That's because that is the TSSAA Guidance on how to report wins/losses.  Team that couldn't play because of COVID counts it as a "no contest".  Team that would have played still counts it as a win.

Some Districts have voted that the team winning the regular season has an automatic bid to the Region Semis.  I think this is the case for Lincoln Co.

Mercy Rule does not apply until half time.  Can run up the score as much as you want before then.

As long as the new keeper gets properly attired as a keeper (different jersey with number), then I see nothing wrong with it. Rule simply states you can change at any stoppage with referee permission.

Wow, if that team won the game, then the losing coach would have a really good gripe. Because depending on the score and time left in the game, that team should have had to play short the rest of the game.

The Spring Hill - Cascade game has been rescheduled to Wednesday at 5:30 due to weather conditions.

Sorry, forgot to cite the whole rule. It is RULE 12, Fouls and Misconduct, Section 8, Article 3b.

Actually, yes, it is a red card offense. Section 8, Article 3 of the NFHS rule book states "A player, coach, or bench personnel SHALL BE DISQUALIFIED (RED CARD) for b. "taunting - use of word or act to incite or degrade an opposing player, coach, referee or other individual." Then there is a NOTE that says "The NFHS disapproves of any form of taunting which is intended or designed to embarrass, ridicule or demean others under any circumstances..." I was not at this game and don't know the actual circumstances, but it seems feasible that the ref did the right thing.

Marshall Co. beat Cascade 4 - 1. And Marshall Co. just beat Page 4-3 tonight.
