I totally understand your frustration. However, as an entrepreneur with more than a few employees I have a simple philosophy that has served me well for decades. It’s ok to disagree with me, but if you do I want you to offer not only your opinion but also your help to make the situation better. I feel confident that Hamm would appreciate you volunteering to assist him with this time consuming endeavor. It’s quite apparent that you really know the kids and you would not be biased.2 points

For the reading and intelligence impaired: Hamm's contact in a thread from not too long ago. To spell it out for you, because you're on the struggle bus, simply email Hamm. Super nice dude and he will get it corrected.2 points

I guarantee Macon coaches and players are giving them tons of respect this week. White Co already proved they are more than capable of beating them. MC better show up ready to roll on Friday2 points

We all knew coming in to Rd 2 of the playoffs was gonna be tough...but we were not going to McKenzie to lose...however, that is what ultimately happened...i just want to say that i am proud of our Eagleville team and that they truly gave all they had Friday night...some of them played until they literally could not give anymore!!! The Eagles put up a good fight, and i believe many people watching saw some things they did not expect...one being that the Eagleville defense is pretty good! That being said, i wish we could have made better halftime adjustments to be more competitive offensively with McKenzie who did make really good adjustments at the half and it showed in the 3rd quarter pretty much from the start...Hats off to the coaching staff of McKenzie, there is many reasons why you guys are in the position you are and you coaches are a huge huge part in preparing your players for the success they have...i saw that happen on Friday night. I would also like to say that the announcer for McKenzie does a great job and really has respect for both teams playing...even though we know he is for McKenzie, he never rubbed the obvious in as some announcers do!! thank you for that! Also, thanks to McKenzie kids for playing the game the right way...i know there were a couple personal fouls but for the most part there was just football happening on the field and not a lot of trash talking! ..to all the seniors of Eagleville, you all had a great season and should be proud of the way you all turned it around after a rocky start to the season...Way to show the younger Eagles what good team leaders are made of...you seniors took this team and made it successful!!! Lastly, good luck to McKenzie and Richland this coming Friday night. hope all is well in travels and also pray for protection for the players on the field.2 points

If White county pulls this one off then everyone will not have a choice. I think White Co is a good team but they haven’t really faced to much competition in the playoffs. Macon County is playing like I expected them to all year and they are a buzz saw.2 points

My Understanding: His dad was a coach at Macon when he started playing football in Jr High and his dad took a job in Trousdale and he followed him there. He got into it with Upperman’s current Defensive Coordinator and went back to Macon last fall. He did not know that TC would actually fire a Satterfield or he probably would have stayed. I am sure Friday night felt good for him.2 points

There seems to be a lack of interest for high school football in general recently. Heck, look at this website. Back in the day there would be threads longer than the Bible, but now you are lucky to get 10 pages. People just aren’t going to games anymore and they aren’t as invested or interested as they once were. I think it is due to many reasons but it comes down to this: people would rather go do other things with their time. Why go to a game when you can watch Netflix? Or YouTube? Or Hulu? Or heck, a live stream of the game instead of going to it. The days of some schools getting 3k + people in the stands on Friday nights is over. I hate that this has happened but I have certainly noticed it over the last several years. Don’t get me wrong, big crowds for big games still happen. I went to a game earlier this year that had a huge crowd. I just don’t think that it is as common as it used to be. And I certainly don’t think the overall level of interest is what it once was. At least in this area.2 points

What a year it's been and what a slate of games this week for the semifinals! In DII A: JCS vs. NCS - Give me NCS in a close one DCA vs. CA - CJP makes corrections and shuts down the CA run game this time around for a big win DII AA: FRA vs. BGA - FRA earns a trip to Chattanooga CPA vs. Boyd - Perhaps, the DII AA game of the year. Last years state championship rematch... give me the Bucs in a close one DII AAA: BA vs. Baylor: This will be close again despite not having the weather conditions from the first time around, but I think Baylor prevails Mccallie vs. Ensworth - Mccallie wins by a TD The great part about these matchups is that I feel almost all of them could go either way. See you all in Chattanooga for the finals 🏈 THURSDAY, December 5 Finley Stadium, Chattanooga 11:00 AM: DII-AA 3:00 PM: DII-A 7:00 PM: DII-AAA1 point

