  1. I have been following Camden since I was nine or maybe even younger, and I can remember Camden making it to one playoff game from the time i was nine until I started high school in 03. Coach Ward came in my freshmen year and took a 2-8 team in the 02 season to 6-5 in the 03 season. Coach Ward is not a coach specifically for rebuilding, if Coach Ward went to HC then I can promise you he would turn HC into a dynasty. He's Great at Camden, but lets face it HC HAS TONS MORE TALENT than my Lions. This is Coach Ward's recprd at Camden: 2003- First Round of Playoffs 6-5 lost to Lewis County 2004- Quarter-finals 11-2 lost to state runner up Huntingdon 2005- Quarter-Finals 9-4 lost to state runner up Goodpasture 2006- 2nd Round lost to 10-2 CPA 2007- Quarter Finals11-2 lost to state runner up Goodpasture 2008- First Round loss to Fairveiw 2009- Quarter- FInals lost to State Runner up Milan Thats not a bad record by any standards.
  2. Thats excellent news, I'm very glad to hear that. Its awesome how God can work in people's lives . Now back to the topic at hand, when does LC start spring practice any ideas?
  3. Well I have to ask can anyone say for sure who has been named the coach or who is number 1 in the race? I'm not really a follower of Henry COunty, but I am from Camden and here lately there have been many rumblings the Coach Ward maybe headin that way. If this is the case then my bleoved Lions aare in trouble.
  4. Lewis Co. is always a tough team simpl becuase of their stubborness, coaching, and hard nosed attitudes. I would put LC up against anyone on any given night. LC Fans, I heard Coach was in some really bad shape can anyone shed some light for me? I have a lot of respect for LC and Coach Sharp as well, as do most of us Camden Lions do. Best of luck to yall on the season, Go get'em Panthers!
  5. I personally like the 1A-6A classification system. Most states have classes 1-6, so I beleive this is a good move. I HATE the Z- Plan. SOmethin had to be changed. I think a points system would be best as well. As bad as I hate to say it somethin that resembles the BCS would be best. I realize that the BCS SUCKS, BUT IMHO, he BCS would be perfect for high school ball, becuase of the fact that so many teams are playing up in class but on the same token A LOT are playin down in class.
  6. Milan- Great game yall. Yall have a great team and I wish yall the best of luck against York. I'll be wearing purple next week at ole Johnnie Hale. Coming into this game I knew yall were good, but yall proved to me just how good yall are. Best of Luck to Avery Williamson it's been fun watching him over the past few seasons. Now Milan keep taking it one game at a time, and GO GET THAT GOLD BALL!!! My beloved LIons- IT is probably some of the best times watching yall play your hearts out against the teams like Milan. At the start of the season no one gave them a chance, but yall worked your butts off and proved everyone wrong. I never doubted these young men at Camden, and I beleived they had a shot at going to Cookeville. This team is young and many of them have a long and bright history in front of them in this sport. I can't wait to see Blackburn, White, Easley, Murphy, Riley, and all the other young Camden standouts in the years to come. As long as the Lions have young men like these mentioned they will continue the tradition of winning. The Lions Senior Class: IT was honor playing with you boys in 2007, and it was an even greater joy to watch yall grow up and play this game that yall love so much. This is a graduating cass that will be dearly missed. They leave Camden football continuing winning traditions and leave a legacy that the whole community, school, and the Players themselves can be proud of. THis is the first time that Camden has made it to the Quarters since 2005. Do not hold your heads down, yall hold your heads up high and walk proud. As bad as it hurts Coach Ward was right "The sun is going to come up," and I pray that the Lord will bless all of you seniors lives in all you do. Parents of Camden LIons tell your young men, THanks for all the practice, hard work, blood sweat, and tears... THey'll never know how much it means. Parents of Camden Lions tell your boys How proud I am of them. Tell them Bruizer said it, they'll know who you mean.
  7. Just under 24 hours till Kickoff, now let's get the real talkin started yall. This game is gonna be all out nuts, with two great teams playin for the everything on the line. No longer just braggin rights, I been thinking about this game since Week One, and now oh my stars its just around the corner. GO BIG BLACK!!!! All you Camden fans SHOW YOUR LION PRIDEEEE!!!!!
