  1. We ain’t mailing nothing. That’s why we play this game!

  2. Part 2. I'll summarize what I said. Tyner is the beneficiary of a terrible East this year and has beaten a bunch of bad teams and several mediocre ones. They haven't had near the competition that Riverside has, nor the consistency for the last 5 years. Tyner's playoff wins have been over average teams (minus East Robertson), and the 7-5 York team they beat in the semis might not have been a playoff team in several other regions. Tyner fans are super-sensitive to even objective analysis, and believe they should be able to rant and rave about how great their team is, and if you say even one negative it's racially motivated. That's the truth and everyone here knows it. There is no profanity or hashtag spelling in this post.

  3. That is the same point we were at before Coach Wilson came to Springfield. The right person at the right spot can accomplish wonders

  9. You always need to look at POP's timestamp. He has a Jekyll and Hyde type thing going on that usually happens in the wee hours...probably caused (as was the good Dr.'s) by drinking some sort of potion. He "transforms" from IPOPU2022 into IPOPOFF2022.

  10. Baylor’s pockets must be deeper than Mama’s Boy Academy because that first Baylor TD should not have counted. As my parole officer says “Money can’t buy happiness but it can buy a lot of things.”

  11. Can someone just list the “actual offers” he has? Obviously it’s not a lot of power 5 teams. But what is his Top Offer. Maybe Wake Forest or South Alabama. He’s a great athlete and i wish him all the best at the next level regardless of where he goes.

  12. 3 quarter/semifinalists In Fayetteville, Coalfield, Giles, plus South Pittsburg and Jasper expecting big things next year. Watertown likely won’t remain down. Starts with local rival Bledsoe. Challenging for sure.

  13. Upset? That is crazy. The better team won and the championship was probably decided a week earlier.

  14. Maybe most proven backup would have been better way of putting it. I'm sure Surber is likely a talented future qb for the Rebels. However, how many current backup QBs in 1A have their school's single season record for passing yards? Nonetheless, it certainly proves that both teams have championship level talent (as injuries are an unfortunate part of the game and hurt 1A teams the most, both teams have been able to fight through them), and should make for a great game tomorrow.

  15. Dilfer is a disgrace to TN High School Football Coaching. You seem like a decent poster, still new so we will see. His antics are ridiculous and the HS game, at least in TN, doesn’t need it. Glad to see him go. Warming up at another HS and bussing in with 2:00 on the clock before game time, absurd. I was the color guy on our radio broadcast for 8 years. We had 1 opposing coach in 8 years refuse to do a 5 minute phone interview for the pregame show during game week. Take a guess who that self righteous coach was? And the post game interview today, with the fake crying??? You guys should be embarrassed by that on TV. Let alone throwing it in the end zone with :29 to go…. Lipscomb is getting ready to pay a bunch of receipts over the next few years.

  16. lots of haters. where to start? - most people I know like the direction lipscomb university and the academy are heading and think it is more true to the mission than ever. if you don't like it and you don't have kids there, who cares? by the way lowry is still there. - maybe next year is rough. maybe it's not. lipscomb was a doormat for years. who's to say this wasn't their revenge tour? dilfer took a terrible team to the championship game in 2 years. then won the next two. that's pretty amazing. 75% in the championship game, 50% state champion. and he didn't inherit a program rolling like other successful coaches. I think he deserves some respect and im grateful he came to LA for 4 years. @BreadTruck28 it was great to meet you. sorry the game wasn't closer. maybe i'll see you at baseball or basketball soon.

  17. Other than Joslin this entire post is bogus. Lassiter retired after 14 years at Gallatin, how is that running him off? Brent Alexander was offered a position during Lassiter's tenure and declined it. Dewayne Alexander is a Hendersonville graduate. Dewayne's son's father-in-law is an assistant at Beech, so that would explain his move there. Lassiter's pick to succeed him was not Brent, his recommendation was actually who got the job.

  19. Who cares if kids "LEGALLY" transferred to Lipscomb Academy from Texas, Florida, Georgia, California, etc... so long as they did so within the rules established by the TSSAA. Again, if someone has some concrete information that anyone associated with Lipscomb Academy has done something illegal, they need to turn that information over to the TSSAA. Rumors and innuendos are not proof. With a larger percentage of the population in the USA today being allowed to work from anywhere in the continental US people are moving every day. If someone has a son that is a good football player, and they have the ability and financial means to move their family to Nashville why would they not want to do so and give the young man the opportunity to play for Trent Dilfer? Let's be honest and say that these families are not moving to Nashville to play for Lipscomb Academy, they are moving to play for Trent Dilfer. The man can literally pick up the phone and most every D1 college football coach would take his call. Is this legal, yes. Is this an advantage, yes.

  20. Cry because it was Dilfer doing it. turn shoulder when it’s Alcoa, Knox Catholic, Baylor, McCallie, Brentwood Academy doing it.

  22. With the population base in Tennessee being 7.1 million there is absolutely no reason to have more than 4 divisions for football, basketball, volleyball, softball and baseball and that is with D1 & D2 being combined. All individual sports such as cross country, wrestling, track & field, etc... would play in 1 division. Class A: Small rural public schools. Absolutely no private schools, magnet schools or charter schools Class AA: public schools, charter schools, magnet schools and private schools that DO NOT offer financial aid or work study Class AAA: public schools, charter schools, magnet schools and small private schools that offer financial aid and or work study Class AAAA: public schools, charter schools, magnet schools and large private schools that offer financial aid and or work study

  23. Such a tired statement. I don't think anyone is scared, but going and taking a high scoring loss every season is tough, especially week one. Coaches are trying to get player buy in and it takes weeks to recover. Cupcake, McMinn played 3 teams in Centrals region. Probably didn't help there team playing smaller schools either. As I stated, a black and blue game imo is the best option. Really McMinn has the most to lose if they are defeated in this game.

