  1. Some kids will benefit from it, but the part that I hate is (referring to Jackson) the privates hold absolute control. USJ is dropping in classification, JCS and Trinity have no desire to go up to AA...all control their enrollment number in order to position themselves where they feel they have the best chance to compete against the rest of the state. The students targeted (underachieving) to benefit from the Voucher Bill stand no chance of being accepted for admission unless they are athletically superior to their peers, so you've basically replicated NIL in assistance for the athletes to transfer while worsening things for unathletic students. For every athlete and/or academic top 10% accepted to a private via a voucher, the rug gets pulled from under a student already there...enrollment numbers will be capped in order not to be bumped up in classification. Statewide, enrollment numbers will not play as great of a role, but the principal is the same...underachieving students will be passed over for admission in favor of the top tier academic and athletic students, nullifying the original intent of the Bill.

  2. School choice and access to extra curricular activities when you decide which school to send your child seems fair. There has to be some guardrails for extra curricular activities. A one time transfer rule with no restrictions would be a great middle ground for everyone. I would not be for unlimited transfer and maintain extra curricular activities eligibility. I would be for a one time transfer prior to beginning your junior year of high school.

  3. I don’t believe this decision will change much for Oneida. I see Oneida Football dwindling down to absolutely meaning nothing. Coaches don’t buy in, why should the players? If the coaches aren’t gonna put the effort in to be great, why should the players? As we have saw last year, there is no fire lit under the #### of our players. Something needs to change and these young men need to get fired up to play for that O. It’s a absolute darn shame with everything going on, and it just shows how much the board really cares to see the team win, or else we would have held interviews. I don’t know the meaning behind holding no interviews but I believe some things that I won’t post on here, and I don’t see it being for the better, but we will see. I just know the board is taking the easy way out. Could we be marking down the last of Oneida Football? Playing for Oneida don’t mean anything anymore, it’s a shame.

  4. Just a few things: 1. There will always be an organization that oversees high school athletics in the State of Tennessee 2. The Board of Control members are nothing more than gang leaders that protect their little piece of turf. They have no intention of doing what is right for the overall high school athletic programs in Tennessee. 3. Almost all of the employees of the TSSAA are trained educators that have absolutely zero experience owning or managing a multi-million-dollar organization before being hired by the TSSAA. Why should anyone expect them to do well when they only know what the fools before them have done. 4. Fan interest has plummeted over the last 25+ years and the TSSAA has not figured out that more divisions and gold balls is not the answer. If you want to create fan interest and place butts in seats you must have good competition. By trying to legislate people being successful has virtually ruined two or three generations. At some point and time people must get tough and understand that there are no free lunches! You get what you earn, and life is not fair! 5. Do the following to create competition: A. Do away with D1 and D2 and place everyone back together B. Class A: Small rural schools. No magnet schools, charter or private schools C. Class AA: Public school, small magnet schools and small private schools that do not offer financial aid or work study D. Class AAA: Public schools, large magnet schools, charter schools and small private schools that offer financial aid and or work study E. Class AAAA: Public schools and large private schools that offer financial aid and or work study F. All individual sports (wrestling, cross country, track & field, swimming, diving, tennis, etc...) will only crown one individual state champion. Again, it's past time that everyone learns that the world is not 100% fair and that you should earn a state championship and not everyone that participates in athletics becomes a state champion.

  5. Things are too far gone with NIL and transfer portal unable to be stopped. Go ahead and blow it all up. Unlimited transfers without residence change, except six weeks before the regular season and until the state championship ends. All sports. Rich will get richer and others will struggle and possibly fold up their tent. So be it. Remove all student enrollment classification and classify by merit with regions by location. Reset the regions each year, have it done a month after the state championships in each sport. Boys and girls basketball would have to end doubleheaders in the same location. (Riverdale girls would host Blackman, boys would host Lebanon, for example). Without such drastic changes or something similar things won’t continue anyway. Too much money and potential litigation involved. Go ahead and get ahead of it.

  7. Hopefully the Government pressure makes the TSSAA change it's mind. I can understand why TSSAA is fighting it, majority of shot callers are from the old school, a time in which communities fought together against the next community instead of joining them. My biggest concern is that the TSSAA should know that all facilities/ programs are not equal and as a parent I want to put my kid in the best situation for growth.

  8. It's crazy that people say private school education is that much better, when their teachers, at least at some private schools do not have to have any type of licensure or certification

  9. I had heard that they got a rb from Seymour and a truck was purchased by a “doctor” who was a booster member. The short calf on here claimed it was false

  10. Not in Tennessee 😂 idk why y’all think Tennessee HS hoops is a gauntlet, shoot not anymore, the teams today are NOTHING compared to what we had 6,7,8 years ago 😂 I seen the best teams in the state choke as soon as they got to an college arena, most these kids can’t shoot from the college 3 point line
