Don't agree with some of the predictions, but it's good to get the conversation started. Real football will be here soon enough
Our fans need to back away from the ledge. We may not be in the semifinals, or maybe even second round but we should make the playoffs. I mean, I hope we can eek out a win against Harpeth and Whites Creek. Also, what is this Blake moving up business? Up where? Administration?
I'm sure the school and coaches thank you, but I'm not sure if the fans do. As a fan, I would like to thank you and the rest of the chain gang for the excellent job y'all do.
Murphy is working on a different sort of book now...while he is "retiring" from doing his annual assessment of HS football teams in order to spend more time with family, he is also compiling stories from various coaches and others associated with HS football into book form. Hopefully it will be out soon!
Not to mention he was one of the nicest men you could ever run into. People that criticize him are probably miserable. The kind of people you can not make happy regardless of what you try to do. If you cured cancer they would complain that it took you too long.... Murphy worked really hard and was treasure to high school football in this state. I wish him a happy retirement.
Murphy Fair did a lot of great things for high school football across the state of TN for such a long period of time. Donovan Stewart does an amazing job covering high school football as well. Instead of criticizing and trying to throw shade at Murphy Fair for what he knew/didn’t know perhaps you should be appreciative of the good things he did to promote high school football and young people across the state for so many years.
Happy Retirement Murphy! Hope to catch you at a game sometime.
The Mercy Rule is the second best rule change in high school football. The best rule change is the 40 second play clock. And for those of you that complain about your younger players not getting reps, go schedule JV/freshman games with the larger schools (public or private) in your area. You'll get all the reps you want.
Yea I couldn't agree more. At the end of the day this is high school kids who love the sport just as much as the guys from Oakland, and other powerhouses. Red Boiling Springs has had 13-16 kids total on their football team at times and they take the field as happy as can be. Does it suck for those guys, to me it does but to them Fridays are the best nights of the week.
