They stop the run good but against passing it looks like they either sack the QB or give up a long pass.

Mcewen has a ton of seniors and over 40 players. most I’ve seen in a long time. THey have a big line and will lean on the run and eat clock.they did throw more against Gleason than I expected. From what I’ve seen the new coach has them playing hard. I look for them to be physical and compete. Not sure if they are built to come from behind of a team jumps out on them.

As we approach the start of the 2024 TSSAA football season at the end of this week, a huge shoutout to the coaches, players, other staff that makes it happen, parents, refs, band, cheerleaders, school admin, local law enforcement at the game, etc. I hope everyone has a great year, stays safe, and loves being a part of the greatest game a young man can play. That would be something that would have to be planned out and not a last minute thing. How much do you think it would costs Alcoa to fly their team up there, pay for hotels, food, a bus to get the team places? Looking online the cheapest flight I've seen is its around $90 round trip but would have to leave Thursday and get back Sunday (So at least 3 days worth of food and 3 days in a hotel). If you leave on Friday and coming back Sunday it's $248 round trip for the flight. Game on Saturday and would have 3 days to prepare for Greeneville isn't a smart coaching decision especially when you open up with Ravenwood and then Bearden before the Greeneville game.

I Like it! For week 1, i'd say it's accurate. I haven't heard much from Henry Co. so i am curious how thy will be. Unless Henry Co. & Haywood are opposite of what everyone is expecting, i do not believe the top 2 spots will change. I agree that Milan probably deserves a spot 6-8. I feel like Covington, Westview, & Mckenzie will share the 3 spot throughout the season. I anticipate a lot of bouncing for each team. Good luck to everyone! Well it does a disservice to the JV and Freshmen boys that would like to get some time in on the field. I wish we would cancel the Battle of Pistol Creek. That would hurt the pocketbook.

I don't look for much in this game in the way of good football. Loser Lane hasn't been able to get the recruiting going like he would want. He has a track record(see West, Catholic, and Bearden, if you don't believe me) of only being able to win with transfers and not kids from his zone. I don't look for much out of the Flunky Falcons, either. Ever since Casino Junkie Jones left their middle school program, the Falcons have been abysmal. They hire Justin Loser Long, who has an 8-22 record, to be the savior. I know the folks at Grace couldn't help him get his office packed up quickly enough.

The biggest difference between Bearden and West is that one is coached by a known cheater that can hardly even formulate a sentence while self-proclaiming himself as a guru. and the other is Lamar Brown.
