This is just bull $h1t! This is the same as saying take all of the Ag kids or Cutting and Welding kids or Home Economics kids who “don’t “ want to play sports and deduct them from enrollment! All of what Milan is doing is just plain stupid and completely wrong! It may be a loophole that’s being exploited but it’s plain wrong! One has to know this is being done not really JUST to help students but to cheat their way into LESSOR competition because they are cowards!3 points

This is the issue. 300 TSSAA schools and one gets to not count its non athletes and this is OK?3 points

Trae McDaniel is back from injury and looked fantastic as he took fourth place at the Princeton Open at 149lbs. Trae's only loss was to the eventual winner out of Princeton. Trae's performance was definitely the standout for this weekend. If you haven't watched Trae wrestle at the collegiate level then you should. Young man is freaking good plus he is fun to watch. Dayne Dalrymple beat Hunter Mason 3-0 in the VT and UTC dual. Tough match for both guys. I believer Hunter weighed in at 141 and wrestled up to meet Dayne. Dayne has really put on some size and was ready to compete. I believe Hunter beat Dayne last year so I'm sure Dayne enjoyed a little payback. Good to see two TN guys go at it. Dayne followed that up with a sixth place finish at the Southeast open. Hunter Mason took second Place in the Southeast Open at 141 pounds losing to Jayden Scott out of UNC in the finals. I felt like Hunter was improving in each and every match, wrestled Scott really tough in the finals and lost 4-0. I've seen Scott wrestle up close (two times) and that kid is no joke. Shoutout to Landon Desselle at OSU and wrestling at 149 lbs. He was pinned in his first match against Jack Crook but then reeled off four straight wins to earn a rematch against Crook. Lost 17-12 this time around, however, I was really impressed with his ability to rebound and remain calm, so while not medaling he performed really good in his first college tournament. Well done. Final note, looks as though Jackson Hurst is the starter at 165 for UTC. Good to see, he has paid his dues. Things didn't go exactly how he wanted in his first dual, but Jackson's effort is never less than maximum.1 point

No clue but he obviously isn't a good fit at haywood just like he wasn't a good fit at shelbyville1 point

Alot of haywood issue is coaching staff. I have not been a fan of the current staff since day one. They dont put the players in the best position they make little to no adjustments and this season it has reared its ugly head. I have no issue with the list as always. I have heard alot of fans want puckett and his staff gone because talent wise we are loaded but coming up short.1 point

I don't think anyone can make a solid argument against your placements. Dyer Co. and Haywood are both somewhat a mystery...Haywood looked like a lock to be top two or three early, but may have unraveled quite a bit, while Dyer Co. has gelled as the season has gone along. Would either or both beat McKenzie? No way to know, but their resume's have made it hard to guess against where the on-field results have made it hard not to have them below the Rebs and others. You could debate Munford too, but again, hard to say. Not knocking McKenzie here, just using them because they're undefeated and a 1A swimming in the deep end of the pool...you could substitute 5,6, and 7 for them in the same conversation. Some really solid teams outside the top 10 too...feels like overall there are a lot of worthy teams this year, when most years there are 6 or 7, then a sizeable dropoff at the bottom.1 point

Nobody cares what you have to say, cheater. Your school should be in this classification and region. Why don’t you go talk your usual smack in the 1A/2A threds where you belong.1 point

Don’t forget Chris Bain and Station Camp play his Alma mater Jackson North Side in Jackson Friday night.1 point

Nothing like a 200+ mile trip for Springfield and Hville Friday night. Last year the Commandos had a walk thru at a Jackson High School (don’t remember which one) and the pregame meal in that area.1 point

Hit the nail on the head with that one crow. A lot of kids are planning on just not playing rather than going somewhere else. I also heard from the same inside source that majority of the kids just weren’t having fun this season. A big majority also felt extremely unmotivated by some of the coaching staff this year. A big shame I should say.1 point

Haven’t taken the time to do so yet, but want to give a shout to both of these teams for an epic game and to Westview for winning. Both squads are great this year and hats off to you both. Much respect from this dawg and can’t wait to watch the second match up.1 point

SG not aggressive enough on the oline. Play calling predictable. Can be pass happy. QB sometimes holds onto the ball too long. 2 good quick running backs, as long as oline play isn’t lethargic. Defense not fast enough plugging the gaps, maybe that’s by design/maybe it’s not?? I’ll pull for SG and maybe the coaching staff and team has moved beyond winning a milk can and set their sites on getting to a championship and catch lighting in a bottle. But until then…Tellico too strong and too fast! Look for Tellico to get the W. Tellico would also stand a better chance against Bledsoe in the 2nd RND. Bledsoe would obliterate, and make SG cry 😢 uncle again.1 point

If Gordonsville was healthy I'd like their chances a lot more. I still wouldn't count them out especially at home.1 point

their director of schools is on the board and they have struggled, don't think it will be any problem for them to vote this. it helped Sparta a few years ago and I believe swallows was there then. good idea in my opinion.1 point

