Of course i'm a little partial but Jerry "cheese" Richmond is as good as they come and has a resume that is hard to match. 40 years play by play for Trousdale County, 493 games! He also did some work for TSSAA in the 90s alongside Murphy Fair. Jerry is the ultimate professional and very detail orientated. You can find him at 93.5 fm 1090 am or the FunRadio TN app.3 points

Your CoachT Account should be shut down for even posting such a stupid post3 points

This thread isn’t about them. No doubt the recruit as well. You know as well as I do that Maryville has benefitted from many a timely “transfer”. It is what it is, but just admit it. Your WB QB this year still looks like he is at WB2 points

I don't know about endurance. We stayed with AC the whole game and we were supposed to be outmatched.2 points

MiF, if AC doesn’t win it this year, I am afraid it will not happen in your lifetime. And with the amount of rhetoric you spew about the MAVS, it better happen.2 points

IMHO and it may not be popular, but if there is a mass exodus it looks worse on the parents and kids than the coach. It looks to me that Hartsville has more issues than a coach or Jimmie and Joes. No one likes to lose, but you don’t quit midseason on your teammate's and if you are a parent you shouldn’t condone it! I don’t like TC, but hopefully this doesn’t happen!2 points

Really? I don’t think I have ever complained about referees on this board before. What has become predicable is you starting a negative CPA thread every week. I mean it’s cool if it brings you joy, but seems like you would rather talk about your team’s game and how well they are playing this year.1 point

Gave the game away and shouldn't have been close? Come on now eers, I watched the game and it was two great teams going at it in week one. Beech gave up 417 yards of offense 211 through the air and 206 on the ground. Beech even took the lead 21-17 with 6 min to go int the third, Farragut responded five minutes later with a 35-yard touchdown pass to claim a 24-21 lead after 36 minutes.Courtney scored only 10 seconds into the 4th for a 28-24 advantage, but two minutes later, the Admirals took the lead for good on Gibbs’ second touchdown run of the night after a 63 yard pass to set it up. it was 31-28 and you all had the ball with a little less than 10 min left and couldn't score with Farragut coming up with two 4th quarter stops. Farragut has gotten better as the season has progressed also and you thinking Beech is 3td better than Farragut has you looking through orange and blue glasses.1 point

Records and streaks can't go on forever....I hate it had to end under DH. My opinion (which isn't worth much) is that DH and company right the ship and win out the regular season (even beating West) and roll on to the Semi's against Oakland. I won't make a prediction on that game, but I believe Maryville will be there. But, even if I am wrong and they are not able to right the ship this season, Maryville isn't going anywhere....DH is still a good coach and he is 10 times a better man than he is a coach. Maryville is very lucky to have a man like DH leading their young men. Go Rebels, go win it all!!1 point

Not completely, McCallie had a hand in that. Do you not remember they caused State to be delayed in '95?1 point

They should have played each other when these two classes were 8th graders. It would have been a war.1 point

Being the local expert in all things Baxter, does Baxter have a library? If so they need a few copies of FOOTBALL for DUMMIES so some of the folks up there can check them out to read up on rules and such. Somehow I ended up on the Baxter side Friday and had to listening to some the most clueless fans I've ever been around ----anywhere. ( Not all- I may have gotten mixed in the "oohh .....you mean them" section ) but dang, some of them have no idea what they are looking at.1 point

If a WB student in the county goes to Maryville without moving inside the city it cost $2,400 for tuition. WB is totally surrounded by the city and walking distance to the school. If one of those city residents go to WB it's free. I know a handful of students that went to either WB or Heritage for a better chance to play. I can assure you none of the four schools are running over like a water faucet left on but you never hear of the city kids going to the county schools because their not winning.1 point

Yup, Alcoa pulled Starters in 2nd qtr. up 38-0. 1st and 2nd never played the remaining game. Rhea County is a very young team. They will improve every game. Likewise, Besty is on a fast track to improving every game. Come playoff's the Cyclones might make some noise.1 point

Gotcha, I can't tell anymore who is trolling, who is flaming, who is being sarcastic, who is joking, who is serious on here anymore. lol. There is a lot of frustration and disappointment for sure. But it is not time to start trashing and blaming everybody. Instead, we all need to stick together and support these guys through the tough times, try to slip into a playoff spot and see what we can do in November.1 point

Cookeville has a population of almost 36,000 in it. Upperman gets to get players from a very large city unlike most schools around the upper Cumberland. A city with a college and everything else in it. It’s a huge advantage compared to other schools that don’t have a big city to get players from. This is why the bee’s are very good in every sport. I for one am not impressed. Huge huge advantage and yes I know Upperman don’t make the rules but it’s still a big time advantage.1 point

3 of Alcoa tds came from messed up punts and got the ball inside EN 30 each time. When Alcoa had to drive the field to score they couldn’t. Go back and watch the whole game and not some 5 min highlight reel y’all posted. Take away those 3 messed up punts and the fumble and the game is different. But I didn’t get on here to go back and forth with y’all about 2021. This a whole new season and y’all still talking about last year. I got on here to brag on how good EN is looking this season. I see all the back and forth childish stuff y’all do on these message boards and I’m not with that. With that being said see y’all Dec 21 point

