I believe it comes down to the RBS defense. JC isn't as good at the run as MHS, but they have potential to burn you on the pass. Monterey stopped JC's passing game in the second half and ran the ball. RBS needs long running drives and beware of the pass.

The 1972 Grantland Rice Bowl team was there, as was the 1952 Tangerine Bowl team. Glad I was there as I got to chat with one of my old High School coaches from 1978. Had not seen him in over 30 years.

Monterey played one of their best games against JC. Red Boiling is much improved. I hear RBS had an injury to their best RB just before they played Monterey.That was a fun game to watch. If RBS can defend the pass and hold the ball longer, they have a chance against JC.

I would like to see Pickett get a win, but don't expect it.

Just read in the Tennessean that Childress is considering going back to the old playoff system where they take the top 4 teams in each district. In region 4, does that mean the top 4 1a teams and the top 4 2a teams? I smell another realignment.

Silverpie, you make it sound so simple, how did the TSSAA get it so wrong on their playoff scenario site? They said if FCS beat Monterey, Clay was automatic qualifier and Monterey would only be a wildcard. I hate to keep beating a dead horse, but even the TSSAA got confused and caused mass confusion in the process.

Man, I thought the BCS was screwed up and college needed a playoff system. We have a playoff season that's as screwed up as the BCS.

I would have to say the Wildcats are improved from last year, but are underachievers. The will probably finish 5-5 unless they upset FCS and be in a bowl or possibly a playoff spot. Hopefully they can build some momentum from this and continue to improve next year.

I think Watertown is a better team, but since it is at Gordonsville, the Tigers win in a close one.

Homecoming for one. RBS is much improved for two. They scored late on the JV. Heady played as many as he could as soon as he could. We weren't up for this game. Sloppy. Probably one of our worst efforts. It looked like they didn't want to get too muddy before the dance.

All of the above. Anything can happen on Friday night. Some teams have a psycological advantage on others. You knocked the stuffing out of the Devils, Watertown knocked the stuffing out of us. I guess we just rose to the occasion.

Wrong Croz, Monterey made some long needed adjustments. I had already admitted I was wrong, so you didn't have to point it out looking for anything to rub in to somebody. BTW, what adjustments were made. Evidently they played with more effort, because some players quit against Gville. That's why I thought Jackson would win. You guys did a pretty good job of rubbing it in on us. We made some blocking adjustments. Your coaches had our number and when the boys saw we had no chance, some of them did give up in the 4th.