Sophmore backup qb is healthy, offense is so more dynamic with him in. Senior qb is a good player but sophomore makes this offense1 point

Rankings.....someone else's opinion of who should be ranked. The rankings ALWAYS work themselves out the last day of individual state. I think too many people put too much faith in these rankings. A lot of people think these rankings should be used to seed tournaments....and they do not! Just for good conversation.....who should seed a tournament?1 point

York called last minute asking to change the game to Thursday night. Bledsoe drove an hour and a half to get there and learn that York hadn’t secured any referees. The we had to drive back home. Most of the players got home after midnight only to have to get up an go to school on Friday, then travel again to York at the regularly scheduled game time. Not things that happen in every football game.1 point

This game could go either way but it won’t be won on coach T. Macon has a chance for history if they win. No fourth round has ever been played in Macon to my knowledge1 point

Hey we're all on the same team guys, I'm glad as can be to have both of those young men. Last week before the S.H. game I was pretty worried about Price since he had very limited action against W.B. As discussed we had a major dropoff when Price went out of the game during the first 5 contest. Everyone is very glad we're not stranded with that problem now. From what I have seen if Maryville wants it bad enough this year they do have a one of the best chances since they won it the last time.1 point

Dumb post. Those teams would beat both these teams as bad as they wanted.1 point

Troy Fleming was never a HC at LCA. Bruce Fowler was retired, and was only going to start football. Jermel Jones returned to Florida. Haywood returned to CPA to join athletic staff and be associate HC at the most successful program in TN over last 10 years. Wells was at LCA for 3 years and ultimately didn’t get job done. LCA hasn’t recruited like many schools do, and that’s not a bad thing. It’s following the rules. They’ve doubled student population. Athletically they’ve won 2 team state in wrestling, district champions in XC and volleyball this fall. Not to mention winning championships in track, state tournament appearances in softball. They have original coaches in golf, boys basketball, baseball, softball, and wrestling. Very little turnover in all other sports. I formally worked at LCA, not any better person or leader than Kevin Cline (you misspelled his name). The Bobs are humble folks who have sacrificed a great deal for Christian education. Sure they’ve had some tough luck with football, but your insults are unwarranted nor accurate.1 point

Feel free to put in your time and make your own rankings. At least offer constructive input. Otherwise SDASTFU1 point

Roberson could possibly be the key to this game. When Union City needs a yard or two better believe the ball is following 62. When union city needs a stop they'll be depending on him to get penetration on the OL.1 point

ER has a lot of improvements to make if they want to sniff playing for another Gold Ball the next 4 years. The East is going to be weak as water. Reading Hampton allegedly moving down to 1A? Meanwhile Gordonsville evades South Pitt only to meet their purple twin in Marion. The West is absolutely a gauntlet. Region 7 has 5 teams that would be Top 3 in the East year in and out. Marion boys about to be a solo monster in East. Watch them boys go on a South Pitt run. Is it too late for Chatt Prep to appeal to be in 2A? I’m just keeping it real1 point

I thought you guys had a really good shot at making it to the state championship game last year and competing very well in it. Just like I think the same is true this year with whoever comes out of our district1 point

Backing up? Coaching has cost us (conservatively) 2-3 gold balls in the last decade. I can't say it any more clearly than that. Now I'm gonna follow the advice of most of the other folks here. Have a great day.1 point

Bruceton: Region 6 - 51.6 Miles / 1:01 time Region 7 - 48.6 miles / :59 time West Carroll: Region 6 - 64.16 miles / 1:18 time Region 7 - 34.83 miles / :44 time Again I think WC has a legit claim to being in Region 7 for them it cuts down almost half the milage and time. But for Bruceton I believe the BOC will look and see there is no real difference. I could see WC getting moved for sure, just do not know if they want to split up the county is all.1 point

