  1. If "MP" is who I think it is, isn't he the one who hired the coach directly AFTER Reynolds left? I believe they went 0-10 and got mercy ruled in every game.
  2. Wow! That's a big half time score. Not really surprised by the 28 points from Grace, but 24 from CCS?? Has CCS thrown a pass yet?
  3. Grace by 28. CCS has never been able to stop their passing game.
  4. Selection process is a joke. Watkins was the best RB in the EAST and Brigman the best O-Lineman. I assume the team record had something to do with it.
  5. ... and he certainly did! MVP!! The whole team played great ... especially the D-Line. Congrats to McCallie!
  6. The fact that McCallie beat Ensworth without their main running back speaks volumes about the kid who lead them to victory. Do you actually think they would have won if DeAngelo missed the game and Harris played? I don't think McCallie has played MBA this season so beating them twice is not an issue. Eric Rivers has certainly been an added benefit this season, but the main man in McCallie's offense has been DeAngelo Hardy. Delo showed everybody last week why he should have been a finalist for the Mr Football award ... and he's not through proving that fact.
  7. I would never bet against DeAngelo Hardy (McCallie QB) ... he is a winner! It's my opinion that he will find a way to win one more.
  8. CCS is losing 12 seniors. 6 starters on defense - 5 starters on offense. 4 of the 5 starters on offense is on the line - plus the tall receiver #19 ... all of the offensive backs will return except #10, who is the 4th back on offense and is probably our most aggressive player on defense.
  9. The future is definitely bright at Boyd-Buchanan. I've never met the Boyd coach, but I love what he is doing there. He got the kids to believe in themselves ... then he set the schedule up in a way that they could get a few easy wins ... by then, the confidence rolled over into region play ... he provided positive reinforcement the entire way - and still is by promoting his QB for the Mr football award. I plan on attending several Boyd games next year.
  10. CCS played their best game of the year against CAK Friday night. They ran for over 400 yards and just about everything went the CCS way. Congratulations to CAK on a very successful season. I think you were right all along when you said that CCS was not a good matchup for CAK. For whatever reason (honestly, I don't know why), CAK only scored a total of 13 points in 2 games against CCS, which is way below the CAK average on the season. Based on that, one would think that the CCS defense was what CAK struggled with ... on the surface, I would have thought the offensive line would be where the CCS advantage was. For CCS, it's now on to CPA, where they will be big underdogs.
  11. So you must think Knox Grace would beat Lipscomb by worse than 50-7
  12. They are both good examples of what I'm talking about. The QB chose McCallie and the DE chose Baylor and when Baylor didn't work out, he finished the school year at Tyner then ended up at McCallie the next year. Do you think either of them considered any other private school besides Baylor or McCallie? They were in the cream of the crop group I referred to.
  13. Uh ... have you been to any of the CCS vs. Baylor/McCallie games the last 3 years? One word ... Brutal.
  14. Bottom line ... CCS will never be able to compete with Baylor & McCallie in football. Both of those schools get the cream of the crop in the Chattanooga area. They have the facilities and prestige that every parent wants for their kid. And if the kid is good enough, they won't have to pay very much at all - if anything. Then when you add the fact that they have border athletes and can get players from all over the place ... how is CCS supposed to compete with that? I could be wrong, but I don't believe it will ever happen. Now in other sports ... maybe CCS can occasionally win. For example, the CCS basketball team beat a very good Baylor team last year, but it only takes about 7-8 good basketball players to be competitive ... unlike football, which requires many more.
  15. He did not play, but probably could have. I think he'll be ready next week.
