass house is very possible. Dodgen may get hot at right time like at Cannon County and get to that substate game to have a chance.

  9. What takes SP so long to hire a coach? You have 2 guys already there that won a state championship last year. Looks like you would have learned a lesson with the last hire. Bigger is not always better. Let the guys who love and care about SP football do the job.

  12. The New Word of the Day at William Blount is "Hoochie Mama". Well those applications are in so somebody call Mr. Cupp and ask Hoochie Mama going to pick to coach us this time.

  13. They should be well ahead of where they are right now. I'm sure a lot of that stunted growth is due to the revolving door at HC. But, I also don't think they're getting the athletes they thought they would get. The school may be too far away from the population pockets up there to draw the kids. Just my opinion,

  14. We feel your pain my friend. No one wants to see what's happened at WB no matter where your from or who ever you pull for. Most of this stuff that's posted is to lite a fire under someone to take some action. I would hate it if some thought wasn't put into the next hire. This is a program that can move forward if the right person is chosen but going on history I have my doubts.

  15. I’d think the writing is about on the wall for the next hire. As It should be… Go orange! Go black! One time get your mind right.

  16. Because it's a lateral move at best. He would still be in the public system, probably take a pay cut, and winning percentage wouldn't get better than where he currently is. Private division or out of state and he can retire from the public system and earn a separate paycheck. I also don't get the "become" a powerhouse comment... they're the state champions already, and have a long history of being a "powerhouse".

  17. Lee Hayes was a true character. I have gotten to know him the last few years since McKenzie and Peabody had renewed the series. My two kids and Lees kids, specifically Mary Grace, attend church camp together and CPYC. Lee and I would always chat during football season and we had a mutual respect for one another. Never once did we let the game get bigger than us. We always kept it civil. Ben’s senior year, when the tide and the Rebels went to double overtime, near the end of the 4th quarter when it looked as though the Rebels were going to win, Lee came out of the middle of the pressbox. As he passed myself and my radio partner, I could see not the face of a football fan but the face of a Dad who was watching his son play his last game. Well, we all know how that ended. But from what I know of Lee, he loved his kids and Golden Tide football. I will miss our banter moving forward. When the Rebels went to Chatt this past season, Lee Hayes sent me a message and said Go Rebels. Bring it home. We will miss you Lee Hayes and you better believe when the Tide and Rebels bump heads next year, I will make sure there is a huge shout out for you. As a hard core Vol fan, it is hard for me to say “Roll Tide” but for you Lee, I say it. Rest easy friend.
