  1. Yall might want to watch out for John overton they are doing really good with the baseball play mookie betts yall are talking about the east and west basketball i mean Overton is shooting like 20 points over in regions don't leave them out of your eyes i am not saying they r the best i am saying they are a team not to leave out of state and it will not be a walk in a park for them but they have alot power on there team what do yall think about them
  2. I would say that David Carpenter bowled for john overton he only bowled 2005 and 2006 and on coacht polls as 14th in the state with a 218 avg then he bowled in 2006 his senior yr and was ranked 3rd in state right under chris and kyle. that year john overton didnt make it to state but david shot 245 279 288 on his last day and ended with a 227 avg and 2 300's and 5 800's *805 824 821 802 813* in them 2 seasons he went undeated his senior year. and now 2011 mookie betts of overton that had a avg of like 254 but he only bowled started in dis and he never shot under a 700 with 86% of his games 800's aaron the kids that won this year asked his dad if mookie was bowling because him and his dad knew they would have been in trouble and he came from overton and 2010 was steven of overton dang it just looks like overton fever to me...and overton coach's in the past years hasnt even know what bowling is..

  5. i dont want to go pro..i dont have 10,00 dollars to pull out of my pocket and be on the buttom of the list
  6. SMYRNA ??” Until this week, bowler Kimberly Hensley hadn??™t competed this season against another girl in a high school match. That was until the start of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association??™s individual state bowling tournament. On Friday, Hensley, a McGavock senior, showed she was the top girl bowler in Division I. Hensley won the second annual individual tournament at the Smyrna Bowling Center, coming back from fifth place to win with 2,679 pins ??” 74 more than runner-up Hilary Bell of Soddy-Daisy. ???I had bowled against (girls in our region) from my freshman to my junior year. It was pretty much if you get 160, you beat her,??? said Hensley, who was forced to join her school??™s boys team this year because there weren??™t enough girl bowlers to field a girls team. ???Bowling with the guys, you??™ve got to have every pin.??? Middle Tennessee dominates Hensley was one of three Middle Tennessee bowlers to win individual titles Friday. Columbia??™s Michael Poirier won the Division I tournament with 3,027 pins to defeat defending champion Gary Faulkner of Germantown by 128 pins. Poirier entered the final game with a 47-pin lead over teammate Travis Howell. Poirier then rolled a 209 and picked up 30 bonus pins for defeating Howell. Faulkner won his game to overtake Howell for second. ???I wanted to win, but if Travis would??™ve have beaten me, I wouldn??™t have been upset,??? Poirier said. ???If a person from another team was up there, I probably would have been more aggressive.??? Pope John Paul II??™s Christina Calvo won the Division II girls title with 1,899 total pins ??” 247 more than teammate Hayley Pionk. ???I was pretty determined to get first after last year, when I got second,??? Calvo said. McCallie??™s Alex Goss was the lone non-Middle Tennessee bowler to win. He defeated defending Division II boys champion Rand Woodson of Montgomery Bell Academy by 157 pins. Six advance to team semifinals Six teams from Middle Tennessee advanced to today??™s team semifinals set for 9 a.m. Both Hendersonville??™s and JPII??™s boys and girls teams won their quarterfinal matches. Page??™s boys and Columbia??™s boys also advanced. Hendersonville??™s girls came a pin short of tying the state record for most in a match. The Lady Commandos had 3,333 total pins in their 24-3 win over Gatlinburg-Pittman. On the boys side, Page upset White Station 18-9. White Station entered the tournament as one of the tournament favorites. Page faces Columbia today in an all-Middle Tennessee semifinal match.
  7. Columbia senior Michael Poirier had a smile on his face Thursday afternoon at the Smyrna Bowling Center after the completion of the semifinals of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association's state bowling individual tournament Not this year. Poirier, who trailed defending Division I state champion Gary Faulkner by 12 pins entering the semifinals, has a 75-pin lead over second place entering today's finals, with three consecutive games of 193 or better under sport shot conditions. The semifinals and finals are oiled differently than regular house-shot conditions to make accuracy a premium. The different oil pattern limits bowlers' ability to throw their traditional hook shots, and it makes them adapt their approach. Poirier failed to reach last year's finals after earning the state's second-best average during the regular season. Poirier has 1,747 total pins through Thursday. Hardin County's Scott McLin is second with 1,672 total pins. Three other Middle Tennessee bowlers ??” Columbia's Travis Howell and Smyrna's Brandon Barnes and Johnny Gillis ??” also made the finals. Family ties "I'm pretty excited about getting (to the finals)," said Barnes, whose brother Kyle helped lead Smyrna to state team titles in 2005 and 2006. "I'm stoked. "A lot of people thought I would do well since this is my (home lanes). And I'm a Barnes." Middle Tennessee bowlers comprise three of the four leaders in the four individual tournaments In addition to Poirier among Division I boys, MBA's Rand Woodson leads the Division II boys and Pope John Paul II's Christina Calvo enters the finals in first in Division II girls. Hixson's Allie Chase is the lone non-area leader. She leads McGavock's Kimberly Hensley by 60 pins in the Division I girls tournament. Hensley, who had one pin more under sport shot conditions than the normal house shot, said she has bowled plenty of games on those conditions. "It's easier when you bowl on it every week," said Hensley, who had 735 of her 1,469 pins in the semifinals. "I bowl on it every week in a league. That helps when you have done it." Woodson, the defending D-II individual champion, has 741 pins and leads Lausanne's Trevor Therrell by 10 pins. Bowlers in D-II do not compete in a quarterfinal round, as in Division I, because of the reduced number of schools. Calvo has 695 total pins to lead St. Benedict's Shelby Plass by 63 pins. "I'm a little nervous, but I think I can do it," Calvo said. Mr./Miss Bowler Awards: Three Middle Tennessee bowlers received the inaugural Mr. or Miss Bowler award. Woodson received the D-II boys award; J.P. II's Hayley Pionk received the D-II girls award; and Poirier won the Division I boys award. Hardin County's Megan Alcott won the Division I girls award.
