  1. Station Camp has a good young squad. A force to be reckoned with for sure in the near future.
  2. Birmingham, AL has an excellent indoor facility. Not sure about their tournament schedule, but not a far drive.
  3. The only game that has the potential to be close is CPA v CCS. The other three will be cakewalks for Greeneville, CAK and Notre Dame. CCS should win by 2. No disrespect meant to any of the other teams, just calling it as I see it. Semis will be fun to watch!
  4. Station Camp versus Brentwood moved to Monday at 2:30 (we have no lights). Field already saturated with lots of rain expected tonight.
  5. Anyone see this in the Commercial Appeal? Thursday, Oct. 29 Championship, Arlington at Brighton .... (Winner will be decided by coin flip) Thursday, Oct. 29 Championship, Collierville vs. Houston at Houston Middle School ... (Winner will be decided by coin flip)
  6. See that? But it's fine. I want to see if G copies mine or something... Hey college boy, get in the bed at a decent hour...helps with the studies!
  7. Which teams have come out of District 13 and 14?
  8. Farragut has also been eliminated.
  9. Station Camp 2 Hendersonville 0 0 goals allowed in district play. Excellent job girls!
  10. I am a firm believer that the rankings don't matter until the end of the year and you did not win State. Finishing in the top 10 rankings is some consolation and a feel good thought to carry forward. But now I am seeing the frustration with Eurosport rankings. No disrespect to the Hendersonville players or coaches, (you know I love most of ya), but how do they end up 8th in the Redmond poll (combines all divisions) when SC is higher than them in AAA. Oh well, hope we win State so I don't have to look back to Eurosport for anything but scores.
  11. Pretty much what I thought! Against weaker competition it is easier to get the ball yourself and score. Against stronger competition a teammate will have to get the ball to you. And what I saw of Page in preseason was not a team that could help in a tough game.
  12. Page combined scores in two seasons versus Huntland 26-0, Cornersville 26-0, Community 22-0. How is that classy??!! Nothing against the girls, but if you beat a team 15-0 last year, why beat them 11-0 this year? Interested to know how many KM scored in each of those games. I have watched her play...and she is a good player...unfortunately she did not play in the preseason game versus SC as I was hoping to see her play against a good defense.
  13. LOL...see Lady Patriot thread. Can anyone say cupcake?
  14. THIS IS NOT AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL! There is no mercy rule. Clock never stops running no matter the score. Ref's should not let that hand ball, or slide tackle go just because it will not change the outcome of the game. These are safety issues, and LAWS OF THE GAME. They MUST be followed. Ref's are to be blades of grass on the field. They are not for or against either team. I have never seen a ref, in my 30+ years of playing/coaching, let something dangerous go because they felt sorry for the team getting stomped. I have seen them hold subs at the half line due to coaches fussing too much about this and that. Actually there is a mercy rule if the coaches agree (we were involved in two of these last year). And the clock does stop in high school on goals, pk's and injuries when the ref signals the clock operator. And I totally agree, the refs shouldn't let that dangerous play go when the outcome is inevitable, but it happens. (Also note that I said handled ball in my post.) Yes, I too am a ref but avoiding high school until my daughter graduates.
  15. I am not at all against slide tackling...but let me give you a player's point of view of the referee's calls. My daughter is also a grade 8 referee and knows the rules of the game very well. Obviously she has been involved in some lopsided games this season and her point of view is that the refs don't call dangerous slide tackles (nor any foul nor handled ball) against a team that is obviously outmatched. In several games this season, late slide tackles (some very late) have not been called or carded (at least card them). The refs have got to keep the players' safety in mind, no matter what the score. Unfortunately too many look the other way when the outmatched team is the offender.
  16. Station Camp plays three games in one day because of the rain at the McMinn County tournament. With only two subs because of injury, I bet there will be some serious sleeping on the way home. Big games this week with Riverdale and Hendersonville. Get plenty of rest girls! Congratulations on the three wins.
  17. I apologize...I may have started the whole thing because I was bored with all the off-topic conversation I was reading a couple of weeks ago. I was just trying to be funny I take it back and promise to never do that again. I am enjoying my daughter's senior season at Station Camp and trying to not talk about it, but love reading all the posts and banter.
  18. Sorry, haven't been here to reply. Wynn Hodge, McGavock's coach is the contact. I haven't talked with him this year yet, but his contact info may be on the McGavock website. On another subject....have you seen the U12 girls team at TUSC...just kidding...lmao.
  19. Maybe TSSAA could enforce the recreational "5 goal" rule. If a team gets up by 5 goals, then a goal by a player that has previously scored results in a goal kick. If a goal is scored by a player that has not scored, then it is a goal. When this happens with my U8 daughters team (and she cannot score again), she will tell everyone to let the other team score so she can score again. Works for me!
  20. Been watching Champions League games the last couple of days on Fox Soccer Channel with Dish Network. Don't know if it is a free trial (just showed up a few days ago) or a basic channel now, but loving it. Watched a couple of games on the computer last season (for free)...might try that.
