  1. Big congrats to Polk, and especially Rusty Brewer.... he has endured a lot the first 2 years but kept the focus on the kids. Really a class coach.
  2. Howard looked terrible last night. Tyner looks big and athletic but has to reduce mistakes to get in the top 2.
  3. I stand corrected on Sequoyah classification, they are 241 higher enrollment, but the fact remains, they refused to schedule Central.
  4. Central and Sequoyah are not that close in size. Central is about middle of AAA, Sequoyah is 5A. Also, Central's last JV game was at Sequoyah and was not close, Central was up around 30 points on the final, just after beating Walker Valley by about 3 TDs. Things were looking bright for the future.
  5. Called it! Would love the be there next week against Alcoa.
  6. Hunt is a tallent for sure, lot of respect for his work ethic and team play. He plays both sides of the ball and special teams. I figured someone besides Western Carolina would be calling him before signing period.
  7. The local health dept wasn't who was responsible for the report, it was the state office that said it was sent. I think it will eventually show that the tracing on the first positive, that was tested on Tuesday, wasn't done as per protocol. Been a lot of smoke and mirrors out of Athens.
  8. Dang folks, this wasn't the first COVID cancellation in the playoffs. Only difference was the others were notified before game time because the protocol was followed. Read between the lines a little, fault (imho) falls at one place. And Gov Lee made it clear back in the early spring that the state won't shut down games, that is solely up to the TSSAA.
  9. Exactly... and nobody from Athens would have made a call either. This country has gone conspiracy theory crazy!
  10. Bottom line is: 1) Coach Cagle is also the A D and should fully understand the contact tracing protocol 2) The protocol, from everything that has been posted, was not followed. 3) Sullivan County Health Dept did their job based on the information they had. I think the likely conclusion from the TSSAA is D B moves on.
  11. Contract tracing goes back to when the kid was tested, according to coach Cagle, they never did any contact tracing connected to the kid that tested positive. Read his statement again and you will see what I am saying. Apparently the kid had no contact after he tested but you have to trace based on when he was tested not when he got results.
  12. The entire school (McMinn Co) was shut down Thursday and Friday by the County School Board for COVID..... how in hades should they have been allowed to play anyway.... if a school is out for weather, they don't play. TSSAA should make a decision no later than tomorrow.
