  1. 96.5 WBFG holds a good pre-game show for this area. Also available on the TuneIn app
  2. Huntingdon 28 Cornersville 26 I've watched the game from last season couple times this week & I believe both teams look very similar in all aspects except special teams. Penalties played a huge factor throughout but its part of the game. I'll say Huntingdon on offense this year is more explosive no doubt but neither team hold an advantage on speed. The game will be won on who can execute plays with least amount of mistakes. Best of luck to both teams & safe travels to all making the trip from Cornersville GO STANGS!
  3. Let's get some score predictions! Its the eve before the game
  4. Back in 2003 & 2004 there was easily 8,000 people at those playoff games.
  5. 1999 Goodpaster 35 Huntingdon 3 2003 Lipscomb 14 Huntingdon 48 2004 Alcoa 52 Huntingdon 41 2012 Gordonsville 21 Huntingdon 20 Those are Huntingdon state championship appearances
  6. The last time I checked tradition nor regular season records win games in the playoffs.
  7. I know it's a little early for score predictions but I'll get things started off End of the 1st: Cornersville: 7 Huntingdon: 7 End of the 2nd: Cornersville: 13 Huntingdon: 21 End of the 3rd: Cornersville: 19 Huntingdon: 28 End of the 4th: Cornersville: 27 Huntingdon: 42 I believe Huntingdon will force a couple turnovers that will be the difference maker but if last week first half performance is any indication the Stangs will be taking up equipment next week.
  8. I've heard coach Swenson had been working on a couple new offensive formations since the bye week. He hasn't shown much throughout the playoffs for obvious reasons. We had a hard time blocking Mount Pleasant & Ensley made a lot of plays from using his legs & pure athleticism/speed. I wouldn't be surprised if the first play from scrimmage Huntingdon runs a play action pass & goes deep over the middle.
  9. Why all the hostility throughout the thread?? Let's try to remember we are playing for second place behind THE ALL MIGHTY Greenback or at least according to their posters
  10. Looks like I'm a little late to the party for this thread. FINALLY... THE REMATCH! This should be one of the most intriguing games across the state in all classifications. So much hype surrounding both programs. The tensions will be at an all time high for these young boys. Paul Ward Stadium in November Huntingdon struggled up front blocking in the first half last week. Eventually fatigue took over & we were able to pull away. I've tried finding some film on Cornersville but haven't had much luck other than a few highlight tapes.
  11. Halftime Huntingdon: 28 Mount Pleasant: 7 Final Running clock late 3rd Huntingdon: 49 Mount Pleasant: 13
  12. Y'all boys get finished taking up equipment this week at Gibson County?
  13. In recent years Huntingdon has underachieved late in the season for whatever reason. Maybe its the lack of competition throughout the regular season or lack of leadership along with negativity in the locker room. Its hard to tell how kids at that age will respond to adversity. Yes, the team that defeats us normally plays for a state championship but at some point that has to change especially with the tradition/success we've earn. Each year our goals are the same, win the region & represent the west for the title in Cookeville. Expectations for our program have always been high. Our small town community has a lot invested & the facilities are unmatched around this area. Hope to be watching the Mustangs on that first weekend of December! Go Stangs!
  14. The classifications have changed since Huntingdon played 2A football & with the all success we've had in years past I would have thought we would have more semifinals appearances playing 1A ball. The Huntingdon program has definitely changed in recent years along with several west TN programs. The talent level for this area has went down drastically in my opinion compared to early 2000's. Enrollment numbers play a huge factor obviously. Not to mention these are 15,16,17 year old boys. Its hard to judge one week from the next with kids that age.