I can agree on the parenting part, My parents never let me quit in season, if I wanted to I had to wait until after that season ended. And you may be correct about the rest, but as the sign says in the locker room, we are not the most disciplined, the hardest working, and best conditioned team anymore, and some of that falls on the Coach. I am frustrated because the kids we do have are playing their tails off, and the coach is getting a bye from a big contingent of TC old timers. This is the 1st year that Coach has not had enough talent to win however he wants, and it has been a train wreck of a season all the around.1 point

Their actually the worst 6-1 team in the state right now because of a soft schedule. I realize Pigeon Forge and Northview had a bearing on losing a lot of kids but Sevier County is growing fast enough to quit using that as an excuse why the football program isn't as strong as it once was. I have nothing against Sevier County and only wish them the best.T are. They need to quit worrying about a wild goose chase on Coach T and put that energy towards the football field. Sevier County has always been a crazy place that I can remember back in the old days they were so hard up to go to a season ending bowl game that they created their own called the Smokey Bowl played on Thanksgiving Day and be playing in that with a losing record because nobody else would invite them to theirs. When I played football in high school we played them at their old field with a county fair going on right beside the football field.1 point

I can't believe Oak Ridge was in the championship game back in 2020. It seems like it was so much longer ago than that.1 point

I agree Spanky , we have the Personnel to have a great pass rush this year , and our secondary is a little suspect . Rushing 3 definitely doesn't play into our strengths . I absolutely hate a 3 man rush , I couldn't imagine a more timid mindset for Defense . This Defense could still be a great Defense , we played very tough against Alcoa . This defense has proven that when they play aggressive they can make plays ... they've also proven that if they play prevent , it only prevents us from winning . I've seen this coaching staff make adjustments to get the most out of their team during the season and I think we'll see that again .1 point

I see what you’re saying, but we’ve had a lot of very good years since the 70s. The 80s and 90s, and even the first decade of the 2000s were filled with really good OR football teams. Just because we didn’t win any state championships during that time (barring 1991) doesn’t mean we didn’t have really good teams. In the late 80s and multiple times in the 90s the 2 Murfreesboro teams (Oakland & Riverdale) were just a tad bit better. @MidTennFootball can vouch for that. You say it as if we haven’t been relevant at all since the 70s, which just isn’t the case. I would compare those 80s and 90s teams to the past few Maryville teams. Very good teams, but Oakland just slightly better. That was the case between OR and Riverdale in those days. Heck, we were in the state title game just a few years ago in 5A. People can say whatever they want (and if I’m being completely honest I thought we were lucky as he$& to make it there), but we still made it. A lot of teams would’ve loved to have had the success we’ve had since the 70s. Not everyone can be Maryville, Alcoa, and Oakland.1 point

This is the second year for Beech in 6A. Last year region 5 swept region region. Not saying it will happen again, but let’s not pretend you have a clue what you’re talking about.1 point

Devilman is who MJG is probably referring to? BVD which is short for BigVolDaddy, is the one who made some videos in the past for the Greene Devil football team. I hope to see some new videos coming from BVD for the post season.1 point

1010 WHIN had a guy so excited doing radio that he got cuffed by the cops during a game. Go check them out on Friday nights westmoreland prodcast. Geoff combs is on there now along with terry McCormick that is the titans insider as well. A youngman named Lucas Carter is filling in for the cuffed announcer and loves football as also1 point

It's crazy to think all the good teams that have come through Gordonsville only 2 wins in the last 34 games. That just gives you an idea of the choke hold Trousdale has had for so many years on 1A/2A football in this area. I see where Trousdales youth football teams are a combined 14-1 this year so help is on the way. It's just currently in 1st - 6th grade.1 point

WBNT FM Oneida online at hive105.com. Same broadcast with streaming at IH sports network on YouTube. They cover Oneida and Scott county. The Oneida crew does a great job. They’re homer’s but not detractors from the opponents. They pull for Oneida but give credit where due and call it the way it’s happening.1 point

There are good points to that, and some bad ones...if you use a hard and fast cutoff number, who sets it? There's potential for some underhandedness in setting the cutoff on the front end, and even more for "adjusting" to that number if you're reporting to TSSAA. I sort of like the TSSAA's proposal regarding not being classified with schools twice the enrollment, but think that it would be better to start on the bottom end and work upward than start with the largest and work down. My logic is there's a smaller advantage between 2,800 students and 1,400 if we're talking about selecting 80 kids to play football than there is a 200 vs. 400 enrollment finding 11 "good" athletes to put on the field every snap.1 point

The brackets are on the TSSAA website. The AAA playoffs in '71 were MBA, Covington, Red Bank and Tennessee from Bristol. There were several undefeated teams who didn't make the play-offs.1 point
