  1. I am a big LCA supporter and I think that post was just not well advised. Like others say on this thread, you have to have a bit of a thick skin to post something. I love you Randy Denton, you complete me.
  2. Thats' exactly what I am saying, bigredmachine78 you need to think about what you post. The rules are clear and simple, most schools love their coaches and they put in enormous amounts of time into what they do. NFL coaches get paid millions to be on a hot seat, highschool coaches get gas money.
  3. Who is this guy, first off LCA cannot have a losing season and it is there first year! Brentwood Academy??????? This is probably that scottsboro idiot.
  4. Any thoughts on LCA traveling to Sewanee this Saturday? LCA comes to the game with a decent 5-3 record after playing poorly in a 40-24 loss to The Kings Academy. SAS is coming off of a difficult loss to Pickett County 24-12. Hopefully we can get our offense moving again and play better D. Go Knights!
  5. I was just reading this post because I found the topic to be very interesting. I am trying to follow the little spat between the two people about questions and such and felt a decent reply be in order. My comment is this, football is a game, that is all it will ever be. Parents will attempt to relive their lives through their children through it, the media will place it above God at times and people will pay good money to go see it. It is still however just a game. When a kid or an adult is hurt seriously or even hurt slightly, respect from BOTH teams is due. The unspoken rule is that you take a knee until the player is up again and able to go to the sidelines. Keeping legs loose or warming up or even winning takes a back seat to these kinds of things. Any coach worth his salt teaches kids about life through football. It is a great vehicle to do so, so in regards to players giving high fives and cheering, not a good representation of that coach or school or the individuals involved. Hopefully those boys never have to wake up to a trainer asking simple questions about what day it is, also perhaps that coach handled it after the game and the emotions of the moment. God bless football!
  6. It is hard to predict in this one. King's is a mystery because they have dominated bad teams and got dominated by good teams. Clay County is a much better team than years prior, though Jellico may be a bit of a drop off. I do know that our offense has been struggling lately but our defense has been overwhelming. In our last two games we allowed 61 total yards and three points against RBS and 50 yards and 8 points against SCA, 48 yds of which was on one play. These teams however are not very good yet so not a viable measuring stick. I think that the offense is ready to roll though and will make for a great game against an evenly talented school. We will really get a good look at where we are after this one. Go Knights!!!
  7. There is a difference between a fact and an excuse. An excuse is saying something like "we played a lousy half of football" or "our receivers dropped passes" Why does an FCS fan post on an RBS vs. LCA thread? How many games did FCS win in their first year of football? Research it, how well do first year programs do? Even MTCS got beat by MJCA in their first year of play. I'll take three wins for a first year program, and we still have five very winnable games left. Go Knights!
  8. I am done posting on this thread. Teams beat us now while you might be able to, we have one senior on our team. Go Knights!
  9. I think unapproved website is a recognized highschool sports site. Not only are we third in the state, we have a runner that is 96th in the whole United States. And by the way the teams we play are comparable to our own enrollment and ability. We never said we were Brentwood Academy or Smryna, but we are well ahead of were we should be as a FIRST YEAR program with just over a 100 kids in our school. Oh and we beat Riverside 40-14. It is easy to take 100 athletes and put out a good football team, try coaching 20 private school kids with no experiance.
  10. Again, we have 8th graders that start on our team. We have about 23 players out of about 100 in our school that play football! I said I was not bashing RBS and I wasn't, I just know what our boys do day in and day out. You could say the same thing about a lot of schools in regards to stats. It is equivolent to who they play, and we play LARGER schools than us, with programs that have been around alot longer than us. Keep sipping the Hatorade, and go with coach Bolles to the prom for all I care, but when it is all said and done, LCA will be on the map for football.
  11. I have been watching the posts on here about these two schools and even posted my own. What I am seeing is an overall sympathy for a bad football program. A good friend of mine once said that excuses only satisfy those who give them. That seems to be the case with RBS. They are in a tough region, and it may take while to get where they are competitive. The point most LCA posters are trying to make is that we don't make excuses, by all rights we should be getting beat just as bad as them because we are a first year team with no feeder program and most of our boys have ZERO football experience. It shows at times on the field as well. We had a very winnable game against DBCS but let it slip away with penalties and turnovers. We put a lot of work into this program and while the rest of Rutherford county was off for the heat, we were out practicing. While RBS Was at home playing Madden in the summer and Spring, we were hitting the weights and conditioning. So before someone says "they have the guts they just need the glory" please be informed and post something that you know about. RBS is bad for a reason, it is not because of lack of talent they have size and some ability. I am not here to bash RBS, just to say there is a difference between LCA and RBS. We are committed to what we are doing and the boys believe in the system. Last time I checked, we are 3rd in the state in rushing. GO KNIGHTS!
  12. The school gets its name from its founders Keith and Sherry Lancaster. It is located in Smyrna about a mile east of LaVergne. We are not eligible for playoffs and are not in the TSSAA, we want to be by '09 but our enrollment is still very small. We have nearly doubled our high school enrollment from a year ago but still only have about 100 kids in high school, including 7th and 8th grade. As far as predictions for the game, RBS definitely has nothing to lose here but in the end I think our talent will be too much for RBS. LCA 48 RBS 6
  13. Someone once told me that you go to the middle of nowhere and take a right.
  14. I do not know why I am even posting a reply here but here we go. SCA is an unknown here in Tennessee! They played or should I say got outplayed by a couple of teams in middle Tennessee. Nashville Christian smoked them by 43. LCA shut them out and LCA had 8th graders starting on the line. As far as RCA goes, they are growing and should be a decent team in a few years. I look forward to the matchup this Friday as our boys from LCA will get a good test. GO KNIGHTS! Does Gordonsville have a new QB or do they still have the kid with the cannon arm? I enjoy the way that you guys support your team, very much a football town.
  15. finally we get a little love. We are excited about the play of LCA's QB. He is very young but a great leader. Thanks for the love, though we don't mind being the underdog every week. MJCA and Pickett thought they had an easy win on the schedule for this year but I believe that our kids are tough and coached well, and contrary to popular belief, we do not currently have any homeschoolers playing. We have two on the roster but neither one is a starter and they are also both injured.
