  1. I bet they guy that made this thread went home an balled up and cried lol..Beech had sophmores and juniors killin on defense..and im not a beech fan or a mitchell fan...the dude that made this thread is flippin it arounf lol he said that he was meaning that they will win next year what an idiot!!! No Mr. Irrelevant, I put (lol) behind that jokingly. I made this thread and I am still here. I am a fan of Mitchell but not that much of a fan to be crying and boo hooing. There are more depressing things going on in life than to cry over a game. Mitchell will return some talent but they will lose a ton of it as well.
  2. HSK, I think you totally MISSED the point about WHY many posters (especially me) took issue with your thread title: ------------------------------------------------------ -- it's NOT about your accuracy/inaccuracy. -- the TONE of your words scream arrogance and cockiness! THAT'S the problem!! -- those are two undesirable and annoying traits, especially in sports competition. -- in the future, please consider using a more humble and respectful tone. -- trust me--it is easily possible to be be confident without being/sounding arrogant. TraderB, what you need to understand is that your perception of something is your own personal reality. I clarified that my statements were not cocky and arrogant. Now just because you perceive them to be, doesn't mean that they were. I clarified what my intent by my statement was.
  3. The title of this thread states that Mitchell will win TSSAA 5A Championship but I was referring to next year because they return key players, lol !!!!! No seriously though, I am eating crow because of the thread. However, that is the only thing that I said that was incorrect. I did state that if Beech couldn't score 40 points then there was no need to show up because Mitchell scored 42. Hats off to Beech on a tremendous effort tonight. Our defense was horrible, I mean I knew we had some issues but never seen anything like that. It was indeed a shootout and worth the price of admission. Once again congrats to Beech, now go win it all !
  4. EVER?? REALLY? Some of you make it sound as if Beech shouldn't even show up. If Mitchell's offense was that good they would not have a loss, regardless of how the defense plays. Holes in the defense could be a really bad thing, as it may keep that "super offense" on the sideline. I'll stick with 21. I'm not saying they aren't good, but I have a suspicion that they'll get hit in the mouth a few times and that has a tendacy to slow offenses down a bit. I see Haymer having a very big night... This is what makes Mitchell so special, yes they can be beat, yes they have already been hit in the mouth, but they keep coming. They are not just an explosive team that if you get tough with them then they are going to lay down. The games that they lost except of the mud bowl against White Station, they should have won those. They lost to a Whitehaven team in which they were leading in the waning minutes of the game and they were down 25 -26 against Melrose and went for the win with a two point conversion in which they didn't make it. The kids have a never say die attitude and if you blink they will be up by 2 or more td's quick. They can walk the ball down field, they can pass the ball down the field, and they can run the ball down the field, and they can for sure big play your defense to death. I am not or anyone else is discrediting Beech, we're just speaking on what we have witnessed by watching Mitchell. Mitchell can be beat, no doubt about it. Knoxville Catholic beat Mitchell last year in the state championship where Mitchell was the quickest, strongest, and more athletic team.
  5. HSK ... just because you said it doesn't make it true. Tim Thompson got ran out of coaching because of the money he accepted from the University of Kentucky's coaching staff that he wasn't allowed to receive, not because he was tired of the Memphis Board of Education. Jake Rudolph I can't speak on becasue he is before my time. All I know about him is that he retired from MUS and I think he won a few state championships in his time ... but I'm not certain. Wayne Randall didn't leave for a better administration either ... he was fired uncerimoniously by the new Principal at East a few years back. John Cooly didn't leave because he was tired of the Memphis Board of Education either ... he RETIRED from the City of Memphis and went to coach in another school system aside from the City of Memphis School system so that he could draw his pension check from the City and at the same time get another paycheck from a different school system like he is now down in MS. Kenny Ingram made it known to anybody who would listen that he wanted to get into college coaching and perhaps the NFL ... and after he was treated so bad by the MELROSE fans after they lost the championship game to Maryville that year ... who could blame him for leaving ... but it wasn't because he he was tired of the Memphis Board of Education, it was because TSU offered him a chance to coach in college. Is there poor coaching at some schools in the City of Memphis. Yes. Are all of them poor coaches? NO. Are the coaches at Whitehaven and White Station poor coaches? NO. It's easy to sit at a computer screen and throw stones at these men who help to mold young men into adults. Winning championships takes time to develop. It's not an instant thing and both of those coaches are moving into their prime and they have the programs moving in the right direction. HSK ... I think you are unrealistically harsh in some areas and you come across as brash and unappoligetic and downright brazen at times. There is one thing about you everybody that is reading my words can probably agree upon ... we all know what you think about a matter. HSK ... I, like you, think Mitchell has an outstanding team. I think coach Cole is a really good coach. It took him a while to get his team in the position that they in now ... just like it took a while for coach Tim Thompson, and coach Ingram, and others. Why don't you give these other coaches some time to develop as well instead of just painting all of the coaches with one broad brush? Well ... if you did that ... you wouldn't be the HSK ... now would you? Have a blessed day my brother. Well sir, why don't you explain to me the reason that the stronger more athletic teams from Memphis usually lose in the state playoffs or to teams with lesser talent if it is not coaching ? Can we say Mitchell vs Knoxville Catholic last year 3A State Championship Game ? I am dying to read you response ..
