  1. I would like to see him at UT as an offense analyst and special teams coordinator!
  2. Also, Liberty has a Rebel on the coaching staff ( Josh Caraway).
  3. New coach says Matthews is back to run the offense. Said it this afternoon on WMNL.
  4. Thank you Farragut Football for having this on Livestream. Thanks to whoever built the visitors press box. Love watching from the visitors side of the field.
  5. About fifteen years ago, I was in Lebanon attending a Friendship Christian game against Trousdale County. I was sitting next to a gentleman and his wife. I told him I was from Maryville and loved high school football. The game was great, but the conversation was even better. He was a delightfully humble Christian gentleman. Knowledgeable about football and thoroughly enjoyable to talk too. Never once did he bring up his football pedigree! I was sitting next to greatness and had no idea who he was. I just knew he was one of nicest, family loving (he was there for his grandchildren) man I had met. It was only much later that I learned he was Ted Wilson. He definitely should have his name on something, yet I got the impression that it is not something he cares about. I got the feeling, from our conversation, that Faith, Family, Friends and then Football was his list of priorities.
  6. Will he be bringing in any former players and coaches to fill his staff, i.e. Josh Caraway at Coastal Carolina, or will he lure a few high school coordinators?
  7. As a Rebel parent (although I was a Alcoa fan, the first time I saw Alcoa play in Nashville about 1979), I understand the depth issue that frustrates Alcoa. I know plenty of times Alcoa has had several top athletes, that played on both sides of the ball. This is a legitimate complaint (sometimes over used after a loss to Maryville). Yet, I also recognize that Maryville could have players play both ways, which could have given them an advantage (making the defense or offense better). That’s the coach’s choice, agree or disagree, it does make a difference in this game. I am just so thankful the administration and coaches agree to play this game every year. I just love this rivalry! I feel greatly blessed to live her in Maryville and enjoy not just the game, but the commitment by both schools to an absolute “Standard of Excellence “ in high school football. What I would like to see, is a game that required players to play offense and defense. Have a few players extra just in case someone gets hurt. No special teams players. A true 11 on 11, old fashioned neighborhood gridiron gut check. Only then would we know, who has “the best” team!
  8. I don’t know how Maryville does it, they are one of the best teams at scoring at the end of the first half. Halftime adjustments will tell who has the better coaching staff.
  9. My guess is either way it goes, TSSAA has a way out. They can say the decision was out of their hands. Too late to play a make-up game. Since they know that Maryville won, after the McMinn vs. DB game had been called off. They just say, “Well, McMinn lost to Maryville already, while don’t we just let DB have a shot at beating the Rebs?”
  10. Maryville radio announcers saying, if Rebels can get by Bradley, DB is coming to the Black-Hole.
  11. Hunt ran for 230 yds against Maryville, but the Rebs keep him out of the end zone. He played both ways, looked a bit tired towards the end of the game.
  12. DB needs to forget the SH game. They should view this as the start of the playoffs. Hats off to DB for scheduling this game. I give the edge to Alcoa, but this should be a great game! A lose by either team, doesn’t really impact their playoff seeding. Just play wide open, have fun and don’t get anybody hurt.
  13. Farragut has it on their Facebook page, I believe. I don’t know if they do the youtube live or not, but they did the night they played Maryville.
  14. With a used car lot beside it, I assume?
  15. I like DB in this one. You have to shut down #20. He is all over the field. Batman, you might enjoy watching the Maryville vs. Farragut game on you tube. The Rebs did a pretty good job of covering him. A few interceptions and some pass interference calls helped too.
