  1. Wow. Pretty surprising especially considering the coach still had him out there in the 4th after the game was decided. I would have figured a puking near dead star player might have needed to rest up or been better taken care of. Congrats to Westview, hope u do well in ‘Nooga.
  2. My bad lol. All the games i’ve been to there, never even knew there was a visitor entrance.
  3. There is only one gate, it serves home and guests. It’s between the middle school and the stadium. Visitors go into the stadium, down the concrete steps and left to the field, go around to the visitors bleachers. Be safe and have a good trip!
  4. Found some common opponents. Huntingdon beat Riverside by 12 then lost to Westview by 19. So I guess that suggests Westview wins by 31. Oh but wait…. West beat Camden 41-0. Riverside beat Camden 41-8. Hmmmm i’m torn. Or maybe we throw all that out the window and they play the game. Maybe Riverside can compete on Westviews level haha.
  5. I’m pulling for Riverside. Since I haven’t watched Westview play or know outcomes from any common opponents I won’t throw out any “on another level” statements lol. Fans tend not to be objective so it’s easy to be overconfident at times.
  6. Joy, Parks, Wheatley, Mason (i think), and Faulkner (out with injury)
  7. Congrats to Middleton, district 15a, region 8, West Tn. I agree that we can't throw out 'ifs' and say what would have happened with Faulkner. BUT anyone that has seen Middleton with her in the lineup knows they were significantly better: 10 pts + maybe, with her there. Congrats also to a good Clarkrange program who has an excellent tradition and will likely be back again and again.
  8. My humble opinion based on pre district game performances only 1. Middleton 2. Riverside 3 thru 5: take your pick Scotts Hill, TCA, JCS 6 & 7: take your pick Adamsville, Madison Scotts Hill started strong at 6-1 including a 20pt win over Chester Co, but a loss at Frank Hughes and now a stretch vs. Lexington (undef), Riverside, and Middleton (undef) could have us near .500 by mid next week.
  9. Sounds like a pretty reasonable explanation to me, Tradertwo. Thanks.
  10. As the parent of a district 15A senior, if memory serves me correctly we have swept 16A the past four years. Not sure how far back this trend goes, but given the success of the boy's teams from Memphis I have been somewhat surprised by the lack of success of the girls. Anyone have any theories?
  11. TraderTwo, Thanks for the kind words. And yes, my youngest girl is a freshman this year and I LOVE watching our JV team play!! Hustle, heart, court awareness, they all bring something different to the table and play very well as a team (undefeated so far woo hoo!!). Should be a very entertaining and fun upcoming few years as well.
  12. Hey Adam... hope you are doing well. Thanks, and yes... she did get some of her genes from me. On occasion she MISSES a free throw, and sometimes loses her cool on the court.
  13. Congrats to my oldest girl Chelsea on her 1,000th pt. Tuesday night at T.C.A. CJ is a 4 year starter for the Scotts Hill Lady Lions, and has been blessed to make two state tournament trips as a part of some very talented teams. Many people/things have contributed to Chelsea’s basketball success including: genetics (on her Mom’s side lol)- Great-Granddad the late Mack Chandler and Granddad Michael Chandler; outstanding middle school coaching by Decatur Co. Middle School Coach Keith Walker and Coach Franky Brown; and finally Coach Tracy Chandler. All these coaches have shaped and molded Chelsea from a very young age to be the best she could on and off the court. As a proud parent I just wanted to recognize Chelsea and share this with (& thank) all those who have helped her so much on her continuing journey.
  14. Coach Chandler definitely has the SH girls peaking at the right time. Anyone who saw them play against TCA (district loss after leading the whole game a few weeks back) would be pretty amazed at the turnaround. Hopefully the girls will bring their A-game and give Madison a game Monday night at TCA. Copeland... you've been pretty close with picks so far. Any thoughts on the Region tourney (basically a repeat of the District)?
  15. As I hugged all the SH girls tonight after the game, we began the mantra....."31-0, 3 to go." These girls continue to amaze me with their composure and awesome team play. I've never seen a group of girls who play together so well, and so unselfishly. One poster had mentioned speed earlier, and I myself remember back about halfway through the season when I found myself wanting us to run more. I kept thinking that we should punish teams for pressing us, and maybe even push up the score on some, but Coach C's methodic plan of controlled ball just kept winning. Then I remembered a story from the movie "Colors" where an older cop was telling a young rookie a story about some bulls and cows...not for recounting here lol, but the point or moral of the story can apply here.... I finally realized 'Okay, we can run down the court and beat SOME teams by 20pts. Or we can WALK down the court and beat them all.' 31 down, 3 to go. Good luck in the 'Boro girls. Keep on playing with class and composure!!
