A Devil Worshipper, Really? Don't try and butter me up by calling me a cool dude. I have absolutely zero respect for you after some of your comments you have made towards posters and even making fun of Mavsinflight if his family had to take care of him for being sick you would feel sorry for them. Alcohol or sleeping medicine is not an excuse like you have used, You are a complete LOSER and need to stay off these boards with your comments3 points

Since I am off work today, I took a way-to-deep dive into the new TSSAA classifications for next year. I found interest in seeing how many classifications there are for each sport (aka how many 'state champions' there are for each sport) compared to how many schools there are that compete in the TSSAA in that sport. For simplicity's sake, I will focus solely on Division 1 (public schools). In football, there are 298 teams and 6 classifications. This varies from each classification, but simple math would tell you that each school has a 2.01% of winning a state championship. Those numbers seem very off when you look at basketball, baseball and softball- where there are 341 teams and only 4 classifications. Which means each school has only a 1.17% chance of winning a state championship. Other Sports: Track and Field- 264 Teams - 3 classifications = 1.14% chance to be a state champion Soccer: 260 Teams- 3 classifications = 1.15% chance to be a state champion Volleyball: 304 teams- 3 classifications = 0.98% chance to be a state champion Wrestling: 157 teams - 2 classifications = 1.27% chance to be a state champion Cross Country: 260 teams = 2 classifications = 0.77% chance to be a state champion Golf & Tennis: 284 teams = 2 classifications = 0.70% chance to be a state champion Bowling: 131 Teams - 1 classification = 0.76% chance to be a state champion Interesting footnote- Girls' Wrestling is the only sport that does not separate Division 1 from Division 2, nor does it create a A, AA, AAA system. There are a total of 130 schools that compete in girls' wrestling, and there is only 1 state champion (that has Title IX lawsuit written all over it for any parent that wants to push it lol). So Maryville's girls, Alcoa's girls, Greeneville's girls, and Baylor's girls all compete for the same state title.... Now If only they had to do that in football1 point

Top Local Eateries for visiting fans (EDITED) Hickory House -- right beside the stadium. many park there and walk over to the stadium. there is even a special entrance gate to buy tickets near the restaurant. a Pulaski staple. Terrific meat-and-three spot, but also has full menu. Nick's Grill -- instead of getting off on Exit 22 on I-65, go down to Exit 14 and stop at Nick's Grill and thank me later. Tremendous menu with anything you can speak of. Burgers, fries, quesadillas, gyros, protein bowls, you name it. Everything there is amazing. Service can be a touch slow when they get backed up, so maybe call ahead and order to pick up and eat there or on your way to The Brickyard. The drive in is about the same as if you got off on Exit 22. Southern Table -- directly across the street from Kitchen 218. southern upscale dining. really nice menu. Kitchen 218 -- SADLY THEY WILL BE CLOSED FRIDAY FOR THE HOLIDAY. hip new restaurant in town. Burgers, pizza and adult beverages. Plenty of TVs and bar space/seating. just off of the Pulaski square. about a mile from the stadium. Safe travels heading over to The Brickyard on Friday night.1 point

I remember that first time BVD and myself came to Alcoa and talked to all you guys . I knew two things when I left. The Alcoa fanbase knows the game better then many coaches in NET and the Devils were lucky to catch Alcoa that one year before.1 point

Trader didn’t Scotts Hill’s best baseball player of all Time drive 35 mins from Lexington every day? One of your best now travels from Decatur Co every day. Just confused on why it matters about innocence or yadayada when your own school does some shady stuff. Yes I know the Henderson Co enrollment situation. I know Shelby Co’s and charter schools’ too.1 point

Appreciate it Batman. Hearing we might have your devils on the schedule next year. Would be nice to catch up with some old friends.1 point

, You're getting about as good as BC with these post. As always,I'll be pulling for your team to win it all again.I think you guys will win by whatever the staff wants the score to be.Never gets old watching Alcoa bring back the gold.1 point

Why don't you do some research on his other posts before you sound like an idiot. " Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt". He is an Anderson County fan you loser1 point

You know your talking about #9 when he took the opening kickoff 95 yards against you last year to go along with 4 rushes for 48 yards and 3 receptions for 72 yards, that #7 rushed for two TD's against you and had another reception for 66 yards too and an Alcoa O that put up 459 yards on your D. This years Alcoa O is better than last years so get ready to be ran through like poop through a goose. Not to Mention Alcoa defense was just as dominated forcing five turnovers and holding the Bobcats to seven passing yards while most of the 254 rushing yards came in the second half against the Tornadoes’ backups. You had less than 30 yards rushing in the first half and less than 50 yards of total offense against Alcoa's Starters. Big talk for someone who got it handed to them by Alcoa1 point

Roy don't know what he's talking about anyway. As for the game, Clay wanted it all more. That's what's disheartening. I don't care how talented you are, if the other team wants it more, it's hard to win. As far as knowing me, there several in Celina that know me from youth football. They are as fine men as there is. I give a lot of credit to men like Stephen Arms and Jason Hamilton for where the high school program is at.1 point

Yeah, in my mind as the worst team in a weak region, 0-5, your team is what's pathetic missy. #SOC1 point

I’ll just post what I’ve heard. I’ve been told the Oliver family lives in Johnson City. I’ve also been told that the family toured Science Hill (and was pleased with what they saw) sometime early last summer. At the time, Cutlip was still the HC for the Toppers. This is where things apparently went downhill. Word is the family was not impressed at all with Cutlip and how he ran “his program”. It’s amazing the amount of talent that man seems to have run off during his time at The Hill. Cutlip ends up resigning but it took about a month for a new coach to be hired and the Oliver kid was already enrolled at DB and the decision from his family had been made and settled on.1 point

It’s kind of the perfect storm for Beech. They’ve got a talented and veteran team in a year where there are no great teams on the west side of the bracket. No real threat out of Williamson County. No Parsons at Ravenwood, No Wade Twins at Summit, an inexperienced Brentwood team. Hendersonville was way down this year. To top it off, Maryville and Oakland are still very good but far from their usual juggernaut selves. This is the year you want to take a shot at them. IMO, Beech has a REAL shot to win it all. -Hate the thought of it smh1 point

thats kind of a fair statement. But they still got it done it just caught up to them as expected. Still a great season1 point

Haywood imo will be their test. Haywood is known for big physical teams1 point

After the dismantling of Cane Ridge, I’m thinking along the same lines. Beech was the most physical team CR had played and Bartlett leaves the game thinking the same thing. Beech big! 35-71 point

All star team? They’re a really good 1A team. Not an all star team and not world beaters. Why’s this only an issue with MASE? Why did nobody care when Peabody had a few madison County kids (two being a set of brothers) or that Henry Co took Martin kids or that McKenzie took an Atwood kid or that Dyer Co and Dyersburg robbed lake county blind. MASE is playing by the same rules that allowed all of those and they all like to use “homegrown” stuff.1 point

Props to number 2 from mckenzie, I seen him going from player to player on city’s team picking them up and hugging them, seems like a really good kid and a good sport.1 point

@ MIF and the other Mav posters/fans. AC was the better team tonight. Congratulations on your victory tonight. I’ll be pulling for AC to win it all. MIF has caught a lot of crap and ate a lot of crow over the years. I am Happy for you MIF. Go and enjoy it1 point

Yea but they have recruited to reach this point. Now they don’t want anyone to follow in their footsteps? How many homeschoolers do they have on their team?1 point
