The TSSAA is worried about something like this, yet The University of Webb (Webb Bell Buckle) is allowed to make an absolute mockery of the girls D2 A basketball tournament and season. The Feet have only two players from the state of Tennessee on their roster. They feature a lineup of national and international players. They have won 3 games by forfeit this season cause two schools did not want their teams to be humiliated with the inevitable beat down. It should raise all sorts of red flags in the TSSAA office when a team has a record of 4-17 during the 2019-20 seasons and is now on the verge of their 3rd straight D2A championship. Webb has gone 89-12 over the last 3 seasons and has lost only 3 games during that time to in state opponants. Webb has not lost to an in state opponant in almost 2 full seasons. Yes, red flags should be raised all over the TSSAA office concerning the U of Webb. Still, the TSSAA is instead worried about a tweet from Lipscomb. How typical. The opinions expressed in this post are mine and mine alone. I would however be willing to bet the farm that my opinion is also how many schools, coaches, and fans feel if the truth be known.

We have good shooters. #3 is a sophomore, #14 and #24 are both Freshman. #5 and #50 are Juniors. They have more youth then most and they have literally gotten better as the season has gone on. Yes #50 is a big part of this team but when she came out in the first and second quarters, PC got the lead and kept it until she came in. Either way it was a great game and PC opened eyes. This next game, the Lady Vikings will have to play even better. Funny thing is, PC didn't play extremely well. Alot of the girls and the coach said they were upset because they should've won by more. However, HC is a great team and might've overlooked PC a little bit. I noticed a lot of the Houston County players and fans looked shocked they lost. It was just one of those days where not alot fell for either team and the team that made their jumpshots and got second chance points won. This game against McKenzie is going to be even harder. Either way, this young PC team is playing with house money, they are enjoying the ride for as long as they can.

He has won everywhere he has coached. He will win at Smith county too. I have heard they have some really good players coming up next year too. Culture change doesn't happen overnight but a big win and substate game sure will give it a boost!

Anyone that gets on here and bashes coaches needs stop and think about how much this stuff actually means to them. Coach Cope had his team prepared tonight and shots just didn't fall. Is that on him as a coach? It's not on the players either. Sometimes you just miss. That was a game between two really good teams competing at a high level. One made shots and one didn't. It's a make or miss game and coaching is sometimes very over rated. Not to mention Coffee played without one of their best shooters tonight. Cleveland had kids step up...It's that simple. Congratulations Coffee County on an incredible season.

Yea that’s definitely true, FW isn’t that great but neither is Dyer Co or Dyersburg. I do believe a healthy South Gibson beat Hardin County last year & goes to Creek Wood & makes state. One of their best players in Bagget got hurt against us in the regional championship. I thinks South Gibson can make some noise “if” their shots are falling! It’s definitely a 50/50 substate game

A disruptive defense can rattle the most fundamental of teams. It happens that sometimes teams just get beat too. CC has a good record and is obviously a good team. It just didn’t go their way last night. Happens at every level of the game. Women’s and Men’s.

Didn’t Dburg and Haywood play an overtime game on a neutral court back before Christmas with Haywood barely pulling it out??

Haywood didn’t come ready to play that game that was there wake up call

Yes. He started at Webb School of Knoxville and then went to IMG.

Shot clock is absolutely needed in high school basketball. Without it, makes it darn near impossible to overcome double digit deficits. Sitting on the ball on offense for multiple minutes does not help the game, nor these players who want to play at the next level.

He's been doing it for a LONG time at the Jr High level..... VERY SUCCESSFUL programs that he sent on to Pickett Co HS..... he's turned down other HS jobs in the past..... He also has one of the top summer programs in the southeast.... helping MULTIPLE kids get college scholarships.... He does it for all the right reasons..... success will follow him wherever he goes

Count how many times Gibson County took it to the rim early and there wells no calls and probably no fouls I agree. But Gibson County kept pounding and getting the contact and the crew they had foils started to pile up. Huntingdon getting mad at some calls is warranted to a degree but they get sloppy defending a lot. #14 held Micah all night and didn’t get a call. In Murfreesboro she would have fouled out first quarter.

Refs were bad. I agree. But good fundamental boxing out got Kee a couple times. It’s tough but it is what it is. The defender was in good position to box out. Problem is every ref calls that situation differently. Just like calling 9 fouls on Huntingdon in first quarter then 1 or 2 in second. Never know what you gonna get.

I think where the coaching comes in is settling the team down and talking the team through ball handling. Making good decisions on shots and having players in place to rebound. You can't have 25+ turn-overs, Shoot 32 percent and be out rebounded and expect to win. I am not tryin to be a jerk, as I respect the work and effort coaches put into any sport, but Coffee Co was clearly not "ready to play"

I agree! Dburg wont be a push over. I think they will be competitive, but just simply don't have enough horses to run with Haywood.

God's speed!! Not sure if I met him or not. I can say this for certain, back when my son was playing we had a game at Trenton and some Peabody faithful invited us Lion idiots over for a tailgating party. They are a great bunch of fans. Prayers for the family and friends from Lion Country.

Very impressed with Lincoln County!!! Could have easily won this game. Tullahoma on the other hand was never beating Upperman. So for the 4th time it’s Upperman vs LA. This one means the most thus far. Winner stays home for substate which is almost a guaranteed win.

Dupill also pinned Fowler at the 2022 USA Wrestling Frank E. Rader SE Regionals in the Semi's and TF Belcher (9-0) in the Finals. I would take Dupill over both Fowler and Sturgil based in him pinning Fowler and Fowler pinning Sturgil

Rankings mean nothing. You know how many times I’ve seen 32-0 teams come to Murfreesboro and get waxed by a 22-10 team? Way too many to count I can tell you that. It’s about competition not records or “polls”
