  1. So proud of my cousin. Her grandfather was one of my high school coaches and her grandmother is my 2nd cousin. Yes! Clay County was rooting for Gordonsville.

  2. Since everyone seemed to get off topic about the game. I would like to highlight Gordonsville senior golfer Sophie Linder just won her 4th consecutive Class A Individual State Golf Championship!!! Pretty amazing feat for her. I believe is an Ole Miss commit as.

  3. It's official. Recruiting is the name of the game in HS football now. Well at least it's out on the table now and people can stop pretending that they are not cheating. lol.

  5. There is consistent talk of parents being responsible (because they wanted little Johnny to get a wrestling trophy) but after reading as much as I could find I don't think it was parents. It was a handful of school administrators and coaches with an agenda. Right or wrong they were successful in getting what they wanted. It also seems to me that football was the driver and nothing else really played all that much of a role.

  7. To me, the biggest win by UC was their win over USJ. Yes, they destroyed LC but the Falcons were in the middle of a coaching upheaval at the time. That had much to do with the scoring difference. The rest of their wins they were supposed to win big. Thus, nothing extraordinary there. Westview defeating UC like they did was a statement win. With the way USJ has played since the UC win earlier, they have been on an absolute tear. I now wonder if that close victory was a big win or a fluke win. I'm much more impressed with Westview right now.

  10. This list is spot on. It took us a while to get our strings together. For anyone that went to Dresden/McKenzie, I'm curious to see what happened in that game. Not surprised in the outcome, but surprised in the beatdown.

  11. UC won’t complain or make excuses 3 starters was out and I believe 3 that played at around 50% or so , they took their L and made zero excuses, but with so many Gold Balls since 2009 they know how to act , they know what matters and that more hardware, just like Tide fans Have been letting the birds chirp the chirp all year , we know we aren’t near full strength yet , but will be , UC will be fine !!!

  12. Thank you my friend, I feel the same way. I know sometimes I ruffle feathers, but I always try to give an honest assessment. I’m right sometimes. I’m wrong sometimes. I never try to upset people, though sometimes my opinions seem to offend them. Friday I expect a physical game, with good sportsmanship, from two well coached teams and excited fans bases. That said, I stand behind my prediction… BHS 31 SHS 14

  13. I’d agree with that 100%!!! Good luck and hopefully the injury bug stays always from both teams leading into these last few games of the regular season!!

  14. I would agree with that. Tough times don't last, but tough people do. I think about the low numbers that TC has right now. Just think about trying to get kids to come out next spring. It will be a challenge, but the ones who are there need to stick it out.

  16. Why would you not put Watertown in region 4 to make it a 5 team region?

  17. It's an art. Some do it with an "in your face" style, while others slink about the shadows and throw cowardly jabs when people least expect it...the true masters elicit the response they seek with a gentle nature, an aura of bewilderment, and an innocent persona...I humbly acknowledge your Zen level of enlightenment.

  26. Yes sir Satterfield started in 85.We went to CB in 88 and got whipped 48-0 regular season but in 87 we beat them twice once in reg season then 12-0 in first round.Coach Mullinax Coached at Tellico when my boys played them he is one of my all time favorite opposing coaches very classy!

  27. An old coach called these games “memory games.”40 years from now the 4th team tailback tells his wifey for the 50th time and his grands for the 10th time how he turned on his 5.1 jets and slowly sprinted to the end zone 81 yards away. The yellow newspaper clipping said it was an 18 yard run.

  34. Bless their little Governor pea pickin hearts. You all will have to sub before the half. William Blount can not defend themselves. It will be tough on the Indian coaching staff trying to accomplish goals and doing the right thing at the same time.

  37. I am a hard-core Boone fan but to be fair your skepticism has some validity. Boone's opponents thus far are 14-25. But all we can do is play the games that were scheduled and try to win them.

  39. Your QB and RB are exceptional athletes...if you can complete some short passes to open the middle up, you could be a problem for most teams. One glaring flaw that I saw...on the RPO, the QB needs to make better reads. Maybe not reads, but he needs to keep the ball up the gut more. Several times our linebackers shifted into what would have been a one on one with him keeping the ball, yet he stuck it in 22's gut and left it there. One good move on the LB and the safety has to save a touchdown. Don't know SF's style, but they seem to throw the ball around some, could give you problems if the safety creeps up like against us before the snap. Good luck to the Vikings...I'm still a fan of your program from the respect y'all showed my Lions when the Jacob Tucker teams were rolling and we were trying to start a varsity schedule...Go Vikes!!!

  40. Jackets defense gave up 22 pts to HC....8 of them in OT from the 10 yd line. I don’t think Jackets can line up in power and run at will on Beech either. The first half of last week was by far the worst passing performance of the entire season. If the Jackets are clicking offensively they can move the ball and score. If they come out squandering opportunities they will be in another uphill battle. Jackets defense also has to try and slow down Beech rush attack.

  41. Agreed MJGB….. after watch HC/Springfield on SocialDweebs and SC/MJ on YT and seeing West as they are nearby, I look forward to this one. I think the overall quality of football is currently down on the Eastside in 5A/6A. You heard it hear first, the 5A champ comes out of the West!

  45. Did you just brag about beating 4 teams that have a combined record of 8-18 and only one having a winning record at 4-3? Then say your QB play is Meh? Thats not good competition my guy. Red Bank is a top 10 4a football team this year which is respect but until they can compete and at least make the Semi's that top level of respect won't be there. Respect is earned not Given!

  46. No doubt at this point in the season, Greeneville has the better record and is the better team. Schedule wise, Oak Ridge has played a tougher schedule mostly without a bunch of key starters. Most were back last week against Pal except Rogers, who is a very athletic type game breaker, who can go to the football and make plays in the defensive secondary, where Pal got most of their points last Friday. Not sure if he will be back for Greeneville, and OR has a short week to get ready for a key Region game on Packervision against Karns on the following Thursday, so he may not play this Friday, SO, I look for this to be a pretty good game, OR is a team that looks to be a click off from being a very good team, and if they put all the pieces together they might can beat anybody, To win, OR must eliminate the turnovers, penalties (especially delay of games) and execute on offense. I think the defense can keep them in any game up to a certain point, last week 10-7 Pal at halftime, but the offense has to do more to score and keep the defense off the field. Greeneville wins, but not a blowout, more like 28-14, and if the Wildcats get a break or two they might get the upset.