Best thing you can say about his tenure at Powell and BC is that it was a short lived mistake.1 point

Agreed. At the Nov 2020 BOC meeting there were 35 total appeals heard, 8 of the 35 were approved. 16 of those were football related, with only 3 of these being approved. On the west side of the state they: Denied - St Benedict moving from AAA to AA Denied - Lawrence Co Moving from Region 5 to Region 6 Denied - Houston Co moving from Region 7 to Region 6 Denied- Kirby moving from 4a to 5a Denied - Ridgeway moving from 4a to 5a Denied - Bolton moving from Region 7 to Region 8 Denied- Montgomery Central moving from 4a region 5 to 5a region 7 Denied - Greenfield moving from region 7 to region 6 Nov 2022 BOC meeting had 23 total appeals with 14 of the 23 approved. Of those 8 were football related appeals with only 2 approved. The west side of the state had: Denied- Scotts Hill moving from region 7 to region 6 Denied - Marshall Co moving from region 5 to region 4 Denied - Humboldt moving from region 7 to region 6 Denied- Whites Creek moving from 4a to 3a So for me based on the past history of the TSSAA I do not see any appeals from this side of the state for football actually happening. I mean you look at Bruceton and they cite travel as the reason for wanting to move, but Collinwood is 1:46 from them and Lake Co is 1:45 from them. Now West Carroll has a claim with them being significantly closer to all the region 7 schools, with a trip to Collinwood at 2:08. But If they denied Bruceton I could see them deny West Carroll as well with the other two schools in that county staying region 6. Now TSSAA might move them but I do not think they will.1 point

Like Prince once said," Party Over Oops Outtla Time" for the Bulldogs. Huge coaching advantage for the Murvil staff. That and The Rebels play as a TEAM will be the difference. Go RED REBELS!1 point

I didn’t miss anything you seem to always blame someone when Huntingdon gets beat by a better team. Kind of sounded like you were blaming two players in the post. Said they were suppose to win gold since they were freshmen and haven’t seen any hardware yet. The play calling has got them over 2k total yds each and over 50 tds. Pretty sorry play calling.1 point

Something stirring over this weekend. There is 100% talks being made between Gillum and Benanti behind the scenes. If Rangman leaves OR, Gillum will be the next HC. He wants his son to be surrounded by better athletes, this is based off of the middle school programs.1 point

These games being televised and broadcast on the internet aren't helping crowd sizes.1 point

Crowds are down from 10-15 years ago across the board in Tennesse, with just a few exceptions.1 point

The fan base in Oak Ridge is getting older. The middle aged folks don’t care as much as in the past and the young people are just doing young people stuff. And it ain’t football playing or watching!1 point

Football participation over all is in a pretty steep decline across the country. Google it for yourselves. You'll get different numbers but they all agree it's popularity is dropping. It's just not a popular as it once was overall. This leads to less parity. The rich get richer, the poor cease to exist. It's been in decline for years and isn't due to NIL or transfer rules. Though those things may speed it up. Mostly because it's gotten expensive and risks of injury. There are other sports that are popular. Almost all sports require year round training and some form of competition which makes it harder for kids to be multi sports athletes at high levels. Changing demographics, it's not just one thing. Kids have other interests and things they'd rather do. My belief is that football will level out at some point but not before many programs drop it all together. It'll eventually be just another sport except for a handful of high level programs that get all the transfers, good athletes.1 point

You had a week to make this point and you did. Now lets let these fans talk about the game, this week. Thanks1 point

All fair picks but give me Hume Fogg in 3A will learn from their loss to Upperman last year. Starlito has blessed the program.1 point

Ory Vananda Walker will help out a lot. I love the way Price Davis runs. He is a hard nose football player. I worry about him getting hurt because he is doing too much. Ory played great last year until he separated his shoulder. He ran for over 100yds vs Science Hill and Bearden. Ory hits the hole faster than Davis does. I would love to see a 3 headed monster at RB. Especially after the last 2 seasons when Noah Vaughn and Gage Ladue got hurt.1 point
