  1. I don't know what this "You Guys" thing even is since if you could read I've already said I wasn't an Alcoa Supporter but a supporter of another 4a team. You really think the 4a conferences that Alcoa would be put in is that much better than the 3a conference that Alcoa is in? (outside of AC that conference is Slaw and if they put them in the Chattanooga regions it's even worse) Alcoa moving to 4a would be the favorite to win it all, they would have tougher playoff games with Greeneville, Betsy, and AC in Quad 1and would make for better 2nd and Quarter final games but first round and Semi's would be the same ole same ole. I still believe Alcoa would be the favorite and this is coming from someone who supports a team with 4 gold balls and a Silver in 4a and arguable the best 4a program in Tennessee since the TSSAA going to 6 classifications

  2. Halley's Comet and East Robertson football region championships are both irregular events. These Fayetteville kids have been together since 7th grade. They've been a force in our area.

  4. Towner man Wendy has enough for both of us to love on at the same time. That goat of mine is standing up near the jailhouse helping direct traffic toward the speedway. That man at Ronnies red eye says they is rumbling of that transfer portal having some new additions. You think im joking but im not.

  13. Thanks, I must have misheard my friend from Milan when he told me. Yes they will be very good in 2A. Which if thats where they fit with enrollment which they have to then folks are gonna have a tough time with them. New coach there is doing a good job from what I hear and at least he ain't the old coach.

  14. Ain’t scared to move up or avoiding Alcoa 3A.

  15. All this talk about Alcoa being scared and not moving up. All it is, is all the haters that are just jealous of what they have accomplised in 3A with 3A enrollment nunbers. Which is from what tssaa says is where they r suppose to be!!!! Its not just football where the excel. Its in the class room where they r one of the top education schools around. Its in girls softball and basketball. Its in track ( without a track to practice on). Its a standard that Alcoa holds there students to for them to succeed. So set ur bar higher and quit whinning. Nothing would change if they was 4a either. There s not a team in for 4a that could challenge them

  20. I'm assuming you mean these teams voluntarily moved from 5A to 6A? I must be missing something (likely) but why would you move from 5A to 6A? How could that possibly be beneficial for them?
    1 point
  21. Please provide the rule then and i'll stand corrected. Go and compare Alcoa's schedule to any public school around here no matter the classification who plays Maryville every year? Who played the best team in 5a in Knox West? Who tried to get the three best teams in 4a to play? Like i've stated multiple times now moving to 4a schedule wise wouldn't be a big difference from what they have now

  22. Maryville, Tyner, & GP. All would be favored against any 4a team in the region that Alcoa would play in besides AC. You all have never been good at Football so it's not just a this year thing. Keep showing that you have no clue about football by trying to compare Lipscomb Academy a private school who plays by different rules (Was a doormat before Dilfer got there) to a public school who can only move up one classification to 4a. Like my previous post said their region schedule would be about the same strength and other than the 2nd and 3rd round teams it wouldn't be a difference from the 3a play-offs.

  23. This will be a fun match up. Franklin County has come a long way and Coach Cunningham has really lifted that program up. They are a darn good team this year. Having said that, I am not sure they have the depth/talent to play 4 quarters and beat Nolensville. The Knights are a really strong team this year and they seem poised to have plenty of football still in front of them. Good luck to both teams, though.

  24. It wouldn't be fair for me to say anything about FCHS because I know nothing about them other than they're having a good season. My guess is Nolensville is the more talented team. There's a D1 WR with multiple offers, solid TE, a high quality QB, a good 2-headed running attack with Johnson and Tamaska and a sound D that creates turnovers. Nolensville gets the edge in my book but if FCHS can create turnovers, like Franklin did last week, and keep good field position there's no reason they can't be in this come the 4th Q. The table is set for Nolensville to go deep in the playoffs but they'll have to earn it against some good teams.

  29. You busted me brother. . My heart and family is in Carter Co. I work next to FCHS and was asked several years ago to help with the home games and have seen every game since 2019. My posts started out a little rough and some prolly were downright abrasive. You’re a down right legend on Coacht and I really enjoy all the info and time you put into your posts. You make the message boards informative and entertaining. Keep up the great work.

  30. I agree 100%. No room for negativity in Region 5-2A. Good luck to all region teams this Friday! Only one missed was the preseason favorite that was also picked by every media source in the state. So an outstanding preseason call.

  31. Yeah and I am a Franklin County Alum who now coaches (linemen)middle school in White County. I also help on the sidelines for the high school. My parents still go to all the FC games. There is a young man on the team who my sister helped raise.

  36. Nope, it's the posturing of 4A teams and plans to move out of region and up classification if Alcoa does in fact move to 4A. There is no guarantee that the region will be the same teams once finalized? You really think Alcoa is scared of Seymour, Sequoyah, Carter, Gibbs, Nothview South-Doyle or Fulton?

  41. Is that relevant to this game? Are you telling us we shouldn't even play?

  42. Bottom line is if you guys thought you would dominate a larger classification you would move up but you didn’t. Looking at your schedule you will only have 4 regular season wins over teams with winning records. It may end up being only 3 if Pigeon Forge loses this week. You beat a Maryville team that’s probably the worse one they have had in awhile. Now are you dominant in 3A, of course, there is nobody that has the athletes you have that you play in the east. It’s easy to say your not afraid to play anyone anytime in a non region game… the difference in the bigger classes and some of their regions is you have tougher games every week in region play.

  46. Cat, have to agree with you! Frank's good but the West D is much better. Could be a rough night for him and the coaching staff will call his number 75% of the game.

  47. I don't blame the Alcoa fans or even players. But the coaches and administration I would say are the chickens on not moving to 4A. They much rather beat up on the cupcakes then take a challenge in 4A

  48. Sergeant Southtowner got wounded in the battle at Cookeville and some say the Tigers of Fayetteville burned him at the stake. Some say they saw his ghost in Chattanooga looking down from high atop Lookout Mountain while the Pirates reigned supreme over the Rebels and the rest of the world. So, like a Phoenix, he may rise up from the ashes one day, pick up his golden goose quill, and commence to writing once more.

  49. The proposal was awesome. Should have been adopted. Now you have 1A and especially 2A districts with a ton of schools and you have 3A and 4A struggling to get 4 in a district.

  50. The only thing that the TSSAA and Board of Control care about is money. If all of the D2 schools were to withdraw from the TSSAA you would see the TSSAA crying over lost revenues. The D2 schools do not need to worry about not being able to afford catastrophic insurance as several other states have more than one association. Those other associations also are allowed to play regular season games against each other and play out of state opponents that are members of the National Federation.