  24. I agree, it would take quite a crew to "overwhelm" this West team. I've got the Rebs by a couple trickles.

  25. Glad that someone else remembers. There was a whole thread where posters lined up to ridicule Riverside for hiring Frost after his record was not great previously. Sometimes success isn't measured in wins and losses, but in this case, it's appropriate. Some places are harder (or take longer) to win at, but I'm sure Frost would have had success there if he had been given time and support...people think that they "deserve" instant results, but most of the time you only reap what you sow. Tyner is the favorite, but I'm sure Frost will have the Panthers ready... play one snap at a time like the game will be decided on that play, and a lot of folks might just be shocked when the last whistle blows.

  26. Congratulations to both schools. You made it the final prize. Win or lose you all did something that the other several teams in class 1 a couldn't do and that is get to the final game and contend for a championship. I've been on both sides of winning it all and losing it, lot's of emotions that will be played in your minds for a long time. Enjoy this time because you might not ever get back again. Nothing is promised. From this Army veteran I salute both teams.

  27. I wouldn't touch that argument. Throw in Mt. Pleasant, Lewis County, your Tigers, and the early rounds of playoff football for the next two years will probably consist of at least one championship contender in every game. Brutal is almost an understatement.

  30. Exactly... Finally someone with some sense. There's an awful lot of dust collected on them old trophies in the case. And that paint on the side of the stadium that says "State Champions" is faded badly. The Wave is just another mid tier program now. MOJO

  37. Going to be a tall task for the Mavs. PC been here before, and this time it’s not against Alcoa. Maybe PC comes in and takes the lead, but the Mavs have been like nova cane, give it a few minutes and I believe they rally back for the W. Congrats to both teams for making it this far. I wish the best for both teams. Please take it easy on Mavsinflight. He’s very excited for his team, this is the 1st time for team making the trip to the championship and he is like a young man in a candy store. Mavs 38 PC 37 Enjoy it MIF, cause next year Greene will start the new winning streak back over the mavs

  39. I agree with my friend GREENWAVE84EG. Lot of fiction on this thread. I thought the the topic was Gallatin’s football coach resigning and who might be next in line. It’s turned into several programs being slandered, kids academics being put into question, and just some out and out lies. At the end of the day it’s Dr. Becker’s call and he may or may not involve others. As far as Gallatin’s athletic programs they have a very good boy’s BB Coach in Luna, a very good girls BB coach in Parker, solid baseball program with Mark Wilson who tied for the district championship last year, up and coming softball program with Coach Raper and a state tournament girls soccer team with Coach Harper. Once again slandering a program whether it be Gallatin, Hville, Beech, or SC is wrong.

  40. Boogers always in for good tussle.... ...go back and do a reread Bump....Booger called Oakland on 5 or 6 goal line crossins.......if math of Booger be right..Booger thinkin 5x6=30...plus them balls tween the uprights makes it 36....thats if he makes'em all.....so why didnt Bump11 just say Bump11 agreed with Booger ....the Bucs got some outstandin performers on the team no doubt.....but Bump11 gotta help ole Booger out and tell Booger which Bucs player is the best Defensive player on the field for that contest... ....Booger thinkin that pickin Oakland over anybody aint bein disrespectful....even that deservin Hendersonville team Booger just sayin

  42. Some insider info here and quite shocking news is that Boffa was the predetermined hire before Watson resigned. He's always wanted the job and will undoubtedly do well at Gallatin since he is a top tier coach with a winning record. Has won 3 titles at 2 different schools.

  43. Every little faction needs to get on board with whomever is chosen. We need the best possible coach out there. There needs to be input from Short, QB Club, big supporters, anybody that loves the Green Wave. Becker, Sanders , Frech whoever can make the final hire but the community needs to be backing up that hire. A committee to help assist with finding a good coach would help!! Get more people invested in this process.

  45. Turn it all off, nothing but propaganda on all the major news outlets, its nothing more than professional wrestling, all these big politicians are on one side, they just yak backwards and forwards trying to divide us. They sit back and laugh at our ignorance. I never dreamed we had so many sheep needing someone to do their thinking for them, its pretty obvious, a lot of us will believe whatever news outlet we tend to listen to.Half the junk they say is really comical if it wasn't so dangerous. Most of us are really in the middle, this far right and far left stuff is for the birds.

  46. I see you are leading in the Big Ones Contest? We don't need your kind in here showing out. Mind your own business. Seriously though, we just play for the fun and the banter. And of course the winner takes home this incredible amount of CoachT cred. This cred only lasts a short while. Like 7 days or so. Anymore and the weight of such would just crush the winner. Past winners can testify to this cred-ness.

  47. Fayetteville was the best Class A team I’ve seen this year and McKenzie beat them by 2 at home so I’ve got to believe they are just as good obviously. Clay is a huge underdog in this one. No one will expect them to be in the game so they won’t have anything to lose! They have athletes all over the field that much is for sure. For those of you that don’t know about Clay County I’d do my research. They had one of their own playing on ESPN tonight for the Tennessee Vols basketball team as a starter! This small school is no stranger to championship games. Most of these boys have one state championship ring already from the hard court in 2021’. So they will show up regardless of how big of an underdog they may be.
