Hardin Valley 1 Houston 1 - I was late and missed the first 20 min. HV was up by 1 and I never found out how they scored. Houston scored early in the 2nd half off a cross, #4 had a nice finish that was very tricky. Houston did a pretty good job with possesion. HV has a very dangerous team. Nick is very dangerous. When that kid turned it on, he was outstanding. He did seem to stick to just the his side of the field. If he and the other forward would play together instead of just left and right, then I don't see them getting shutout all year. They are a nightmare. Because Nick stayed to his side of the field I thought he was out of the game and had to look to check if he was on the field (10 min without a touch at times). If I'm him or his teammates I am working to make sure he touches the ball at least every other possesion. That is the only bad thing I can say about him and thats not that big a deal in high school, very easly fixed. For all I know it could have just been that one game it happened. I will see tonight. One of the top high school players I have seen. Probolly the most overall complete player I have seen, diff in the discussion. I left Bearden Germantown when Bearden was up by 3 in the second half. I loved the way Gtown came out and switched the field from one side and back to the other. They are a very talented soccer team. I have never been a big fan of Bearden or the way Turner plays. One thing holds true, D wins games. Bearden plays D from ALL 11 possesions. They are strong and fast. Speed kills and Gtown could not stop team. Gtown must have a new keep cause he looked unsure at times. With time and coaching he will get better. #7 was very fun to watch. Was involved in the attack almost every time. Very fast, great touch, understanding of space how to use it, great first touch, very nice passing, took Bearden's strong D on like it was nothing, and can shoot. If Gtown was as athletic as Bearden then they would be the top team to beat IMO, maybe maybe not.

you guys wouldn't throw brentwood in the discussion to beat farragut? and why?

wow how exciting! This is why the game is played. alcoa, i'm jealous that you guys have been apart of so many exciting games (even the ones that did not go your way). Sounds like a truly amazying season but it is not over, you still get a chance for two more close games.... best of luck on your game today. i am sure that is what is at focus, today's games.... akula is a true testiment to good coaching and i wish you the best of luck....

Pinball, i agree (even though i am accussed of bashing and i apologize if i do) but convo could be more knowledge filled. on that note, what do you think of the state tourny so far?

Fair enough.... consider it done. Now i say for tommorrow we will see bearden, brentwood, farragut, and cleveland advance..... tough choices. wish i knew more about the teams..... glad wheather should be nice. anyone gonna post updates while at the game?

thanks pitch..... just getting a little whiplash. like i have stated in previous post, people have question my abilities before and i just wanted an explanation. if stud just wants to hide and belittle people then so be it. just wondering why he would refer to the tactics of easttnref...... BigG can we do something about stud? what i said might have been alittle to harsh but it was the truth. I have given credit where it is due. I don't care to discuss why i believe the way i believe but not while people just pick one part of my post and focus on it, while ignoring the rest (something stud has done to all my post he responded to). THEN, while responding to a half read post they deside to attack me AND THEN lie about it......... If you want to play fantacy and pretend stud then go play dungons and dragons. Don't hide behind a name and attack others. you demanded my credibility and then you lied about yours (played jv?????). Through reading your post the ONLY truth i can gather from them is that you are a soccer snob from the west side of town, if anyone makes any question about a great soccer program not playing so well you feel the need to act like a high schooler..... i do ask that BigG looks into this but as for me i am done with STUD. lol fair enough.... no hard feelings? i guess i just read your post wrong. thought you were asking for my crediability and that i had none. i only post because i love soccer and this is a part of my life (played in east tenn untill college). just understand that i want to see high school soccer in this area become better and have only tried to point out contructive critisizim (though it seems it has been mistaken for bashing high school). High school soccer is not what everone makes it out to be. is there talent? most definitly, but i think some glory is spread where it should not and credit is sometimes not given where it should.... to each his own.

you know stud.... for some one who likes to point things out, you are really good at missing the whole point. do you have selective reading and the ability to read something that is not there? i said winner of kingsbury/cleveland for the title.... but will have to get past farragut..... farragut was never my pick (although i feel they probolly will when it all).... i have no crediablity when it comes to spelling or english (never claimed to), i will give you that, but it seems i have more credibilty in soccer then someone who hides behind a name and tells me that my college career is fake and that i have done nothing to earn any respect at the high school level. which to me is pretty funny, since you know me so well. someone who finished 7th in KIL scoring and second in their district from the outside mid position sounds like they did above average (well it would have to be because only a few scored more). oh and i didn't have a hat trick that year ethier (showing i scored in ALOT of games, pretty much ever game i played my senior year and not just on the bad, but the good to). Where is your credibility? i bet you watched alot of high school games in your day......

i really do like farragut in this one.... but i have heard alot of good things from some other schools. i think kingsbury could be a shocker and i would like to hear them winning it all. Cleveland not loosing a game and putting themselves in position to win ever game is a very good upside. plus i hear they have a very solid D (helps in the tourny), but can they generate the Offense (we will see).... I'm going with the winner of cleveland kingsbury game to win state...... that is if they can find a way to hold off farraguts high speed attack that has been rainning goals here as of late..... tough choice and good luck to all

That is a shame to draw the #1 seed three years in a row. that 04 farragut team was LOADED with talent. diffently in the discussion for best high school team ever, but not limited to just them.

actually i was two year (i think) ahead of that stars team. i was one year under your brother (your brother was a grad in 03 right?). no point in trying to figure out who i am..... you won't know me. i am just a soccer nut who did what he could with what he had. i am really of no importance and was not an overtalked about player. actually quite the opposite and even to this day (as stud has proved) still being dissed and told "you're just a bust and you'll never do it." it's ok because it's been those people (and trust me their were alot) that has helped to fuel my passion to play at a higher level. Pitch, thank you for the complement. as for the first touch being what seperates, i think you hit that nail right on the head. i never thought about it that was but it is sooooooooooooo true.