  6. Golddust, you don't know your mouth from your azz. Did I say something that wasn't true? Yes you did, because that was an isolated incident and none of the culprits that commented the heinous offense is a member of this year's team !
  7. You know highschoolking, some people MIGHT say that being a premier football team in Memphis is the equivalent to being the smartest kid in summer school or the skinniest person at a fat farm. Not me mind you, just some others in Middle and East Tennessee. Let me tell you why teams in Memphis don't win The state Championships that often, are you listening ? well looking, ok here it goes ( POOR COACHING) !!!! There you have it and I said it. Quality coaches leave the city for a better administration than the Memphis Board of Education. Tim Thompson, Jake Rudolph, Major Wright, Kenny Ingram, Wayne Randall, John Cooley are a few that I will bet the house, savings, and cars on if they were coaching teams like Whitehaven, White Station, Mitchell, Melrose, East, and Fairley.
  8. Golddust, you don't know your mouth from your azz. Mitchell had an incident 2 years ago with a few very emotional players who were undiscipline after a home semi-final loss against David Lipscomb. That has not happened and will not happen again. This group is truly a class act and I have not seen such foolishness since that group from two years ago left. I know that Knoxville Catholic, Whitehaven, White Station, and Melrose will agree.
  9. Now it will be a great game based on past games by both teams. I can't say anything about beech because I don't know anything about them, however I know a heck of alot about Mitchell. The team has speed, speed, speed, and skill across the board. Mitchell lacks something in other areas but it has nothing to do with the players and their talent, you figure that one out !!!
  10. Jodyjoe, my comments are not cocky and arrogant. I stated facts about the postseason, in which I said that Mitchell is averaging 50 points a game in the playoffs, which is true. (54 + 54 + 42) 3 = 150. . I never said that Mitchell is going to crush Beech or anything , simply stated what they have done this far. Now I did say that if a team can't score 40 pts then it may not be useful to show up, and up to this point that is true as well.
  11. I hear that Columbia is very talented. Mitchell is battle tested ( Whitehaven, Melrose (2), and White Station)are premier teams in Memphis, so to play those teams week in and week out, yeah I would say that Mitchell is more than ready !!! Columbia is not what you think- trust me if Columbia played Beech beech wins by 20 Really now? A few on here making my comments cocky and arrogant. I stated facts about the postseason, in which I said that Mitchell is averaging 50 points a game in the playoffs, which is true. (54 + 54 + 42) 3 = 150. This team has speed at every position on the field. I never said that Mitchell is going to crush Beech or anything , simply stated what they have done this far. Now I did say that if a team can't score 40 pts then it may not be useful to show up, and up to this point that is true as well.

  13. You know what fieldwalker, the average person may disagree with you but I agree with you because what you state is simply your opinion except where you stated " In the regular season your team lost every game that meant something ", and I respect that unlike others have respected mind. I am in no way cocky because the game of football is sacred and it has to be played out on the field and not the messageboard. The White Station game was meaningless because Mitchell had already beat East and lost to Melrose, in which Melrose had the #1 seed in 5A and Mitchell earned the #2 by beating East. Now that is what I meant that the White Station Game was meaningless. Kirby, Hamilton, East, and Central were games that meant something. If you go looking at regular season records then you only fool yourself because the post season is a bran new season !!!
  14. No I'm not a coach. I have seen Mitchell play several of games, but I didn't know anything about Beech ? I want to see how Mitchell stacks up against Beech formations and vice versa.
  15. Then how did Mitchell lose 3 times this year? How did White Station thump you 30-7? what's your excuse for that? The White Station game was the last game of the season and it was meaningless. Why risk getting key players hurt when the playoff format was already set ? You better do some homework first and worry about your team making it to The State !!! The losses that Mitchell had were to 6a White Station and Whitehaven and Melrose, which all are powerhouse teams !!!
