So how did this District finish in the regular season? Who plays who in the tournament?

I am an out of towner who always comes to Rutherford county during play-off time. I was very interested in seeing Siegel after reading about them all year. They are a good team but the Riverdale team they beat last night is not what I have seen from Riverdale in the past. Its obvious. I am not taking anything away from Siegel and will be pulling for the mid-state like I always do but it makes me wonder if the district as a whole was as strong this year as normal.

Don't know the entire team but Shelbyville had 4 make the team. Seniors Jonathan and David Pearson and Juniors Reed Emerson and Jackson McAnally How about the other teams?

Franklin Co hosts Lincoln Co and Shelbyville hosts Lawrence Co in the first round. I believe that the Franklin Co-Lincoln Co winner will play Tullahoma and the Shelbyville-Lawrence Co winner will play Columbia. Where will these games be played and when?

AC doesn't want a Head Coaching assignment. She is good with being an assistant coach at the college level. She is a good recruiter and a very good assistant coach. The question is can Shelbyville Central administration attract a top notch coach. We will see what thy've got with the next hire. Show us something boys.

Shelbyville beats Franklin Co. 4-0 at Franklin Co

Columbia has a great field. I don't believe that it is very old so I can understand that there might not be funds available yet to light it. Just an assumption. I was at a softball game at Shelbyville and noticed that the baseball field has a new metal outfield fence. It looks really nice as does the playing surface. If only they had saved enough money to put a door-knob on the men's restroom. LOL

I just wanted to remind the Boro supporter that it appears to be true that they were not coached well enough to win. I mean really, how can a coach leave players on the floor in the 1st half when they have 3 fouls and get mad at the refs when they pick up #4? Not only that. After they get beat by an obviously better team he has the nerve to blame the refs in the paper the next day and call it the worst officiated game he has ever seen and that they cheated his team for being big. Give me a break. He must have forgotten the home game he had against Cleveland. Siegel was called for 1 foul in the entire first half in that game while Cleveland was called for 9. That allowed Siegel to come back from an early deficit. To Cleveland's credit they never mentioned it after the game. The Cleveland coach took the loss and showed tons of class by praising his player's and giving Siegel credit for making plays and not one time mentioned the ref's. Suck it up and be a man coach. You got beat by a better team and that should have been your post-game comments. You could gain a lot of respect by talking positive about your team's accomplishment's and giving your opponent credit. Instead, you look even worse by whining and complaining about the ref's. chance of gaining respect gone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's a toss up between Knox West and Craigmont but will pick Craigmont. I believe that White Station will handle Clarksville rather easily. Bearden routs McMinn Co. and Siegel squeeks by West Creek. White Station and Craigmont is a tough match-up but I will go with White Station. Bearden beats Siegel by double digits. White Station in a close one over Bearden.

I say Craigmont, White Station, Bearden and Siegel win in the first round. I will predict White Station and Bearden in the finals with White Station taking the Gold ball back to Memphis. What does everyone else think?

The difference is that we the fans can take whoever we want to lightly. You can only hope that the other teams would take Siegel lightly but the coaches would never let their teams do that so don't get your hopes up. Who knows what is going to happen today with the draw but one thing is for certain. The Stars will be playing much stronger competition than they are use to while others have been playing strong competition all season. Can't wait till next week.
