  1. In Freestyle we had more cadets make day 2 than ever before but as the they got close to the blood round our boys just pooped the bed one after another and we only got 2 stop signs. Fast forward to Cadet Greco and one after another our boys just kept finding a way to win. We now have seven Tennessee boys that are going to get a stop sign tomorrow. SEVEN!!! To compare how incredible this is, the most stop signs Tennessee has ever gotten in one Fargo in both styles and both cadets and juniors was 2029 when we got 10 total stops signs. Today, our Cadets got SEVEN in one style. Tennessee is now bringing home 11 stop signs so far and our Juniors haven’t wrestled Greco yet!

  2. MC has brought in a new defensive coordinator this year. I feel that MC defense will be better this year than it has been the past couple of seasons. They may be what carries this team in the first few games of the season to get the offense going, especially with a new quarterback (a very talented one at that).

  3. @WarEagleCartmanI believe people are tired of this thread, and I think it has ventured far from being a topic that should be in the 1A-2A subforum. Let’s just agree to disagree and give people a break. You’re not going to change my mind, and I’m not going to change yours. Now, to answer your question…I certainly would. Lexington has a great football history especially under the tenure of Coach Jim Stowe (the father of Dyersburg coach Bart Stowe). The Tomcats and Tigers have similar stats, but I would give Haywood the advantage. 1. State Championships – Haywood 0, Lexington 0 (Haywood is 2-4 in 6 semifinal appearances. Lexington is 0-4 in 4 semifinal appearances.) 2. All Time Wins – Haywood 696 , Lexington 531. Haywood and Lexington have met 21 times throughout history. Haywood leads the series 12-7-2. Haywood has had 75 winning seasons, Lexington has had 57 3. Recent Success Wins over the last 5 decades including 2020 and 2021 - Haywood 385, Lexington 371 Wins over the last 5 years - Haywood 56 (with 3 district titles-2019,2020,2021), Lexington 32 (with 1 district title-2020) Haywood has won 16 playoff games over the past 5 years.. Lexington’s has won 5 playoff games over the past 5 years Haywood has played in four straight semifinals (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021), Lexington has played in one semifinal during that time (2020). Haywood defeated Lexington 17-14 in the 2020 state semifinals. 4. Consistency Haywood has won 10 or more games every year over the past 6 years, Lexington has won 10 or more games only once (2020) in the last 6 years. Community Support – Advantage Lexington.

  4. I believe that lowering the mercy rule threshold does nothing but further soften an already soft society. Teams who don't believe in or can't kick an extra point get an extra touchdown drive for all practical purposes vs teams that have good kicking games. I would be ok with a 30 point football mercy rule under one condition. That condition is that it not start until the 4th quarter. Jmo Once again, we change a rule that did not need changing.

  5. Yeah the new staff has a whole new way of doing business. I'm impressed with the discipline. Hope it keeps up, and they seemed to have weeded out the ones that don't want to work!

  6. Truth of the matter is, I would like to see a few new mixture of games. Can you imagine a PC vs Riverdale or MJ, Cane Ridge vs Blackman etc. Hurricane sounds like an old metro coach that is now out of Metro or he has is just out of the loop. EN did have a heck of a strength of schedule, and I do know for a fact they tried to schedule PC but PC only had 2 available dates and CR was already scheduled for PC and I don't care how good the game would be PC isnt taking MBA off the schedule with the check they get from that game. Murfreesboro isn't the SEC of HS like people make it seem. Oakland is dominant , RIverdale is becoming a good team again, Blackman well lets just say they are not what they have been hyped to be, while Siegal, Smyrna , Lavergne are average teams. I think we all are just ready to watch some ball. I do think Hurricane had a few points, not many , but a few. I believe the Keyshawn Vaughn Era should of won a Gold Ball.

  7. I fully agree with you. Haywood County is definitely in the top 5 to 7 in West Tennessee football history.

  8. The young man is a good kid and a good football player. I, personally, will miss him, but it is a valid reason and one not in his control. Not knowing exactly what McKenzie returns on the line, I believe he will help as he started for us on the D-Line last year.

  10. Definitely not what I heard. I heard the middle school was more of a political side show. However… I will say that it looked like every boy in the middle school played on the team! The dugout was absolutely full when I watched them!

  11. What kind of mess is this? Did Marion Madness move to Decatur? I hope my brother don't see this mess. You think I'm jokin but I'm not

  12. Should be a very interesting season in Blount County with lots of questions to be answered. Can Osovet and Reeves start to turn around their programs? Will there be any drop off at Alcoa with Rankin gone? Which Shad will turn up at Eagleton, the one that won state championships or the one that flopped at WB? What will be the impact of all the shuffling between schools that's happened with assistant coaches? How will Eagleton affect the surrounding schools? How will the transfer QBs at a couple of schools do?

  14. Thankfully, the middle school had a good baseball coach this past year or they wouldn't have been good at anything.
