Is Bradley County opened zoned where kids may attend any school of their choice provided, they furnish their own transportation to and from school? Does Bradley County charge a small (Less than $2000.00) fee for kids that live outside the school zone to attend the various schools?

I’m not sure that Father Ryan has enough balance throughout the lineup to win a state title but I do agree with you that over the long haul relationships & consistency wins. The desire to BUY a state championship by recruiting elite wrestlers over developing kids in your youth program is a debate for another day. IMO, developing talent is much more satisfying than buying the elite kids but to each their own.

How is this dual looking now as it has been reported that two (2) of the best wrestlers for The Baylor School have been expelled for a serious dorm violation.

My thoughts are that if a student/athlete transfers from any school to a boarding school after they have an established high school athletic record they should be required to sit out one full academic year. Example: someone attends a public or private school in New York and transfers to a board school in Tennessee as a sophomore they should be required to sit out and not compete their sophomore year. Now if the student/athlete is a national champion as an 8th grader and they transfer to a boarding school during their freshman year they are eligible immediately as a freshman.

Is it true that Cleveland withdrew only a few days before the Johnny Drennan Invitational? Was Cleveland dodging a few teams? Just asking the question.

Cleveland defeated Father Ryan 35-32 and Baylor spanked Father Ryan. Now let’s be honest and say that how teams match up play a large roll in the outcome of a dual match. Everyone knows that FR had 2 key starters out of the lineup for the matches with Cleveland, Baylor and McCallie. IMO, if everyone is voting objectively I see absolutely no way that Baylor is not the top ranked team in Tennessee at this time. I will say that due to how they match up I could see McCallie beating Baylor is a close dual.

I can promise you that if coaches from Brentwood Academy, Ensworth, Father Ryan or Montgomery Bell Academy show up at MNPS middle school football games wearing school shirts the parents flock to them. The coaches don’t have do go up to the parents.

The TMSAA is nothing more than another revenue stream for the TSSAA. The teams in Middle Tennessee that are members do not even know the rules and basically do as they wish when it comes to scheduling games.

If you don’t recruit you will not win and that includes both public and private schools.

If the Board of Trust will allow him to bring in a great coaching staff along with players, BGA will be ultra successful. Bobby Bentley knows how to both recruit and win but everyone must be pulling on the same end of the rope or it will be a total disaster.

No members of the Board of Trust should have children or grandchildren enrolled at the school. It creates too many problems and is not the image that an academic institution should want.

No way that FR takes Baylor down by 10 unless Baylor sends out the JV

Mater Dei will have kids that are not ranked in Indiana that place high this weekend.

Right or wrong with so many people being allowed to work remotely it’s actually surprising to me that more families are not moving from one state to another one for their children's athletics. The end result of Covid has really changed how and where families live while never changing jobs. If a school has a high profile coach like Trent Dilfer that is known worldwide that alone attracts talent to a school. There are very, very few high school coaches with the name recognition of TD where they can make a call on a players behalf and get the in front of numerous power 5 coaches.

You talk about Lipscomb bringing in kids from out of state. Do you not think that Baylor and McCallie bring in kids from out of state. Look at all the kids they have from the Canadian national team.

Josh did well when Tony Rowland was training the kids during the offseason.

This is a great hire for BGA. Bobby Bentley was great coach and player at Byrnes. If BGA will allow him to recruit and hire a good coaching staff, they will be successful.

I would go so far to say that any of the better teams in Tennessee like Cleveland or Baylor should not wrestle against each other in a dual match until the later part of January. With kids just getting out of football early in the season along with the weight reduction plan you really don’t get a very good representation of each team in December.

I know that I am dating myself, but I have never understood why someone would schedule an event and then cancel. Even if you have kids not at 100% you can always take the kids that are ready to wrestle.

Most of the elite high school wrestlers are receiving training from individuals that many times are better technicians than a high percentage of the college coaches.

Marcus Blaze is a difficult matchup for most all high school wrestlers

IMO, Father Ryan lost to both Brentwood and Nolensville and there should be absolutely no excuses. Apparently FR is not wrestling very well as they also lost to Union County, KY. It could be the Irish are not as good as advertised this season.

Trickey Rickey always has a plan. The guy is a competitor and a genius at getting the best out of high school athletes.
