  1. Mountain brook beat IMG academy last year. They have an incredible program. They actually lost 4 starters from last year.
  2. The refs have been told to call it that way this year. They were told to call it that way last year and did for a few weeks and then decided to stop calling everything. The tssaa has made it clear to the officials to call it tight this year. Will be interesting to see if they do that the entire year.
  3. I don't have a dog in it . I've been to the tournament in the Bahamas a couple of times and was just saying it does take a lot out of you. Not saying DB is better than Science Hill just saying that most high school teams don't play two games in a day and 5 in 4 days this time of year. Plus travel and sun and what it does to you. Most Thanksgiving tournaments are 2 or 3 games not 5 then turn around and play 2 games as soon as you get back. That's 7 games in a 10 day period. That's awesome to hear that Science Hill played so well in theirs Coach Cutlip does a great job. Once again wasn't making excuses for DB or a loss to Science Hill just mentioning as to why their play might be sluggish.
  4. I'll be honest and it's not excuses for DB but the trip to the bahamas takes a lot out of a team. They played 5 games in 4 days with the pace of play and physicality of the games a lot quicker and tougher than America. They've looked good this year at times
  5. Cordova is probably the second best team in the state but this is probably the state title game based on teams at state
  6. I haven't read the whole thread but is the tsp reasoning to protect spring sports from missing athletes? If so,I know there are football all star games months into basketball season. Either way it would be great for the state and the kids. Sad rule
  7. It was great to have the tradition, talent, fans and coaching of Oak Ridge at CAK tonight. Though we lost it was a great home crowd for us and playing against Oak Ridge can't help but make us better in AA. Tonight was great for CAK basketball to see tradition and a great team
  8. They will not lose in 4A regardless of their defense in my opinion. To me the top 2 large privates are another animal but I would love to see Catholic vs Maryville.
  9. Even with the ability to lose in the region, basketball still has 6 elimination games to win a state championship. Football has 5 elimination games and 6 classifications. They have it a lot easier. I like how it's set up for bball . You determine seeding in district tournament and if you lose region final you travel.
  10. Don't be surprised if Davy Crockett high school has more. They were averaging 13 makes a game for a while. They broke the Arby's classic record for 3's this year and have hit a high of 21 in a game. Patrick Good has hit 11 on a few occasions.
  11. One thing for sure Eric Mitchell teams have always been able to shoot and play hard. Not sure about Crockett
  12. Davy Crockett has been well above pace to break it as well. Not to mention they broke the arby's classic record for 3's. One player has hit 11 in a game 3 times this year. But 31 in a game thats just crazy!
  13. CAK has one senior daniel martin who is able to play. The other senior craig carter broke his leg in football. CAK will be missing several guys tonight
  14. Cole plays a lot of minutes just doesn't start but he's a top 3 player on team . Sulack doesn't start either. Great win for grace. cak was missing cole smith, Michael Debusk, Craig carter and stewart Howell. Not to mention coming off a big game with catholic the night before while grace played greenback. Great win for Grace hope it is a jump start for their season. On to a bigger game at Alcoa on Friday.
  15. Congrats to Coach Windle and the Govs
