  1. We are all able to interpret things as we choose, and that includes you. My take is that this was the slowest and least athletic team I have ever seen OR have, and that was before the injuries. When you take away the fastest player on the team and the only real big play threat they had, that's a problem, which you are free to refer to as an excuse. Then when you take your next best athlete and receiver off an already athletically challenged team, with another season ending injury, that's a problem, which you are free to call an excuse. Then when you take your next best athlete off your team with yet another season ending injury, that is yet another problem for a team that wasn't all that talented to begin with, but you are free to call that another excuse. Teams all have injuries to deal with but I can't ever remember a team having to deal with this many season ending injuries to their top offensive weapons. OR won last week despite the injuries and I hope they can do that again this week, but as the competition stiffens as OR goes deeper into the playoffs, winning will become less and less likely because the teams who progress deep into the playoffs are the teams with the best players, and most of OR's best players are gone. Nobody is crying about it and you can view the mere mention of the injuries as excuses, but I call them facts.

  4. @TyroneBiggums by the way you said the exact same thing last year and got shut down. Your superstar Pickett was held to 10 yards after you said he was a better athlete than Isaiah Groves…Isaiah had 280+ rushing yards and 3 TD’s. Any of your input goes out the door when it comes to this matchup

  5. Ahhh, I know I predicted us to lose but I had some hope. Now that Tyrone gave Marion his stamp of approval, what little hope was there has vanquished. Tyrone I'll be looking forward to your "when keeping it real goes wrong" segment on Saturday. If the sun does happen to shine on the dogs arse, I will be more than happy to say Tyrone was right.

  6. How healthy is Tripp is big question for them. He is a very good player

  7. No bias at all.....lol....2a? Or entire state? I am calling BS on entire state. Groves is undisplined....he would make so many .ore plays if he actually did his job every play. I mean the game winning TD for Westy was right at him and he jumped out of the way.

  8. It’s amusing that folks assume that coaches aren’t familiar with these boards. Whether they are actively posting or not, I think a lot of fans are underestimating the number of coaches watching the T.

  10. I totally agree with this. Just like when we played Fulton in the state tournament in basketball last year. It was a business trip for that program. You learn real quick what it takes to win a championship, the level of commitment and determination. I’ve got a lot of respect for programs like that. Baxter is building programs like that in all sports. Good coaches good kids good parents. It takes commitment across-the-board to be successful. Come on Friday night!

  14. I hope so also, Macon county showed up and showed out. Hadn’t seen a playoff beating against a Soddy team like that since we got whipped back in the day by Riverdale. Good luck Macon County and hopefully neither team has any injuries and play a fun game!

  15. Agreed to disagree. I guess we will find out Friday night.

  16. What years were those appearances? Google says he was 3-3. All I know is I watched yall in playoffs in 2019 and that team had no business losing. Also yall were up 14 or something with a minute left the year before and let Whitwell come back and beat you. Yall have had some bad losses. This Friday going to be another one. I am just keeping it real

  17. The regions are generally feasible geographically, though some schools like Jellico, Huntland, and Moore Co will have longer travel times. This seems unavoidable due to their locations and the need to balance the number of teams in each region.Overall, the proposed regions seem well thought out and balanced, considering geographic, competitive, and travel factors. There are some unavoidable challenges, but these are minimized as much as possible.

  18. You bring up some great points BarneySox2007. After taking away the Black Out from the student section, I am in shock that they allowed a Red Out at the Alcoa game. I guess some colors are more hated than others.

  19. You really can sit anywhere you want and it’s perfectly okay. Little Baxter doesn’t get to dictate who sits where. The administration that took over there after 2012 is partly responsible for all the Baxter fan nonsense.

  20. Been saying for years that Baxter has the trashiest and most obnoxious football and basketball fans in the entire region, probably the state.

  26. HIPAA only applies to licensed medical personnel...maybe not too cagey to spill the beans about how banged up you are, but nothing legally wrong with it. Other than calling attention to a minor by name, I would've just thought "perhaps that was a little too voluntary"...LOL. As far as naming kids, he didn't speak of them in a negative manner, but I would most likely have (if I mentioned it at all) kept it at offense, defense, or special teams... that's just me though.

  27. Agreed on all counts, especially nothing being guaranteed. Even comparing games against the same opponents doesn’t really mean anything. Powell didn’t give up an offensive touchdown to Halls, but the Red Devils took West to OT and the following Friday, West beat Powell at our place. Powell will need to play clean, disciplined games to get wins against both SCHS at West. Definitely an exciting time!

  30. It is an awesome place to play or watch a game for many reasons. The tradition can't be manufactured and from where we watch the game I get to hear opposing players and coaches reaction before they come down the hill and they are really impressed.I know some teams that have been at the top the last few years that have an average at best atmosphere. It is just different at some places and maybe it just takes time but some of the really good teams right now could only hope to have a atmosphere like Blankenship

  31. Pick any coach you want and they wouldn't have scored much more.I don't think Rang is an offensive savant but he can only do so much with what players are left.Ill give him credit for getting a win.Plus they said the put in a new FG block package that was really big.Your obsession with hating on Rang is odd

  32. Why would you volunteer ANY kind of injury information on a public forum? Whether it’s true or not, you don’t sound like a very loyal alumni, or supporter of Westview putting names out there.

  37. I would be surprised if SC scored 34. That said, Powell's pass defense is clearly their defensive weakness, so if you can pick them apart like AC did (or hit some timely passes like West did), you can put up some points. I'm curious to see SC's defense against a good offense like Powell's.

  38. This sounds like it will be fun ... If fun means heck. What is the purpose of a team having to play on the road, OR at home for that matter, 2 years in a row? If you are scheduling refs, then you are scheduling refs. Why would it matter which stadium you are playing at?

  39. Having to play a tough region foe on the road two years in a row will go over well, especially if it's a long drive. The state of Tennessee can't open a new portal system without glitches. Will be fun to watch TSSAA try.

  41. I agree, but with both Eli's in the final five, (Michigan signee TE Eli Owens as well) votes may be spread between the two, so the Westview kid would probably get it even though if they make the final game Alcoa will still obliterate them or whoever it may be. Don't worry 3A, Alcoa is moving to 4A next season to dominate its teams next.

  45. Both are good young players, both will get stars because they are playing early. westview plays weak teams, he will set many records in that division and passing it 45 times a game. Im sure they will get more receivers wanting to play in that division. Snell will learn from some of the best coaches and be prepared for college if he stays at la. rumors swirling he may be trending to . . . . . .

  47. Rodney Ellison would be a good hire for the Clinton program IMO. Who he selects as his assistants and how much freedom the administration gives him to hire his people will be key. I think some of the former staff will have to be retained. I would say Clinton would be limited in open teaching positions to bring in quality assistants and be able to offer them a teaching job as well. I might say too the guy that filled in this year did the best he could in a very tough situation. Beat of luck to Clinton in the job search process.