  8. Swing Juice you obviously have no clue no one is catfishin right now , Its Deer season buddy ha ha. I did enjoy your Top ten so far lol. Man this game is gonna be awesome, I can promise one thing for both teams and communities in this one and that is: This is going to be one awesome experience for these young men. The atmosphere is going to be some of the best they will have ever experienced. Can't wait for Friday and Swingjuice just so ya know you'll be able to find next to the Chest Painters I'll bring ya some fish or somethin if ya wan it bubba .
  9. R- Combs is exactly right, But I do have to question whether or not J. White can set the tone with the LB's. Last week WV shut him down between the tackles, and Jabronski and Williamson are Very Good LB's. If WHite is gonna set the tone it starts with Hitting these two players in the MOUTH hard and OFTEN. But neither one will back down. A major asset that the Dogs have also is Intimidation. They not only beleive thay will win, They Expect to win. So the only way to take that away is for our Camden Lions to more physical than the Dogs, which is totally possible. I still look for this to be a very very close game, with my Lions comin out on top in a squeaker.
  10. I would like to see somebody from Camden get on here and talk up there team. A little bit more than "go team" is required. Seems like all you want to do is get on here and complain about the dawgs talking amongst themselves. I guess Saturday is opening day of deer season an all, but surely you guys aren't ready to pack it in. No Smokem we have class sir, but we don't talk crap for our boys. Our boys do all their talking on the field with their pads. I'm still trying to figure out whosae side your on exactly?
  11. Swingjuice just curious do you hgave a kid who plays on this team? Oh yeah and thanks for the shutout joke, I was really rolling . I nominate swingjuice for Comedian of the Year ha ha.
  12. In 3a its gotta bew the Camden Lions, but I'm sure who ever is playing Alcoa is on the list as well lol
  13. I love how no matter what the topic Milan and Alcoa always comes up. The topic could be Jay Leno Hits Rosie, and someone will read Alcoa vs. Milan . In all seriousness though Alcoa deserves respect from every team in the state regardless of OPEN or CLOSED zoning. If we could do the things that Alcoa has the privileges everyone would. Now IMO, a Championship team needs: A. Great and Smart coaching staff- The teams starts here. The coaches have to not only Know Football, but they also have to be stern and motivating. Teaching football is just the beggining, the hard part is taking a GROUP of boys and turning them into a TEAM of MEN. Coaches have to believe in their young men, and the Players have to trust their coaches. B. Atleast Some Talent- Each team has to have at least One if not more kid/Kids who can Pass, Run, Catch, Tackle, or all of those combined very well. Talent is what are all College and NFL coaches are looking for so why would it be any different at the High School level. C. Money- The better equipment that a school has to use during the Offseason(Weight training etc. etc.) the more they can progress their skills. All the great programs have some of the best equipment. D. Fan support- The community has a huge impact on these young men's minds if a community thinks negatively of them they typically win very few games.
  14. Even though Gaskin is out which is a HUGE LOSS, Camden will not deviate from their gameplan. Coach Blow is going to run the same plays we've ran all year. One thing that helps is Easley is a runner and he can flat out play too, my only doubt about him is passing. I look for this game to be very competitive as long as Camden can control the clock. I beleive our biggest Defense will be our O in this one. I know for a fact that Milan has more "Big Play Makers" then Camden with the loss of Gaskin. Scoring will NOT be a problem for Morris and Co. NO MATTER HOW GOOD OUR D PLAYS. However, if Milan's Offense is on the sideline it makes it difficult to score. So IMHO clock management will be a major factor for my Lions.
  15. Well Ladies and Gentlemen stay home this game is already over. Camden great season yall played hard, but them boys over at Milan are Just too dog gone good and the WHOLE state already knows Milan is gonna win....... Hmmmm I wonder if Jim Harbaugh Head Coach at Stanford said well boys those USC Trojans are ranked #9 better not play them.... Wait Stanford won that game 55-21 I bet last year when FLorida rolled into Ole Miss Houston Nutt said "Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow are #1, you guys wanna forfiet?"...... Wait Ole Miss won that game too 31-30 hmmmmm.. My point is there are Four 12 minute quarters which take place, and the game isn't over until the Ref's last whistle is blown. My beloved Lions are HUGE underdogs, but Our coaches, community, team, and Myself all beleive these wonderful young men can do the "Unthinkable." So after all this is said I say Camden in the Upset..... GO BIG BLACK!!!
