  1. Big placement by Nate Askew of Baylor at U15 UWW Pan AM trials. Nate finished 2nd in Free and 5th in Greco. Hardly any TN HS kids have ever placed at this tourney so this is legit.

  2. The last thing Crockett County can avoid is to start 0-3. Starting 0-3 is a killer for their apparent momentum. So, Crockett County has apparently improved, but how much? Did they close the gap on North Side? I'm not sure. I do think North Side will take a step back, but I do believe the Indians have what it takes to hold off Crockett County. I'm hearing the safety for North Side will be a player to watch. North Side will head to Paris to play McCracken County in the Henry County Jamboree. However, this was a district that underperformed well in 2021. The team I'm curious to see is Obion Central, just to see if they have improved at all from 2021. However, I'm more excited to see how South Gibson will participate in 2022. I really thought they made a sneaky good hire in Ben Johnson. All he has to do continue to build team from what Scott Stidham did in Medina. I know Haywood fans weren't happy about the lack of scheduling. August 26, Haywood has Oakhaven. I wish the Tomcats hit I-40 and head onto 840 and play against 6A Independence. That's Scott Stidham's new team, and they have the #1 player in the state in Ty Lockwood (he flipped from Ohio State to Alabama last week), and a Junior QB that is getting looked at by WKU, Pittsburgh, and Miami (OH). That game would benefit both schools more than anything Haywood vs Oakhaven and Independence vs Trezevant on 8/26. North Side's offense needs new creativity and be more productive in big games. Obion Central needs to improve as a whole. Crockett County needs to average 28-30 points, and shed off 10 points a game on defense. For Milan, I think everything has to go right for them to succeed. 1. Haywood 2. South Gibson 3. Milan 4. North Side 5. Obion Central 6. Crockett County. I just have questions about Crockett that needs to be answered before I believe them. Side note: Lausanne playing at Humboldt on September 23 and at South Gibson on October 20. Lausanne's Quarterback, Brock Glenn, is an Ohio State commit. Just want to throw that out there.

  3. They are actually lazy and don’t want to do their job.

  4. No doubt there are people that don’t follow the rules. They get away with it because TSSAA is incompetent.

  5. 1. Covington has been doing well this summer and brings back everyone. 2. Ripley I hear they have struggled some with SG and Obion but still think they put it all together. 3. Dyersburg got beat up on by Milan but hands down at the very least the 3rd best team in this region. 4. Millington heard they lost quite a bit but also didn't look bad against North Side. 5. Bolivar It's 5th, they beat Bolton last year and probably should beat them again. 6. Bolton no clue really, didn't impress last year, I doubt they put up much of a fight this year.

  7. Dyersburg will be tough. Peabody may have trouble with them. Don’t know yet. I will definitely be at the Peabody Milan game for sure.

  8. Did Gibson Co scrimmage anyone last Friday? If so how did it go. If not, when was their last scrimmage.

  9. I’ve kinda been thinking the same thing all summer.

  10. BA had the biggest line we have seen so far. We got LA Friday.

  11. I'm not a reporter, but I am from RuCo - it was ugly for Summit (I was shocked). Maybe some of the Summit guys missed the bus?

  12. So you think over 25 miles even private to private they can still live in House A?? I have heard of the 25 mile rule but I haven’t the slightest idea on the details of the rule. Good luck to you guys this year. Tell your dad I said Hi and hope all is well.

  13. This is a part of an article I saw in the Paris Post-Intelligencer. It doesn't say a lot, but I thought some fellow Tomcat fans might like reading it. "The Patriots will wrap up preseason drills on Aug. 12 when they host the Henry County Football Jamboree at Patriot Stadium. Play will begin at 5:30 p.m. with West Carroll taking on Stewart County in two quarters of action. The 6:30 p.m. contest pits Jackson North Side against Paducah Tilghman with Henry County meeting Haywood County at 7:30 p.m. At 8:30 p.m., McKenzie takes on McCracken County, Ky. and at 9:30 p.m., McCracken County will play Dresden. Tickets for the jamboree will be sold at the Patriot Stadium gates. They will cost $10. Counce says Haywood County offers the Patriots a different kind of challenge. “They may not be the kind of program that pays quite as much attention to the details as Christian Brothers or MBA do, but they challenge with the sheer amount of athleticism they put out on the field. After playing the kind of detail-oriented teams, I like having to face a little looser and more athletic team like this that will force us to react in different ways because we are going to see all kinds of teams before the season is over,” said Counce."

  14. I will tell you even though UC was dealing with injury issues when we tied Dresden’s starters 3-3, Dresden has a very talented football team. They are hard hitting and never give up. #5 is a special player and their quarterback is accurate and big and will lower his head and run over people if he has to. Just a warning do not overlook Dresden or you will regret it. Best of luck this season Dresden Lions. Much respect From Union City

  16. Cant blame anyone for going home. The only issue with Greenfield is the number of students / players. Greenfield has done a great job the last few years of getting the most out of what they have. In the end it's just hard to compete with larger schools. Wishing Greenfield good luck on the search!!!

  17. Sure, that way i can eat my crow if i’m dead wrong lol. And you’re right as far as the 2. Strong recent history, and both bringing back a ton of talent. 1. Ravenwood 2. Summit And i think Centennial surprises a lot of people. I don’t think they will have the fire power to compete with the top dawgs, but they’re going to be good.

  18. So your problem is people there have options? Rural people move. Kids switch schools. Seems to happen every where. Charter schools are plague on the public school system diverting funds that could be used to improve the existing schools. Those kids and parents deserve better and I hope they are getting better at MASE but unless you know of some impropriety by Coach Miller why shouldn’t he be working at MASE?

  19. What difference does it make? I don’t think MAHS or MASE are zoned schools. So those students probably didn’t live near MAHS either. Also coach Miller is a good coach with a good reputation. If you had a coaching vacancy and he is available why wouldn’t you hire him. Why is it every time a Memphis school is possibly going to be good these boards start whining?

  20. Did what exactly? Their school closed. They had to go to a different school. If Humboldt City Schools closed tomorrow and all the football players went to Medina and Trenton nobody would be on here saying a word. There isn’t even anything to investigate here.
