You should thank your lucky stars he took that job. Nobody wanted it and to get a coach who cares for kids like he does is awesome. Can’t always go by wins and losses.

Chester can be really good if they buckle down and play defense and get some discipline on offense. SS and NS show flashes of being good especially defensively but their offenses are very inconsistent.

True. Tmsaa doesn’t seem to care much about rules at the moment. It’s run a little worse than it’s big brother

That problem has more than one culprit. It began with the leadership in McNairy County not wanting to move up county games so the area tournament could be done earlier. Even without the weather it would have wound up the same way. However with the weather the tmsaa was unwilling to move sectional back

Hiring Franks as AD was a huge mistake. Had no experience with admin and don’t think he had a teaching license when first hired. He took the HC position in football when he did because he knew the talent level coming was going to be the best through there in a long time. He also got out when the cupboard was getting thin. This is a tough job and it will be difficult to hire an experienced coach

Not going to “pull” kids from MS Or surrounding counties. Why would kids from Hardin or Chester come when they have had successful programs. McNairy County has open enrollment so kids can go to either high school. There won’t be any kids coming from outside the middle schools so it does matter which one is successful. Selmer middle is the largest and until this year they haven’t been good. You obviously don’t know financial context of a small school system. Pay will not change. Only people that will be interested in this job will be retired from MS or someone from this area.

Dyersburg, Covington and Westview games were over in the first quarter. That’s more about talent than coaching. The cupboard is thin. Selmer middle is the largest feeder school and just won county for the first time in forever. So maybe it’s going to get better. Pay isn’t going to change. That’s not an option in small systems. It’s either someone who is from McNairy or a retired Mississippi man

Yes it is. They might dip into the retired pool from Mississippi but you’re right, won’t stay long and they have gone through a bunch of coaches. Expectations from the community and the so called experts don’t resemble the talent level that is there

Good man ran off by people who have no clue what they are doing. Tough job , very little talent and the pay is not close to other districts. Good luck finding the next coach

Teams from the same district are always put in opposite brackets so they wouldn’t see each other until the final

No shot clock. Biggest obstacle in my opinion is the lack of quality officials. There are some good ones out there but some struggle and now we want to give them something else to keep track of. bad idea

Understand and after making it that far last year and the talent they have on this team. It would be a major upset

Phooey I missed it. Only lost by 31. SG has more talent and saw much better competition during the season. McNairy has some good players but not same caliber as SG. Nothing Lott could do SS will win by 40 if they want

I missed. Sweep almost came the other way with SG being the only winner. Haven't seen Chester vs McNairy but should be no surprises in game #4. I’ll take CC at home and SG

Dyer county vs Haywood maybe the best game with Haywood winning in a close game

First round in the books. SG and Lexington closer than expected. McNairy might be able to keep it to a 20 point game.

I believe this is the weakest these two districts have been in a long time

All their games were close. I believe NS and SS have better athleticism and Fuller is the best coach. NS center is too much for any team in the other district to handle