really stud? really? i "play" college soccer how? last time i checked i was on a college team. my club team my senior year was 2nd in the state and played in some quality tournaments. there was a reason your past post got deleted. you take shots without backing up your smacktalk. i can take criticism but not without reasoning..... as for me bashing high school...... don't misread contructive criticism for "bashing". i give credit. plus i post because i enjoy the high school game. i love soccer period and everything about it.

psudo, the comment that my last remark was in reference to was deleted off the boards... it wasn't bigL it was soccerstud. i guess bigL just saw my name and thought i was craig. soccerstud ask me why i bashed high school play (i am still wondering why people think i am "bashing" high school) and asked if i had the credentials to bash high school. BigL had not made any comments untill asking if i was craig. Looking back though maybe bigL is trying to say something about a NAIA school that controlled a final four D-II team (NKU) and took UK (top 20 D-I) the distance loosing only in the final min 3-2 in the most exciting game i've probolly ever been a part of.... NAIA is speacil. you have any style team and quality that ranges from really bad to excellent soccer. just depends on the program. BigL as psudo said i am not craig.... i did play high school and club ball in knoxville. If that was a crack at NAIA then all i can say is i would watch what i say about the college level before i really experence it. ask akula if there is any quality in NAIA (akula did you ever get to play against the union teams when neto played there?). I know i'm not the only one at an NAIA. Ask the kids that signed at King. Didn't Mitchal Thomas (Mr. Tennesse 2004) go there? don't tell me that players didn't work hard just to go play crapy college ball. if you really watched two quality naia teams you will see quality players and well established play.

where did stud's post go? Stud, you want some crediableity? here you go....... If I have just ONE first bad touch where i go to school (not a high school, try the next level), my coach is ready to pull me off the field. To force a pass is even worse. It doesn't matter how many passes or first touch that i make that are text book (ask psudo if i'm textbook or not), more then one error and coach is ready to pull you. 3/4 of the passes tonight would have been turnovers at the college level (or at least where i play at). You think i have a negative outlook? you should hear what our foriegn players say about high school. i am nice compared to them. actually i am just truthful and try (i imphesis try, but you might read what i say and TAKE it the wrong way which happens way to much) to stick to the facts. When you go on to play at the next level you will understand. I understand the players that play high school level (i didn't play at a strong high school program and played with mostly AYSO players), but i tell you this..... ALOT of people told me that i stand out (even playing a top club team) in areas such as ball control and passing and tempo of the game. I can garentee you this if i wasn't so under average in the athletic department (speed, strength, size), the sky would be the limit for me. And because i was challanged with this lack at athletic gift i was told that i would never play at the next level. i was a joke for even thinking i could play at the college level. "you're not tall enough" "you're not fast enough" "you're too small" "you'll never play varsity soccer at the college level" was written all over these boards. Because i was such a skilled player and had high soccer IQ i survive (trust me it's hard). I traveled the hardest road to make it to where i am to. i was not offered anything out of high school and have worked my way onto a very talented varsity squad where i do play and might even get to start this next year. Is that crediable enough to you? Oh and i didn't have to bad of a high school career maybe i can save that for another day. unless psudo can enlighten how i played in high school. i kinda would love to hear that from someone else

I'm glad i got to see the good half then /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> i would have done the same thing in Wally's position. i do have to say that when Farragut did put together some passes they did it rather effective (not always pretty but if it's effective it doesn't matter). i think they could have cleaned it up ALOT but against most (maybe all, didn't see much high school soccer this season) they will get their fair share of goals.

wow...... sorry but this game to me was sloppy in the second half (got there at half). i have decided that the bad first touch is just high school all together and half of the passes were either sloppy or ball was just played to be played. really disappointed to watch this game and really saw no high points of the game except farragut's second goal ( i do have to admit that was beautifl). Nethier team really possessed in the second half and seemed to be very direct oriented, TOO MUCH FORCING PLAY!!!!! really sad to see these programs play like this to me. i do have to say that i was blown away with some of the passes that were attempted and the first touch.....

Very well written post. finally my intenstion are understood. i do highly agree with your assessment on west's determination and i give tanner alot of credit in being a leader and hugh motivating factor in West will to win. you might have just talked me into coming and watching this game over the other semi.... Pinball i agree with you as well about the level of play not being that big of difference between the four and that west is a force....

wow you guys are making your judgement based one district final game just like i made my assesment on the other OR-West game..... You all don't even read ALL of my post and only respond to pieces of it. I have given West all the credit they deserve if you read the other 5 (or how many ever there are in this particular forum) post. You all have no reasoning (how they play, why they will win this tourny, or even their attributes for that fact) for why they will successed, only that they beat OR once and supposidly dominated the second half. They are capable of Winning ANY game that they play in (at least the 5th time i've stated this and this is giving them the biggest compliment i can give them, SO GROW UP AND QUIET ACTING LIKE CHILDREN!!!!!!), i've just stated my opionion that i do not think they will pull it off and win the region, just not my favorite. My orginal intention of the first comment made towards psudo (someone i go WAY back with), was to take a crack at him and make fun. Now that i think about it all the responses sounds like the winny west team i know and hate to love. Grow up guys and prove it on the field, not a disscussion board! Queit acting like a bunch of little girls and making something out of nothing.... P.S. (Coach being a parent is evident to me because of the reasons i stated and had nothing to do with them winning or loosing, only that it hurt them as they attemted to play that style they do without working on the attributes that make that style work... this is just proof that i am giving facts and you are just winny)
