No Chance Hotel??? I think I have been there. As a matter of fact, I have been on vacation and stayed at the no chance hotel. I lived there during my teen-age years. I hope we do have to play there... it's the pits!!!

The numbers are simple to figure out. Georgia, Florida, Louisianna, South Carolina, etc all have more athletes playing at the next level. Does that imply that Tennessee does not produce any good athletes? Of course, NOT!!! The fact is that Tennessee traditionally does not have a large number of big time college athletes... there are some exceptions but that has been the trend. I have coached outside the state and would put Tenneesee coaches up against anybody. Tennessee coaches do more with less talent and athleticism than the others that I have been. I you want to coach a large number of athletes every year... go to Memphis or leave the state. Personally, I like my average kids. I may never have a great number recruited by colleges but we work hard, improve everyday and COMPETE and that my friends is what high school athletics is all about.

If a kid can help a college program... the colleges will find him. All this talk about big schools and small schools is crazy. When it comes to producing college prospects... Tennessee has a gene pool problem not a school size problem.

This may be the first place that I have EVER seen Brooke Johnson refered to as a dirty or physical player. I wish I could have seen the game - especially if Brooke was taking it to them!!! I have been through the hallowed halls of Livingston Academy and have seen Eldridge with hair. Oh how the girls of LA must have swooned over the curly haired pimp. It is my guess that he also learned the finer points of coaches box defense while living under the legend of hog-eye.

It is true. There are ghosts in that gym and those spirits are not comfortable in their after life. They influence referees and scorekeepers. I have witnessed them make time stand still as the ball is advanced up the floor, a shot is taken and a "phantom" foul is called by a possessed official as time runs off the clock. It is difficult to play at AC. That extra defender in the home team's coaches box is a perplexing problem to which most visiting coaches have a difficult time adjusting. Please keep and hands and feet inside the coaches box until the game comes to a complete stop - thank you. I will make a prediction..... the team with the most points will win this game!!!! Of couse the possibility of this happening is all speculation... but it makes for fun conversation. If you were to take out all of the private school... Divide the public schools into thirds based on enrollment.

There has been a lot of talk concerning the public vs private schools. One line of thinking is that the private schools should be totally taken out of the mix and have their own state tournaments for all private schools. If this occurs then the remaining public schools would need to be re-aligned based on enrollment into class AAA, AA and A. Some schools would be effected by this action and change classification. I hope this clears the mud.

There are reasons the job has not been posted. Most of them are nobodies business other than the schools administration. I agree that if somebody were to be hired quickly then all the gossip that takes place in the community and on this board would change direction - but there are other considerations. When the appropriate time comes... everything will take the appropriate course. As to speculation as to behind the scenes action.... gossip, gossip, gossip. People have friends and friends talk. The principal is the man in charge!!!!! Let there be no mistake made about that. This will be the last post I will make concerning this topic. I would suggest to all of the interested parties... Let's give LukeDuke some credit on this one because he actually may know something after all - even if he does not have his facts straight!!! I did call a friend of mine that I have worked with before and encouraged him to apply for the girls job. I suggested if everything worked out and he got the job... maybe he could assist me again as he had time... with the boys!!! As I said earlier... Nice attempt - try again.

I don't know who you are (nor do I care) and I do not know what you think you know - but it is obvious that you have no clue what you are talking about. I have made several calls to people that I think might be interested in the girls job (to encourage them to contact our principal). I do not have any clue who will eventually be hired. They may be a local... it may be somebody from outside the community but I would be foolish not to encourage people that I know would do a great job to inquire about the job. Nice attempt..... keep trying.

Don't get me wrong... I really love OS and I love those girls too but I am not their man. The suggestion that I will need to do both might be the most ridiculous suggestion (among a lot of other silly suggestions) made on this thread to date. [Edited by coachchannell on 3-27-03 1:10P]