First of all, I hope all the kids inured Friday night in Celina get healthy as soon as possible. Nobody from Celina wanted to win that way and see those kids who had worked hard to be that in moment unable to finish what they had started. As far as this weeks game, I say, it depends on how healthy Gordonsville can get. If they are somewhat healthy, I give a slight edge at home to the Blue Tigers, based on what has been said about Chatt Prep. However, if they have to roll out with their 4th string RB and 2nd string QB, it’s going to be extremely tough to pull this one out. The game in Celina went from Gordonsville up 14 to Clay County leading by 7 in less than 4 minutes. If Clay had wanted to press the issue, it could have been worse the way the offense was rolling late. I wish the Tigers best of luck Friday.1 point

Don’t know anything about Giles they seem to be down this year. Tyner has been up and down this season but have been playing good most of the second half, they are big and fast with a QB that can hurt you with his arm or legs. I say Tyner wins1 point

yessir..got a lot of talent coming back.Soph QB Fresh running backs and receivers.OLine is big just inexperienced.Only lose about 6 seniors.I look for them to compete for the region next year and the year after that to have a stellar year.Just my opinion1 point
-
I will be blunt. C-Prep had a lot of unsportsman and personal foul penalties against SP and Whitwell and suspect they would be worse the 2nd time around. Outside of the qb and 2 other players, they have the potential to be the dirtiest team in 1a.1 point

I’m stealing a quote from the Eagleton and Bledsoe thread ‘ I don’t think this will be the normal 1 vs 4 matchup”. Anxious to make the trip!1 point

We would host Southwind if we were to meet them in round 3 due to how the bracket is set up, if we are fortunate enough to make it that far.1 point

I don’t know about G’s injuries but I’m not as high on Prep as most on here. If Gordy gets their players back they win this one.1 point

You are talking about the Tssaa. They don’t make anything simple or use common sense.1 point

I think that since this has come to light, there needs to be some policy and language that governs this. It may not be timely to a lot of folks but it needs to be addressed. Honestly, this is a loophole that needs to be closed. Wouldn't the language that covers this be fairly simple to write?1 point

Well you're right, I'm giving Sevier Co the benefit of the doubt. But I'll stay with what I have said for a long time, until someone in 5A beats Knox West then I'm going with them.1 point
-
What a game! Hopefully we get to do it over again in three weeks. Westview receivers made great catches all night with pretty good coverage. Simpson is darn good! The game could have gone either way.1 point
-
Sounds like if we can get past play #1 and throw the ball downfield, there’s a chance.1 point
-
Would give the edge to West for the schedule alone. If we can bring the intensity, physicality and balanced offense we showed last Friday night then we should be OK. It's win or go home time. We have had a few surprise exits over the years, let's not make this year one of them.1 point

I was very surprised with it myself. I do know that playin at York is a totally different animal1 point
-
The key to beating them is making sure you are physical up front and can defend plays drawn in the dirt. With that said, I fully believe every region 3 team advances but Sale Creek.1 point

I always thought Maryville's best uniforms were the ones they had before switching to Nike. Those shoulder stripes on the black jerseys were cool looking1 point
-
I know they kick XPs but I can’t remember how the kickoffs were. I’ll be honest with you. I think this Polk Co. team wants another shot at York in round 2. They are gonna be focused and ready to go. It’s gonna be a tough one.1 point

Mercy rule in 1st half, warriors begin the journey to Chattanooga or bust. Really don’t see a challenge until title game tbh but that’s why you play.1 point
-
Actually if the qb from Covington hits three wide open receivers they win by two tds. Westviews pass defense wasn’t any better than their run defense.1 point
-
I can tell you all you really need to know about this side of 5A..... Knox West, Powell & Sevier County. West's biggest challenge against Crockett will be to pull the starters mid-way thru the 2nd quarter and rest them up for round 2, or let them play so they don't lose that edge. It's a balance that the coaching staff will have to figure out, pro's & con's on both sides. But make no mistake, this game will be over in the 2nd Q. I would be surprised if Crockett crosses mid-field until the 4th when it doesn't matter. And for the record, you could say the same about any of the other 5A teams from R1 except Sevier Co.1 point

There are a good number of terrific coaching staffs in high school football in this area, but it's my opinion that none is better than the current staff at West. Just solid from the top down.1 point
-
This one is puzzling. Looks like tough scheduling paid off for the Rebels in this one. To go there and get a win against that defense is remarkable. My buddy from Powell told me to make no mistake about it, West may not be as good on either side of the ball as they have been for the last 2 years but their physicality is still there.1 point

Agree. Heritage outscored 5A Region 3 teams 141-13. Really bites to be sitting out the playoffs after beating the pants off of three teams in Region 3. (Howevs, that’s also on Heritage for not showing up & firing on all cylinders like they should have against Halls & Central, and they know/own that.) When TSSAA reconfigures regions for 4A football in Nov, hope they’ll show some sense and align HHS to the south with their current baseball region. The few extra travel miles will be worth a better more evenly matched, competitive landscape in 4A. Super proud of the Heritage kids & staff who have dug in over the last 3 seasons to steer the program 180 degrees in the right direction. The community has also really stepped up to support the program. Hope they’ll stay on this trajectory for the 2025 season.1 point

The wildcats can run the ball & they can stop the run-starting on play 1. However, their pass defense is awful. Should be a career night for Bell & #18-this is the game for the Hail Mary-90% chance that the prayer gets answered every time the ball is in the air…1 point

Good gosh almighty. That was a can opened tonight up in Highway 28. Impressive win for the young Pirates. Keep working boys. Did I see on the news where we were picked third in the region this season?1 point
