good coaching! ....not a bad idea sometimes

well until the "umpires" around west tn pick it up they shouldnt be making more than 50 dollors a game anyways ....like i said before its not hard to call balls and strikes for a guy topping out at 82 with a curve ball at 65 and thats a pretty good pitcher in high school ...they should simply be better .....and for all u talking about the game times being a factor just stop ...u could pull anybody out of the stands to do as good a job as the real "umpires" now..when they start calling good games then they can have a say in what time the game starts if its come to that but the way it is now they should be happy they still get paid ...(this is not talking about all umpires)

im not talk about bashing anyone one umpire ...ive seen many more than a "handful of bad umpires" throughout highschool....not only are the strike zones inconsistent but the knowledge of the game are not good enough by any means...if we keep the attitude that oh at least we have umpires then nothing will change ...why shouldnt they have just as much pressure on them as the players playing the field ...i love this game and when i see umpires that would be better off working in the concession stands it upsets me...they simply should do a better job its not as hard as some make it look....baseball in TN is very good compare to some states ...why arent the umpires following suit with the players?

high school umpires are getting a little ridiculous ...getting a bad umpire is almost expected now ...how could this be fixed...thoughts or feelings on the matter?

i was at the game...both looked good over all...both pitchers got sharper as the game went on... DC's pitcher racked up more k's and made riverside hitters look really bad with his curve ball ..after the first 2 innings he really settled in riverside couldnt do anything with him ...on the other side DC only squared 2 balls off gant ...riverside had a rough game defensively so its hard to say who looked better but both did well...and im sure both sides would agree the ump behind the plate was rough as well ...he really changed the game that is for sure.

well whats the point of coach t then? ha....but i east tn might have better talent but i still find it hard to believe that they have any better TEAMS than the memphis area

i agree ...i believe Gant is going to be the real deal for sure

but u have to understand there is a reason why its underused...its just a hard pitch to throw .....i agree with u but put everything into context not only is it harder to throw its not needed to get a high school hitter out ...if u dont throw the changeup right not only is it not a good pitch its a terrible pitch simply bc hitters bat speed in high school is not that great in the first place

just saying watch out for them thats all it does take much in that district ...never said they would win just watch out is all

rank jcs as high as u want ive seen them play i dont need a high school poll to tell me what a good team looks like give me a break ha.....lets agree on one thing usj has beat jcs all up and down the field for the past 4 maybe 5 years and riveride high school almost takes one from usj this preseason which leads me to believe riverside will be in the hunt this year....nothing is locked up in a district as weak as this one no matter what these "polls" say

locked down? i mean sure u can say it all u want the facts show that they are not that good they have a chance to win but no greater chance than riverside or tca has....lets get real it doesnt take a bunch sleepers to do well in that district anyways come on

ive seen stephen pitch a few times and he will do very well in high school even as a freshman ...his arm action is better than most senior high school pitchers and with an older brother playing at the SEC level he must have a good grasp of the game for sure.....hays and gant as their one and two will do very well in their district

i dont see any reason why riveside cant win that district...lets get real its not the strongest group of teams around ....riverside should be able to hang with jcs and adamsville fine thats really not even saying that much anyways that much of a team in the first place ..not to take away from them but theres nothing really special about either of those clubs
