Teams that should concern McCallie - (1) Father Ryan (2) Baylor (3) MBA. While I feel McCallie is way ahead when it comes to overall talent, on any given night, with the right motivation, any of these three teams could pull the upset.
McCallie coasts to a 33-14 win. Sadly, McCallie may have lost it's best receiver and playmaker (Eric Rivers) to an injury.
Found it strange that Baylor used Elijah Howard at WR for most of the game instead of RB. He almost defeated McCallie last year on his own at RB.
5_Peat. GBB.
I'm a McCallie fan (just to be clear). Don't know much about MBA except they are in the final game. It does seem like MBA is trending a little more positive than McCallie.
It is also very difficult to beat the same high quality team twice in this division.
Not sure if BJ Harris will play Thursday. He could be the difference maker.
Bottom line - close game all the way. Team with less mistakes will win. Of course.
Heart - McCallie 31 MBA 27
Head - Pick-em.
Yup, my bad about MBA. Confused with BA.
And I did not say McCallie would be better with Harris "in place of" Hardy. I said Hardy would be better with Harris on the field with him.
DeAngelo's effectiveness will be helped tremendously if BJ Harris is able to play. Also, DeAngelo needs to value the football a little better.
The hardest thing is beating the same team twice in the same season.
Watch out for Eric Rivers in the passing game. He has become quite a weapon.
Sadly, the McCallie crowd was small and quiet. Ensworth's contingent, while smaller in number, was louder and much more enthusiastic. Over the 13 years I've been attending McCallie games, I've found our fans to be rather complacent.
If you watched the game against Clearwater Academy, you would know that adverse conditions are not an advantage for McCallie. It is just the opposite imho.
