  1. The only senior had an ACL last season and played sparingly this season. No one has a broken foot or leg. #33 (junior) has an ACL tear ow and will have surgery in the near future.
  2. Bearettes were in USA Today's top 25 back in the mid 90's. For multiple weeks.
  3. The TSSAA controls all of the video broadcast rights for the post-season. No school can stream except thru NFHS and they must be a member of that organization. BCHS is a member and will be streaming on NFHS beginning about 6:30. The audio will be the live radio play-by-play from Talk 101.3 The Buzz, synched with the video. The Buzz has carried BCHS football for many years.
  4. I love your enthusiasm but let me correct you on a couple of items. The 7 OT game was 65-64 and Lovell was not our first coach. J.F. Conrey was the 1916 coach for the Bears. Lovell came to BCHs as coach in 1917 after being a 4-sport letterman at his beloved UT. Go Bears!
  5. Streaming is only allowed through NFHS due to TSSAA rules and regulations.
  6. Marcus Goree returned the kickoff for 89 yards. Not Boo. Boo had a 75-yard punt return.
  7. Since 1962. They were ranked #1 for the first three weeks. This was coming off the 1961 season when they were voted state champs.
  8. Bearden game is at BCHS. No matter when you may see somewhere else.
  9. Now you understand about Coacht. Congratulations!
  10. I don't know who your sources are but you better drop them like a hot potato. Stovall did move to Cleveland. She is a teacher at BCHS and her children are enrolled at BCHS but she is not any type of coach at BCHS. Coach Reuter, Coach Tinsley, Coach Freeman and Coach Belford are still in charge of our great Bearettes program. It looks like you just joined Coacht yesterday and this is your first post. We try to be accurate on here as much as possible. So please verify your posts before you post them or you look like a fool.
  11. They did not have an official game until 1927 between the schools since MCHS didn't start playing football as MCHS until 1927 according to the historians at MCHS. Bradley Central played a game in 1916 against U.S. Grant University which later became Tennessee Wesleyan College/University around 1920. Some folks consider that as a game between the two schools but it was not an official game. It is referred in newspapers of that era as a game between the Cleveland school and McMinn County but it was more of a game between groups from the two towns. BCHS' first game was in 1916 with Tyner. BCHS was known at that time as Central High School when it first opened in 1916.
  12. I would like a shot clock after seeing it in some states and in college. The biggest and maybe only drawback is the expense of installing it in a gym on both ends and then having someone competent enough to control it accurately. It can't just be some parent or fan who 'thinks' they know how to do it. There's rules and situations that you must know about when to reset it or reset it to a certain number of seconds. Also, it will be an added chore for the officials to watch so they must understand the different scenarios involved in this. It will have a learning curve but one that is certainly worth the effort it takes.
  13. Bradley Central and McMinn County have played continuously since the 1927 season, 96 consecutive years. This is the 2nd longest continuous rivalry in the state. Rockwood and Harriman hold the longest streak since 1924, 99 years. The Bears lead the series with the Cherokees 55-41-3. This will be the 100th game. They have played twice in 3 different seasons. Marion County/South Pittsburg had the longest streak until 2020 when they had a slight dispute and have not played since.
  14. It wasn't Coach Floyd but Coach Akins at Walker Valley who is on the Tennessee Coaches group who brought it up. He thinks its a done deal in a couple of years. That transfers will be allowed like college without having to sit out a year. No matter the distance between new schools. It'll be a nightmare for some schools.
  15. No. BCHS and CHS are in District 5AAAA, Region 3 that matches up with Region 4 (Murfreesboro) in the sub-state. Bearden is in region 2 (Knoxville area) that matches up with region 1 (upper East Tennessee) in the sub-state.

  17. The game was moved up due to impending thunderstorms with lightning. You can play in rain but not lightning.
  18. BCHS and MCHS first played in 1927. That was MCHS' first season. Prior to that a high school in Athens that played the Bears was part of the U.S. Grant College, known today as Tennessee Wesleyan University.
  19. BCHS/MCHS is the 2nd longest series without interruption since when they 1st played. S.Pitt and Marion County streak ended two seasons ago. Midway and Rockwood are the longest currently since 1924.
  20. Maybe you didn't realize it but Howard is now in our district. They will have to be reckoned with in the boys' race.
  21. Yes they are on the BCHS Bear Network that can be found on the BCHS Facebook page or YouTube.
  22. It will be on the NFHS network and on YouTube and Facebook. Search for BCHS Bear Network.
