rockwood has to get by morristown west before they win the tournament. not sure if they are ready for that.

i agree that west will be number one. they have 7 strong seniors back this year that have a lot of expierience together as well as tough games so that will give them an advantage.

how can morristown east or greeneville defend the conference when they didn't win it last year. last time i checked the trojans were number one and cocke county finished number two. so i find it hard for a team to defend a team that they didn't win last year. and yes the trojans are talked about a lot, but why shouldn't they be because they always seem to finish at the top every single year.

the west high trojans should be pretty tough this year. i look for them to be goin pretty deep.

i believe that how south did give west a fit at the begining of the game, west came out the second half and gave south a fit with a near comeback. when east did score 21 south went on to score 41 straight. so they couldn't have gave them much of a challenge the whole time

yes there were four unsportsmanlike penalties during the south game. and no they were not all by the same person. this is a statement made by someone who just jumped to conclusion becuase i know that they don't state the number of a player during high school games so how do you know who exactly they were on?

i wish there was a way for both teams to lose this one. greeneville has done something this year that suprised us all. greenway finally stayed out of trouble and showed what he can do if he finishes a season seeing as how he couldn't through football or baseball last year. and curt phillips is a talented athlete problem is he knows it and doesn't fall short of tellin ya. everyone talked about him getting punched in the west game, and maybe with his attitude the way it is a punch is just what he needed and maybe deserved a couple more.

i hope south doyle beats db, because of the way db acts when they win. they are very unsportsman like and try to show off. south doyle does both takes defeat and wins well. they don't try to make it seem like you don't belong on the field with them. i think that this reflects on the coaches and in this case south doyle coachs are teaching there players more then the db coaches are.

the hands are considered part of the bat, this has happened to me before with being hit in the hands, the ump yelled foul ball and we continued the bat. the batters box is for the batter, interference cannot be called. this again happened to be, a runner from my team ran to third and i was in the box and made no attempt to move. the cather threw the ball away and the coach of the team said i was in the way. the umps met and discussed that there's no rule about the batter having to leave the box seeing as how it is the spot he is supposed to stay. after a dropped third strike a batter can be called out if he leaves the baseline. no part of the batter can be out of the box when he makes contact, if noticed the batter is out. on a ball thrown out a play the runner gets one baseball and if he is on his way to one he gets that one plus another. the runners may advance on a infield fly, this rule only is there for the fielders. the only one out of an infield fly is the batter, so therefore if the ball is not caught the runners may advance. a pitch that bounces may be hit. there is no rule saying it is dead. the batter can swing and hit any ball that is thrown. the pitcher does not have to come set the pick off, the only time he has to come set is before he goes to the plate.

i have been told by numerous amounts of people that, that was what happened to him. i wasn't just going out and telling facts i heard at school. most the people at my school don't even know who he is. so don't say i'm spreadin stuff that i don't know what i'm talking about when so many people have said that it was what happened. not matter how sad it maybe.

chase was a heck of an athlete and it was sad that this is the news that everyone has to hear about him. i just hope people that are close to him realize what drugs and alcohol will do to you and stay away from him. because i know the family would hate to lose another

i did state it and a coach of a very dominant school was asked to tell him what he knows of the rule. with a rule like this one the umpire(s) cannot call a game, they do not have the authority. they didn't know the rules so it doesn't matter, but someone was called and they were told that it was a rule but they couldn't call it that rutledge could play under protest and the game would be checked by the tssaa board. i knew that it was against the rules and there were a few of us that knew it was against the rules and the coaches for rutledge were notified but they had already been talking about it. the rule was questioned, the game was finished under protest, and the right call was made.

i was also at the game, the kid had a good pitching performance. he didn't have much velocity and had the rutledge batters out front all day. they could not wait on it, and it was very disturbing to see. i've seen them hit faster pitchin all over the ball field. the saddest thing to see was the umpires didn't know that there was a rule against it. the umpires should know the rules more than anyone but there were numerous people there including me who knew that you could not pitch more then 10 innings in 2 days without a 24 hour rest period. hopefully it will get better next year.

west shows great talent and with one of there better pitchers able to pitch monday, i am sure it will be a good game no matter who they play.

isn't it funny how west was the only team that was expected to win, that won. but still who does the oh so famous for putting east high ahead of west on so many levels write about. cocke county that's who. east also has a big write up, even though they lost. i'm not saying that these teams do not have a right to be talked about. but you need to give kids credit when they have earned it. west has surpassed many expectations this year and they still do not get treated neither as equals. i personally do not feel that this is right. and i think that the citizen tribune should start giving every team the attention they deserve

your right, we will never have a field. i have seen plans for a field but they have been shot down by the city because they say we don't need one. just shows you that west is the underdog because not even the city will build them a field like they have for east. but it really doesn't matter about the field it's about who gets the "W" at the end of the night and that more times then not is west

there were no parents who had a banner. so i promise sir there was noone hangin it up. i would very much like to meet you in 'boro; just so you could see that the team was better then and they are better now.

yes west lost one to east the other night, but there were many things that did not go west way in the second game. when they had a lot of things working they handled east 13-3. sherwood doesn't look that great to me, typical of the rec department of morristown. east makes this big deal about west not havin there own field in football, when they should because they dominate every year, but east doesn't have there own baseball field kinda funny. west lost by one tonight to south doyle. they have beat them one time this year and just barely got beat this time with it coming down to the last out in the top of the 7th. i have saw every team play in the conference this year and don't think there is anybody who could handle a team with this much talent the way the trojans have. if you disagree then i don't know what to tell you because east has been handed losses many times in the conference this year.

if i recall right and i do, the parents didn't put any banner, they didn't have a banner to put up. none of the parents had a banner, noone even had a banner out until we won. i remember it like it was yesterday, the boys were walking up the hill and the lexington fans and players were standing on and near the bleachers on the first base side of mckamis semkowski yelling comments that they never should have been said. there are still people from the town, not related to the baseball team at all that talk about how what was said that night. it will never be forgotten here, but i guess it's easy for you because you know it was wrong so why would you want to remember it. and i have not resorted to callin names here and to me it is pretty immature that you jump to that its just like you shouting out after the game. you feel big because your are saying it, but you know that you will not amount to anything. and if you think i am a player its pretty sad that you would call me a punk, hope your happy with yourself.

west high did dominate the district, and they lost a game that they shouldn't have ever lost. it's going to be interesting to see how these next two games pan out.

you can make all the excuses you want to, but everyone knows that your jv wasn't playin in the morristown west game, its just that brentz can't throw a strike and morristown west is a pretty good team
